Heidi - we're staying at Sunset for half our honeymoon. It looks awesome! I will definitely report back! We definitely want something smaller and more intimate. The RIU is huge and I feel like we're going to be with so many people for so many days, that we'll just want to get away on our own after our guests leave. It doesn't matter if it's an AI or not. I'll check Jake's and Marblue out...thanks!!!

If you're thinking about Negril at all, check out Tensing Pen as well Tensing Pen. Oh, I didn't even realize Rockhouse was in Negril I guess if we find a place we really really love, we can go to Negril. I just didn't want to make the trip from Ocho Rios to Negril for just a few nights. I'll check out Tensing Pen now...thanks!

I want to stay in Jamaica for 3 nights after our guests leave, most likely in Ocho Rios or Montego Bay (Negril is too far for just a few nights). I like Jamaica Inn and a few others. I'm also looking at the Island Outpost Hotels that Jenn (Hopels) is staying.
  9. to the forum! Happy planning!!!
  10. I gave the job to him, because I thought it would be the 1 "fun" thing he could do to help plan. Well, as of today, we have nothing planned yet...surprise surprise! So, I guess I should get on that...thanks for reminding me!
  11. We chose RIU Ocho Rios because: 1. We wanted a very large hotel since we are having a lot of guests. 2. We liked the idea of the 24 hour AI and the liquor dispensers/fridges in the rooms. 3. It looks gorgeous. 4. It was affordable for all of our guests. 5. I needed a family-friendly resort because my young nephews are coming. I'm still deciding on my honeymoon resort... I think Beaches Boscobel and Sandals Ocho Rios look awesome too! I wouldn't be too worried about your decision. Carly (carlymcmullen) is getting married at Beaches in May, so maybe ask her what her experience has been with planning a wedding there.

to the forum, Kristin! I am getting married at ROR next May. Let us know how we can help you plan!
  13. It's funny that this topic came up, because my sister and I were just talking about it. So many people have invited themselves to Jamaica for our wedding! I can't imagine ever doing something like that, but I guess these people just think it's free or something. So far, only a few of them are coming, and I do think the more the merrier, but I think it's sorta weird too. Amber, definitely stand your ground. If you don't want this person at the wedding, then you don't have to have her there. Mo, I guess just get in contact with her, like everyone else said, and see what she is expecting.
  14. That sounds great! Thanks for organizing... I'm thinking I'll probably want 8 fuschia ones for my BMs. I may get more for other guests, but I'll let you know after Christmas definitely.
  15. I'm not doing TTD, but try looking on Nordstrom.com: Designer Collections and Top Apparel, Shoe and Beauty Brands in their wedding section. They have a lot of cute inexpensive dresses. Also, try J.Crew - Cashmere, sweaters, dresses, children's clothing & gift cards, BananaRepublic.com: Modern Apparel, Handbags, Shoes, and Accessories, even (who would have thought!) Welcome to Target!
  16. Yay! That's so fun! Have a few drinks for m
  17. Yay! How exciting!!!! Have a wonderful time! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!
  18. Yay! Welcome back and congrats!!!! I'm so happy that you had such a great experience at ROR. Thanks for such a detailed review. I can't wait to see your pics. I'm also so glad to hear how helpful Chandlyn is, that's a huge relief. Congrats again!
