  1. mine was covered in plastic and then in one thing white garment bag. it was fine, but i carried it on. are you carrying it or checking it?
  2. my dh and dad talk when we're all together but they don't hang out or anything...i think dh's too shy
  3. first of all, screw the peanut gallery and their opinions...you want a beach wedding, you have a beach wedding...if you are genuinely concerned, ask your wc or someone at the hotel/ceremony site if it will be crowded. i can't speak for maui, but we had a pretty private ceremony. it was in front of a restaurant, but the restaurant wasn't busy b/c it was too early. there were actually people on the beach, still sitting in the palapas and our photographer took a picture of the couple as they read their books next to our ceremony...according to my guests, the couple didn't even look up! we had a microphone and speakers so everyone could hear. we did have a few crashers at the reception...but my bm was on crash patrol and kicked all crashers out - even the ones i invited down from the balcony on the hotel!
  4. heidi- you may be best off straightening and then using a curling iron for the curls you want. otherwise, you could put it all up and not have to worry about how tight the curls are. i had to go all up b/c i would have put it all up w/in 20 min...
  5. if you HAVE to make a stop, and if you're traveling w/ wedding stuff and have any worries about customs, stop in mexico city. then you essentially don't go thru customs b/c you don't have luggage w/ you!
  6. i saw "poopsie-daisy" in bed bath and bought it for my sister, who was sharing a hotel room in mexico w/ our best man...they both said it didn't work, but it WAS a different brand...i think the names are hilarious.
  7. i liked that dress for me when i was looking for a more informal dress! i voted for jade, but i like a lot of the colors! (esp the oranges) if you want pink, what about the pink sorbet?
  8. in pv, they were VERY careful at the gate...you couldn't go in our out w/o telling your room # (doorbell brb) shit.
  9. we tied a piece of raffia around it to keep it closed, and had another long piece thru the top which went around the cork. so when you pulled the cork, you pulled the invite. however, many people didn't re-tie them to put the scroll back in, and then they had a problem...but i did my part
  10. great idea mods! i think the best idea is that each person is responsible for getting/sending her own starfish...what a pita for you to worry about whose fish is going where...! i'd write something to post to the blog, but i'm not the most sentimental person...to me, the starfish was more about having something borrowed than writing about the starfish's journey (sorry carly!)

    At Last!

welcome and congrats! i was just married at dreams pv a month ago! there are lots of pv brides, and many have stayed at dreams, but very few here have been married at dreams. my review and pics are in my signature and i'd be happy to help answer any questions!
  12. morgan, i'm sorry to hear about your stereo...but at least you're ok!
  13. congrats jenn! wow, today is a big house day for the bdw members from pa!
  14. how about ecofetti? it's biodegradable confetti. Tossing Ecofetti i was actually going to use it, but forgot......
  15. and, while it would be awesome to meet some of you and see some of you again, if it can't be changed, then it can't be changed...no worries.
  16. i can do the 26th, but don't know about others who celebrate. i'm not religious, but do need to spend the first 2 days/nights w/ my family.
  17. i didn't read all of the responses, but i had the same scheduling problem. basically, i said that i didn't care if they got hair or makeup done, but if they did want it done, then they'd have to go early. assign the most important people a time (moms, family, etc.) and let the rest duke it out. with so many girls, there really isn't much choice.
  18. thanks for clearing that up. to be honest, i thought that i was on that list, but i guess i was wrong. wish this had been thoroughly explained earlier...would have cleared up a lot of confusion on my part.
