  1. so a friend's wedding is this weekend in maine (she lives there). we've been really good friends (so i thought) for years and have the kind of friendship where it doesn't matter if we talk every day or once a month...much to my surprise, i wasn't asked to be part of the wedding party. i don't know how many people are actually in the wedding party, but do know that it includes at least one college friend. i was taken aback, but kinda happy that i didn't have to deal w/ all the costs and stuff. so i went to the shower and felt totally out of place. i was unable to make it to the bachelorette party, and i'll be honest, i wasn't sure if i'd be comfortable there anyway. so when i got the invite, we decided that we'd leave friday and stay till sunday (6 hr drive). wasn't specifically invited to the rehearsal dinner, but when i told her i'd be coming, she said "oh, there's a dinner, when you check in, you'll get the info", so we figured we'd leave and get there around 6 in time for dinner - good thing i sent her a text today b/c it's a picnic that starts at 3:30 and ends at 7....SO, was it worth it to drive up a day early and spend $150 on the hotel plus whatever it would cost for entertainment (aka liquor) later in the night just to feel uncomfortable at a picnic? so i cancelled the hotel for the first night and we'll leave early sat. morning in time to get to the hotel to get ready. to be honest, in addition to feeling uncomfortable, i'd rather not spend the extra $200ish - i decided to take advantage of being a teacher and haven't worked all summer! SO. do i call her and bother her in order to tell her that we're not coming till saturday? she's already at the hotel getting things together...AND, even more important, will she be mad? would you call? would you be mad? AHHHHH!!! totally stressing over this! (sorry so long btw)
  2. welcome! where in nyc did you guys get engaged? i was a week before you at the top of the rock....picking a place was definitely the hardest step after that!!!!!!
  3. shelley i'm always following your posts!!!! i had the same prob - we're staying wed.- the following sat... the first weekend is a holiday weekend, so i decided that sat would be good b/c ppl could fly out thurs or fri morning, and leave monday in time for work on tues. i wanted ppl to be there to hang out, be at a WD and not have to leave the following day....when are your 3 day-ers staying? i'm learning that you can't please all people all the time - try to remember that!
  4. welcome! i'm (going to be) a dreams puerto vallarta bride! i agree w/ claudia - awesome that a mom is on here!
  5. ok i opened the red/black one - it's one design w/ a paisley design at the ends before the fringe. it's extremely fine and needs an ironing but i'm leaving it in the bag for now. speaking of ironing, are you guys gonna give them out individually wrapped or take them out of the package? i don't know where i'm gonna put them still...
  6. lol, i can't say if they are ugly, they're certainly not my taste, but i'm sure i'll get some use out of them! the pic doesn't show all of the design; and i believe that each side has a different kind of design, but i can't open it b/c my kittens think that they're toys. my total varies from day to day, some days i think i'll have 25 guests, the next 60 - i may end up ordering more!
  7. got mine!!!!!!!!!!!! i got the 2 extras as well - kinda interesting patterns! of course the company is located about 20 minutes from where i live...................................... thanks again ann!
  8. dreams will do my hair for free w/ my package but i'd like to know what it would be for my mom, FI's mom and possibly a bridesmaid or two....would they travel to your hotel?

The pants were slightly long, but we are just going to hem them. Definitely check out Macy's soon because I'm sure they will go fast. it was/is an awesome sale, if they have stuff left...keith went a few weeks ago and only found a tan linen suit that he wasn't thrilled w/, but we went this past weekend and found a PERFECT white linen suit, last pair of pants and they just happened to be his size. the whole thing cost about $50...don't remember what brand - maybe INC? possibly charter club.....
  10. i thought about buying one from michaels and painting our monogram on it but i don't want to bring yet ANOTHER item with me....they have an aisle runner (i think it's burlap), but i'm pretty sure i'm just going to go w/ petals too.
  11. agreed...i was told 10-12 weeks for my dress to come in and then COULD do alterations w/in a week (but not preferable)... and some you can even buy off the rack (sample sale) and have altered immediately...i think you can wait.
  12. i use wedding window too...they have tons of templates and you can try it for free for 7 days...there are also coupon codes if you google 'wedding window coupon codes'. here: http://www.keithandlauren.weddingwindow.com
  13. we're currently dealing w/ the same issue - we wanted an mc, and didn't want to impose on our friends...but then we realized that it REALLY wouldn't be all that much talking, plus we're paying for some/most of 2 ppl's trips (bad english, sorry), so they owe us we found a dj that doesn't mc that's $545 for 4 hrs. i know nothing about him, but hope that he's good!
  14. $322!!!!!! it's $600 from jersey, and we have to stop! i'll be honest - my ta is familiar w/ the area, but i won't recommend her. i say PM tammy - i wish i did!
