Will I be a bridezilla if...
1elephant replied to CrystalM's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
i think a contract is tacky. i think you should flat out tell the person that you want them to be in your wedding, but don't want them to feel obligated to spend the $$ on the trip, and that if they do come you'll pay for x, y, and z. that being said, you won't pay for x, y, and z until they put down a deposit on their trip...or don't tell them that you're paying and surprise them by giving them the $ to spend when you're away. i think you and your childhood friend have some problems communicating, and you should probably address that... -
Happy wedding day, Jacqueline!!! *quick update #17, pics #22
1elephant replied to boscobel's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
congrats jac! hope it was perfect!!! -
i offered 2 w/o any cost, but we're talking 15 months ago. there's a pic of my menus in my planning thread (signature). the options for cocktail hour and dinner are the same as they were then. i think i reviewed the wedding food in my review, but i don't remember. we didn't have any appetizers, as we were taking pictures. my father said they were all fantastic. the only thing that is NOT WORTH IT is the cake. get that elsewhere if you can (idk if it's allowed...? don't think it is...). i loved all of the food at dreams but there was not a single dessert that i enjoyed.

I knew it was the place immediately! I'm assuming the packages are the same, but has anyone had experience with the hair/salon? I'm a hair stylist, so to me hair is more important than the dress! haha read the rest of this thread for more hair/salon info...it's been discussed several times. also, are you bringing in your own photographer? Thanks so much! Its amazing to have a community like this when planning a destination wedding!! Does the photographer included in the package stink? i brought my own. i didn't like the pics i was shown and 50 pics were not enough for me. we did not hire an outside videographer. while i'm not the most recent dreams pv bride, my pics and review are still in my siggy

I wanted to ask all of the Dreams PV brides which they were doing: Having OOT bags delivered to the rooms before hand ($3 a pop) or if you are all handing them out to your guests. I think FI and I have decided to deliver the OOT bags to the rooms personally, for a special touch and a bit of cash saved. Rebeca mentioned that we could request room info / numbers from front desk with no problems. Has anyone else considered doing this, or do you think that having them delivered before hand is a better option? (Keep in mind, FI and I will be there a week before everyone-- hooray for backward honeymoons, lol) we hand delivered, and on one occasion had my mom deliver b/c i was getting ready! we had no prob getting room numbers from gaby, but the front desk would NOT give them to us as a security measure - which i appreciated - but would transfer via phone...just make sure you get the rooms from rebeca.

having a pet is a lifelong commitment and i think your fi needs to understand that before he forces you to make a decision that you're uncomfortable with. imo, if my dh knew that cats were part of the deal, i'd sacrifice a little - not letting them sleep w/ me, for example - but wouldn't budge much further....

trouble hearing the ceremony on a beach???
1elephant replied to wsarah2107's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
we had speakers and a microphone and everyone heard...and the waves were loud that day too. ETA: you can also hear everything on the video. -
i've been using crest whitestrips. there is a relatively new box out - it's 1/day, made for sensitive teeth. i bought a box of 35 and use them for about a week every few months. Crest Whitestrips Daily Whitening Multicare

dh and his friends (and dad!) went go-carting (i think that's what it was) on the streets of mx, followed by a tequila tour. i just told him to be careful. if i was going to be with the girls, why couldn't he go do a guy thing, kwim? i also didn't care if my guests understood or not - it was our wedding day, not every day. they really couldn't expect to be hanging out with us all day.

Bonfire at Dreams?
1elephant replied to smith3576's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
if it's a dinner outside of the restaurants i'd assume they'd charge you whatever they charge for other rehearsal dinners. they do have bonfires with their entertainment, but idk if they'd do it for you...best bet would be to ask the wc. -
Wedding Cakes
1elephant replied to Alex1nine's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
idk about cakes from pie in the sky but their huge chocolate chip cookies were to die for!!! we used them as favors and i'd totally kill for one right now!!!! try sams - but idk how much advance notice they'd need. -

DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER OR PARCHMENT PAPER. they will stick and you'll have too many to snack on but not enough to serve. i tell you this because my sister just threw out several batches after not learning her lesson.

a) what does it say on the invitation? does it say black tie? if so, i'd definitely wear a skirt, regardless of what anyone else is wearing. where is it in nj? that also makes a huge difference. personally, i'd wear a skirt. i don't like dresses or skirts all that much either, but i wear them for formal occassions.

Is an AHR expected after a DW?

please use the search function in the upper right corner. this topic has been discussed extensively and the mods work very hard to make sure there are no duplicate threads. -

i have it too. nothing otc works for me. my doc gave me a shampoo-like liquid to massage into the spot about 5 min before getting into the shower. he also gave me a steroid injection but that didn't work for me. the bad about psoriasis and your wedding: you may not see results before you go - but i'd call anyway and tell them you're getting married, could you just pop in for an injection or see the nurse practitioner, etc. the good: you're going to a hot place - sun is good for psoriasis - with an ocean - ocean water is one of the best short-term remedies for psoriasis. in the meantime, try neutrogena t-gel. it smells like absolute poop but will help a bit while you wait for other solutions.

I was going to use them and just got a referral from my WC that I should also check out Franc Gole. have you read the rest of this thread or tried searching the site? not only did i have my hair done there, and have reviews in my siggy, but there are other girls who have since had theirs done too.
