I'm having my dinner at the Plantation and they offer an "included" menu, which is no extra charge per guest. But you do need to pay $250 per hour to have dinner there.
  3. Yummmm...that sounds so good! I would love to learn how to make sushi. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
  4. All flip flops at the Old Navy near me are $2.00! I just went online and they are $2.00 there too. They have all different colors.
  5. to the forum, Hilary! There are a lot of Las Caletas brides here who can help you out. Happy planning!!!

I am not sure if I will upgrade my cake or keep it simple, but these are so nice and tempting.... Thank you for telling us about the cakes, I appreciate it! Hmmm...I never heard of Nekeisha. That would be nice if Chandlyn got an assistant, it seems like she is a little overwhelmed!
  7. Congrats on your wedding I am so glad you had such a wonderful experience. Thanks for your review...Mike and I are thinking of Greece and/or Italy for our 1 year anniversary. Can't wait to see pics!!!

  10. Sorry, I can't help with any PV info, but wanted to say congrats and welcome!
  11. I don't think I'd be able to walk in wedges in the sand. Maybe you should buy them and then practice walking around the days before the wedding while you're down there?
  12. to the forum, Asha! When I booked at RIU, I didn't need to book my rooms before I confirmed my wedding date. Let us know what else you need help with. Happy planning!
  13. It's your wedding, so invite whoever you want! If you just want to keep it family and close friends, go for it. If you explain that you're keeping it small (not that you should have to explain), people should understand. Also, if you're having an AHR, it should definitely not be a problem.

It is asking for hotel information. I am still waiting on the travel agent to get packages together and it might be a minute. I didn't have to book my rooms before I confirmed my dates. Just try to skip over that part and see if it lets you.
  15. My cousin is a hairdresser, so I'm hoping she will agree to do my hair (and maybe some of my BMs). I don't wear much makeup, so I'm hoping my friends can help me apply a little and it will look ok. On another note, for the past few weeks I've been going to .: Renova Spa :. Spas in Mexico, Dominican Republic to check on prices for the salon at RIU and when I click on the link, it says it cannot be found. Do any of you have a price list for the salon?
  16. My itinerary for my guests is (haven't formally written it out yet...): Sunday - Tuesday 5/11 - 5/13: I am planning on going to Dunns Rivers, swimming with the dolphins, catamaran cruise, etc. It will mostly be my family and FI's family there for those days, so I will let them know these are optional and not paid for (I'm close enough to all of them that I can just tell them). Wednesday 5/14 6:00 - rehearsal on beach with wedding party 6:30 - possible rehearsal dinner with wedding party (not sure yet if I'm going to do this) 8:00 - 11:00 - welcome party at Seagrapes Beach Bar (where I'll hand out OOT bags) Thursday 5/15: 8:00 - 11:00 - optional booze cruise (still need to look into this) Friday 5/16: 12:00 - wedding ceremony on the beach 12:30 - 1:30 - pictures on the beach with steel band playing 1:30 - 6:30 - don't know yet! probably just keep on drinking and hanging out 6:30 - 8:30 - dinner/dancing Plantation 9:00 - 11:00 - dancing at Pascha Saturday 5/17: recovery day! Sunday 5/18: all guests leave; FI and I will either stay at RIU or move to another resort
  17. You should try Pier 1. I saw this online: SeenON! Style - Pier 1 Imports Round Rattan Placemat But when I went to the website, it said they no longer offer online shopping. Try calling them to see what they charge.
  18. Actually, I'll be peeking in on yours...lol! We will be there from May 10th til I think maybe the 20th (not sure, we may go to another resort on the 18th when our guests leave). Our wedding is on the 16th and our guests are leaving on the 18th. Unfortunately, I got stuck with the noon time, which I'm not too happy about, but there's nothing I can do about it now...oh well! We'll definitely need to hang out and have a drink (or 10) while we're there

He is really a friend of mine, but he dabble's in photography on the side and has some good equipment. I wanted to splurge and get an excellent quality, documentary style photgrapher, but it isn't in the budget, so we will have to make do. I may order the lowest photo package that riu offers just to get a couple of prints. I will also hire the videographer. Mo: Does the plaintation have room for dancing and DJ set-up? I just saw your "newbie" post about the date... We'll be there at the same time! The Plantation does have room for a dj and dancing? I believe it is $150 per hour for the dj.
  20. My mom was with me when I found my dress. I had it narrowed down to 2 dresses and she definitely liked the other one better before I tried them on. But after I had the dress on with the veil and the shoes and everything, and I came out of the dressing room, I could tell she fell in love with it just like I did. She didn't cry, but she did get a little emotional. Sorry your mom's reaction wasn't what you expected. It doesn't mean you didn't pick the "right one". Her taste is probably different than yours and maybe it wasn't what she was envisioning. I'm sure she will have a different reaction on your wedding day!
  21. to the forum! I'm a ROR bride too. I'm actually arriving at the resort on the day of your wedding...how fun, we'll be there at the same time! Congrats and let us know how we can help you plan!
