  1. i'm not gonna lie i'm waivering...i really did think we were meeting today - even wrote it in my calendar as today! i've been off from school for the last week, so i have lesson plans to do, as well as other regular sunday stuff, so being 2+ hrs away from home is difficult... i'm gonna try not to think about it, but if i freak about having too much stuff to do tomorrow i'm gonna go home from my sister's. i'll let you know.................
  2. alyssa, i'm so sorry to hear/read this...your family is in my thoughts....
  3. i'd like to say i'm shocked, but i teach 10 year olds... they come in talking about how if someone wears black, they're goth, and if someone is emo, they are goth, but also emotional, and are depressed and like to cut themselves. gay is a word i hear often (specifically out of one kid's mouth, and i have a conference with mom like every flipping week). i'll bet whore is next. it's all over tv and youtube, and kids have older siblings, etc. when i have kids i'm gonna lock them in a bubble until they are 35. what did you tell your daughter? on a funnier note, when i was about 7, i had a friend over and she told my sister to put 3 fingers in her mouth and then say suckering succotash, like sylvester the cat. well with fingers in your mouth, the 's' comes out as 'f' and my friend ran and told my mom that my sis said the f-word. she got her mouth washed out with soap, and then we both got a lecture on not following, and not always doing what other people tell you to do.
  4. when you add the link, part shows up in red and part in blue. if you just type, the blue will be replaced by the words that you type in.
  5. abbie they are gorgeous! i like the close ups the best; you can see how happy you two are! btw, your hair looks fabulous!
  6. i love reading everyone's review threads, but they make me think of things i could have done differently...like an ice cream station!?!? i bet if i had one of those, i could have received better gifts!!!!! sounds like everything went just the way you planned it, and the picture are beautiful.
  7. well that's kinda dumb. Quote: Originally Posted by JamaicaBride062108 Will they fit to loop through? Does that even make sense? 8. well, i drove down to south jersey, where i can't watch the mets game....went to my parents for dinner and watched some hgtv with them before heading back to my sister's, where she promptly fell asleep (at 9:30) and left me in her living room on bdw. to make my night more fun, last i heard the mets were losing 5-3. dh is sitting BEHIND HOME PLATE. 6TH ROW FROM THE FIELD. AND I'M IN SOUTH JERSEY WHERE I CAN'T EVEN FREAKIN SEE THE GAME. EDIT: just looked at mets.com - guess i'm glad i couldn't see the game. wish i could have been there to give my husband jose reyes a kiss tho.
  9. 1. Alyssa 2. Jenn 3. Heidi 4. Kelly 5. lauren (who totally thought this was on saturday and came all the way down to south jersey to meet up on saturday only to find out that it's sunday and that i have to stay at my sister's an extra night - she may or may not come.)
  10. i'm ordering tomorrow. i was hoping to start next weekend, but i have this pta thing to go to on saturday night and it would be really embarrassing if i started being regular in a public bathroom with the moms of my students...so i'm thinking the weekend after- which would be just in time for the biggest loser contest.
  11. ok now that i've read the rest, i have a couple of lousy ideas that come with good intentions: if you can push the ceremony time back to after 'lunch time' you can just skip a meal and invite people back for cocktails and cake. if the backyard has any shade, you don't need a tent. you can rent chairs, or set up picnic blankets. on the same picnic note, you could just have a big picnic in the backyard with sandwiches and whatnot - totally different, kinda romantic, definitely casual. i say bring in a whole shitload of food from carmines. one dish will feed 30-40 people, lol. the only thing you'd have to worry about with planning it outdoors is that you can't really have a raindate for a wedding...unless it's a celebration of your wedding, in which case it doesn't have to be on the same day. in any case, i have a plain, elbow length white veil w/ pencil tip edging. i also have a headband (pics in my planning thread), and a groom that you can borrow. if i think of anything else that i didn't toss/sell, i'll let you know!

I believe you'd be able to make this work if you do it in the back yard & cater it like Alyssa is thinking... i agree - the backyard is probably the most economical thing to do! AND if fil's disagree and want something uppity, you can say, "well my dw was going to be exactly what you now want, just in another place, so shove it beotch!" but that's just the bitch in me talking. i'm going to read the rest of this thread now.
  13. jen, everything looked perfect! how many sisters do you have? they all seem to look like you!?
  14. ok here's a particularly nasty question, or poopstion, if you will: did the poop smell more than usual?
  15. the little ones are called coronitas - they actually say that on the bottle - i thought it was so cute! if i could redo my message-in-a-bottle invites, i'd use coronitas to make them more festive.
  16. YAY congrats!!!!! sheesh you're calm about it tho - i'd be freaking out! Quote: Originally Posted by LC_Rachel Yay- congrats! 17. there was another wedding 2 days after mine held at the resort's buffet. at my specific resort, i would have chosen another restaurant, but i don't see anything wrong with it! I was trying to give them a special treat and everyone thought I was just doing too much. Point of my ramblings- I don't think it looks cheap. Your guests won't care and probably will think it's silly if you paid to make it private. rachel, where did you have it?
  18. or a GUNT! mine is really hard. i say "feel the poop?" and make dh push it. btw, go to youtube and type in colonix. dude make 27+ videos - one for each day...
  19. what are your hobbies? now that the wedding planning is over, i'm sooooo bored. i read, but can't get into anything deep during the school year. i LOVE LOVE LOVE to eat, but don't enjoy cooking or baking. i'm looking for something interesting that doesn't require a lot of attention. my attention span is quite short, which is why planning was so great b/c i could stop one project to work on another until i was bored of that one. i'm hoping that hearing (reading) about your hobbies will inspire me.

EDIT: review
  22. carly, i'm sure you're more than ready, and it'll be perfect. and if it's not, have a few drinks, and then it'll definitely look perfect! Anyways, when you come home you won't know what to do with yourself. I kept trying to remember what I was forgetting to do because it just felt like I should be planning something. THen I remembered that I was married. Now I just enjoy my role on the forum as "advice/joke" giver. haha it's fun to be part of the married crowd. yep! there came a point where it didn't matter anymore...there was no time to start any new projects and whatever it was, it was! when we came home, dh worked on our wedding book. that took a few weeks, but now i'm bored, and ready for my bil to propose to his skank of a gf so i can help plan that one.

  24. friendly's is like a tgi fridays w/ an ice cream counter. it's not fantastic...tho they do have peanut butter sauce. the funny thing about friendly's is that they have an ice cream sundae calld the 'happy ending'. a friend ordered one last year and the response was quite amusing, lol!
  25. you shouldn't be docked a day if the district doesn't pay a sub. we had 2 snow days while we were in mx for our wedding and b/c the sub wasn't there, she wasn't paid, and b/c SHE wasn't paid, i wasn't docked (i had to take some unpaid days).
