And then you can still use all of your starfish
  4. I love #3 and #4. I also really like #1. Not a huge fan of #2, but that's just because I'm not a "heart" person. You did a really great job!!!!
  5. You are all in my thoughts and prayers...

They had a goat and a pig roasting, bread fruit, over proof rum and rice. They set up music outside, blocked the street off with tables and they gave us a traditional jamaican style reception. It was very interesting and very sad at the same time. Sad because of how some people have to live but they make the best of it. I fell in love with some of the children and I actually want to find a way to mail gifts to these kids. Everyone in the neigborhood just showed up. They didnt know who we were, but they welcomed us with open arms. And when they told me how the groom gives the bride the cake I didnt want to do that and I said Ewww they insisted and it wasnt as bad as I thought. That's really great that they did that for you. What a cool way to experience Jamaica!
  7. That's so great that so many people want to come! I agree with the other girls, you should start to look into private accommodations.

I know my guests would like to have hard liquour. I would have preferred to only have the open bar from 9-11 pm, but I believe the $10 pp applies to the entire four hours. Correct me if I'm wrong please! I myself, would personally be satisfied with just the beer and wine! I was thinking of going for the beer/wine option, but my guests are going to be used to drinking whatever they want all week, so I don't want that to stop, especially at the reception. (Also, I love mixed drinks!) The $10/person is for all 4 hours, as far as I know.
  9. Those are cute and the prices sound about right. I bought raffia fans and they were $7.95 per dozen.
  10. Like you said, I would paint as much as you can before moving in the big stuff. When we bought our house 3 years ago, we settled one day and moved in the next. It was a huge pain trying to paint and tear up rugs once everything is there. This time I plan to do it differently if possible!

No, you're not crazy at all, I'm sure you could bring down linens and ask Chandlyn if they have other glasses. I'm bringing pink and green picture frames for my table numbers and pink and green tealights for the table (bought all of this at Ikea...very inexpensive!). I am pretty sure that the Plantation has all white linens, so I'm not too concerned about colors clashing there.

(great idea thanks girl..) This destination wedding thing can be so frustrating at times.. I guess maybe i am worrying too much.. i know that u are suppose to be carefree but Im not! i am addicted to the style channel, and am constantly watching all of the wedding shows to get ideas.. I want soo much that i know i cant have.. 1st of all like u futuremrs butler, we are also on a tight budget. I have already spent way more than i anticipated.. I am just about done with my oot bags.. i know u guys have discussed this already so please forgive me.. in my bag im gonna put a personalized hand towel with me and my fh name.. i found hot pink and lime green bath scrunchies from walmart.. (those are my colors) i got the mini flip flop playing cards from oriental trading, packets of tylenol, candles in the tin cans and i will probably throw some candy in there..(midnight snack) i really wanted to get some off wipes for the insects.. any ideas where i might be able to get them wholesale? i hear the mosquitos are big out there.. When I started planning my DW, I thought it would be easy too! I guess it can be, but most of us here on the forum are a little nutso about things, so we're making it harder on ourselves...lol! I wish I could do so much more than I am, but I also have to think about the expense and also about how to transport everything down there. Your OOT bags sound great! My colors are pink and green too:) I haven't found any place to get the insect wipes cheaply yet, I've been looking as well.

Either way, you should go in person to Atlanta PD and confirm this. Better safe than sorry. Best wishes in sorting this out ) I thought the same exact thing when we first got the call. I went online and got the main number to the Atlanta PD and called them back to verify that this detective worked there and that the phone number he gave us was really his. The Atlanta PD verified everything with me when I called them. Unfortunately, we can't go in person because we live n Philly, but I believe it's true now.
  17. Yay! How exciting!!!! Congrats Julie & Curt!
  18. Happy wedding day! Can't wait to hear all about it
