according to dh, who is currently looking for a sales position, pharm sales are quite difficult to get into now. my personal guess is that it's b/c all of the salespeople who left mortgages and other sales positions all ran to pharm sales. keep your head up, tho, it'll come to you in due time!

1 song or 2 - Walking down the aisle...
1elephant replied to cabobridey's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
i think 2 were played. one classical sounding piece for the bms, gms, and dh w/ his parents, and something bridal for me. to be honest, no one even noticed, including me.. -
we put our small suitcase in our bigger suitcase and locked both. we kept my purse with all of our money, our passports, and our rings inside, as well as dh's professional-grade camera. they showed us how to use the safe at the hotel when we checked in, but we never used it. some of our guests did and nothing went wrong, but you never know.

Questions about the liquor at Dreams
1elephant replied to michelle08's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
i can speak for pv only, but it should be similar. 1) only beer 2) coronitas in minibar, a few different kinds at the bar. i think bottles of corona and pacifica, but something else on tap. 3) we received champagne upon arrival, but the bottle was put in our room the night of our wedding. -
they closed the g%#&~ ben and jerry's near me...and the ricky's candy, cones, and chaos...now i'm left with friendlys. blah.

they are indoor cats, but we occasionally take them for walks on leashes - but only on our property...i know, crazy cat lady, but they think they're dogs. we also occasionally take ed to the pet store b/c he loves to climb from cat tree to cat tree and watch the birds. other than that, they don't come in contact with any other animals. please keep the advice coming...i'm still torn...

we have two bengals. sake is 3 1/2 and ed will be 3 in july. we take them to the vet for annual visits. last year, during ed's annual visit, he received two shots - i believe they were rabies and distemper. when we got home, he started vomiting so much that we brought him to the emergency vet and they had to keep him overnight. he pretty much almost died, and it was thought that he had a reaction from having two shots at once. we have to bring him for his yearly checkup tomorrow and i'm going to a new vet (bc we moved and the old one was too far away). i'm having a hard time deciding if i want him to have the distemper shot. he doesn't need rabies bc it's a 3 year vaccine, but when the vet called to confirm she said he's due for a shot. i've done some research and some places say that distemper is every year and some say that it's not necessary every year. do you vaccinate your cats? if so, what for?

i left all of my stuff there...not on purpose, but just b/c it wasn't the first thing on my mind...so a few lucky brides will have access to 40+ tea light holders and some 400+ tea lights...i'd say that i'd like it back, but if i had it here, i probably would have thrown it all out or tried to sell everything. funny side note: we had cookies from pie in the sky bakery on the table as thank yous....apparently some people forgot them and they were taken by workers at dreams...we saw a few workers eating them the next day!

welcome! at which dreams resort will you be married?

as a thank you to our parents, dh and i bought them each an extra copy of our wedding album, which is more like a coffee table book than an album. we want to put a hand-written thank you inside the book, but we're having a very difficult time figuring out what to write. i don't want it to be like, "thanks for doing it so we could be born" kinda thing... anyone have any ideas? i'm hoping to get enough feedback to piece a whole paragraph together. thanks!

How do you "Uninvite" Guests?!!
1elephant replied to hammstephanie's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
actually we were invited to a wedding this coming june. we received the std and then got a nice letter a few weeks later stating that the plans for the wedding had changed, and due to many unforeseen circumstances, they had decided to only invite family. dh and i laughed about it, saying we were uninvited, but we didn't look at them any differently...plans change, financial situations change, there are so many other reasons for cancelling or changing plans.....i think it's ok as long as no one has booked and you send out a nice letter with a broad explanation - nothing specific - and send it ASAP. if people have booked, then the show must go on. -
so i opened it to make sure that the rest was clean - they obviously boxed it so i wouldnt realize it was still dirty. i'm bringing it back tomorrow to either have it recleaned or get my $100 back. hopefully the next time i post on this thread it'll be to say that the gray is gone.

heidi they're gorgeous!!!! i can't wait to see the rest

Are you and your fiance waiting to consumate...
1elephant replied to FYB87's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
i have no self-restraint. i practically attacked dh on our second date, a story which he loves to tell. i give you props tho, good for you for waiting! -
where's jenn? if memory serves, she planned on using laura mercier.

oh i definitely would disclose the info...i'd be mighty pissed if i ordered a dress and it came dirty. i'd definitely sell it as a ttd dress, and wouldn't expect to sell for more than $150 max. i didn't pay for it to be boxed. i paid just for cleaning and they boxed and preserved, which makes me even more hesitant to keep it in the box. they must have boxed it for some reason if i didn't pay for it. now i'm debating - is it worth it to sell, or should i just keep it now? i hate holding onto shit that i'll never use again. thanks for your opinion and honesty - glad i was thinking along the same lines as you!!!!

i met a guy during a summer course at community college. we became friends, occasionally hung out, but i was NEVER interested in him...fast forward a few years - i've moved to london, and am planning on coming home to visit my parents for a week. he says let's hang out...just us. ok, fine, it's a date, maybe i'll get some. he calls me day of to tell me the plans - we'll have dinner and drinks at a shore bar, then maybe go out, maybe go back to his [parents], we'd play it by ear. so i drive to his [parents] house. from there, he drives to this dive bar where this TERRIBLE cover band is playing. he tells me that some people he knows may show up. ten minutes later, these people show - it's his brother and his sister- both are giving me the 5th degree. we spend 2 hours at the bar. sometime in the middle, i go to light a cigarette (this was when i was smoking and when smoking was allowed in the bars), but before i light it, he pulls it out of my mouth and shoves his tongue down my throat. i mean, i almost vomited on him, it was that far down my throat. bulimics would love him. we finally leave the bar to go to dinner (backwards, right?!) at WINDMILL. for those of you who don't know, the windmill is like the equivalent of mcdonalds for hot dogs. great hot dogs, don't get me wrong, but not for a first date with a guy and his siblings. don't remember how the date ended, other than we went back to his [parents], and i kept pounding beers to make him go away. since then, every girl he's had a 'relationship' with has been via internet. he's met 'the one' about 15 times, without actually meeting them.

those of you who saw my slideshow know how dirty it got during the ttd - we went into the pool, the ocean, and ended with a lovely walk down an extremely dirty cobblestone path. in hindsight, i should have done the ocean last, but whatever. so i just got my dress back from the cleaners. even though i asked them not to, they preserved and boxed the dress. from what i can tell, the whole thing is clean except the very end of the train, which is a beautiful shade of gray. all of the design is embroidered, and the end of the train is embroidered as well, making it much more difficult to clean. it was made for me - hollow to toe measurement, taken in a bit on the sides...would fit any girl that's a size 0-4, provided they were 5'1"ish or shorter. so the questions are: 1) would you buy this dress knowing that it was a bit dirty even after it was cleaned? 2) if so, how much should i charge? after fittings, bustle and the slip, the total was $700, but just the dress w/o fittings/bustle/slip came to $500. 3) should i take it out of the box to make sure that's the only place where it's still dirty? i won't be able to get it back in after.

where's your wedding? i left all of my decorations w/ my wc at dreams. my colors were mostly white w/ some orange.

PV Dune Buggy Excursion
1elephant replied to jajajaja's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
dh and his gms did this the day of the wedding and said it was so much fun. they may have gone thru vallarta adventures, but i'm not positive. they said the tequila tasting was awesome - a scam to make you buy tequila - but awesome nonetheless. -
