We were hoping to gift our wedding party with a Villa for 5 nights while the rest of our guests stay at Dreams. I wonder if it is possible to hold the event there without staying there. ...anyone know? Are you happy with the Dreams WC or would you suggest an outside one? Were you happy with the Dreams photog or would you suggest an outside one? Thanks is advance - the pics from Dreams weddings look beautiful! Justine i don't know if you have to stay at dreams. to be honest, we didn't feel it was right to invite our friends to vacation with us/for us, and not stay with them...which is why we didn't go to another resort for our honeymoon afterwards. if we could do it again, we would have stayed at dreams until everyone left and spent our last 4 nights elsewhere (only for a change of scenery - we had been there for a week by then). gaby is great! she works really hard as a wc and as a waitress, so it takes awhile for her to respond, but as you get closer to the wedding, her responses get faster. i had an outside photographer, so i don't know about the dreams one. click on my review for more info -it's in my siggy.
  2. thanks all!!! i keep telling my kids that they have to treat me well this week
  3. we had 30 people - 8 from my family at one table, 10 from his family at one table, 10 of our friends at a table, and us 2 at a sweetheart table. i didn't assign specific seats, just tables. i feel like it was easier for everyone, and it wasn't like they had to stay seated the entire time; obviously people got up and talked whenever they wanted.
  4. carly, everything looks fantastic! i love the dresses - can't believe you guys made them!?

  6. i didn't vote for the 22nd, but i can do it if we stay in cherry hill. i'm having a big bbq the day before, and wanted to relax, but that vote for the 22nd makes 6.
  7. nice! my favorite (i think) is the black and white one near the waterfall/rapids/not sure what it actually is. some of the ocean ones are quite risque!
  8. pretty headband! my headband was pinned in with a gazillions pins...if i had tried to get it out, i would have ruined my hairstyle...but i don't do hair, so there may be another way.
  9. awwwww poor sadie! i'm glad she's healing well though... they ever find the bastard that hit her?
  10. wow, how time flies! hope your day was fantastic and everything was just as you dreamed!
  11. i picked the square brown b/c it seems more unusual than blue. blue would be my 2nd choice.
  12. everything looks great lizz - are you all set?
  13. i've bought silver rings from there; regular transaction, rings were perfectly fine.
  14. kat, no need to wait - thanks for the offer tho! i'm sure it's b/c you are closer - i was just really hoping to have it this weekend. maura, i can't vouch for this method with the powder, but when i was little and couldn't swallow pills, my mom would open them up and pour it into applesauce. applesauce gets rid of most icky tastes!

I need to take time off to vote in the primaries so I figure I might as well have one big day of paperwork. if your license is digital, you have the option of keeping your old picture - they have it on file! last time i voted (in nj) i needed to show id - make sure that something matches your voter registration. also in nj, you can make an appointment at the ss office. i dont know how, but i discovered this as i was sitting next to a smelly man for an hour last week. an appointment wouldn't eradicate a wait, but would reduce it, i'm sure - check into that as well!
  16. i used vista print for shower cards and wedding cards. for the shower, i found a pic of a daisy and wrote thank you on the bottom (in photoshop). for the wedding, we used a pic of us getting soaked on the rocks in pv, and on the inside, there was a pic of us walking down the beach holding hands. vista print rocks - always coupon codes, and therefore, seem to be cheaper than any other place i checked out!

  18. how about mid-summer surprise? it can be around july 31, since not all of us celebrate the 4th...i'm probably in regardless of the decision, unless it's memorial day...that's too soon.

  20. way to go glenda!!!! makes the colonic worth it now, huh!!! great work girl!
  21. how about: there are plenty of hotels in Puerto Vallarta, but here are some of our recommendations: yadda yadda yadda for additional accomodations, check out tripadvisor.com or your own favorite travel website. we wrote: our reception is at dreams resort and spa, and we're staying at dreams for the duration of our time in PV. check www.vallartadreaming.com for all the information on the resort, as well as room rates / etc. it's an all-inclusive, meaning, of course, unlimited food and drink. pv has a huge selection of hotels - should you opt for another hotel, the only caveat is that dreams will only allow you on premises the day of the wedding, and they'll charge about $100 per person. (btw, we made that $100 quote up - we had no clue what it would cost, but wanted to deter ppl from staying elsewhere) we also said that we looked into group rates, which were more expensive, and determined that we didn't feel like selling our house to go w/ group rates.
