  1. what about 35 things to do? not necessarily places, but maybe you talked about skydiving, or taking a road trip cross country, or running a 5k together. or 35 restaurants to go to, for the next 35 months - places with significance, or places you want to try. even if the place goes out of business, you could go to the replacement place (even if it's been torn down, you could have a picnic at the site). on the first of the month, you can decide which day will be date night, and stick to it. i kinda like that...i may keep that for this coming november, k's 30th (tho he wants to try $400/pp restaurants in nyc...)
  2. if you want girly shots, try purple hooters and wet p*ssy shots (i hate that word, but when we were at dreams, the bartender sent over some shots and we asked the waitress what they were and kept having her repeat the name b/c it was SO damn funny considering she didn't know what it was!!). anyway they are both really girly shots. i just asked my girls to be in my wedding, nothing special. but what about getting some foam letters from michaels and spelling it out on the bar? that way you ask all of them at once. or, find some girly cards at target/hallmark/etc. and give those out. i found a card that says "girlfriends together make everything better" on the outside, and "thanks for being a friend who laughs with me, who cries with me, who listens to me, who is there for me...a friend like you brings out the best in me even in a bathing suit and flip flops...", which would have been perfect to give at the wedding w/ gifts, had i remembered to bring it.... anyway, enough rambling...have a fantastic time tonight!!!!!
  3. we moved in together after 6 months of dating. if we had not lived together, we probably would have had the marriage annulled by now! 4 years of living together allowed me to see and get used to his living habits, like leaving socks on the floor wherever he takes them off, and letting his clipped toenails fly all around the bathroom (yes, i know - gross!). i would not be up for this kind of surprise after the wedding. to be honest, i don't even know how people get married without living together nowadays. considering that 2/3 of marriages end in divorce, i can't imagine buying the car without test driving first. (no offense, props to anyone who does it, but i personally was not taking the chance.)

And do you think I should try and arrange for a different officiant - since you had such a weird experience with yours? What was her name? Thanks- Britt we did a spiritual ceremony b/c we did the legal thing in nj a month before. i don't even know the name of the woman - we didn't talk to her, tip her, nothing. if you don't mind the word god in your ceremony, i think she'd be ok, but i obviously can't say for sure. she was trying to convert us into believers while marrying us. ask gaby for the name of the large lady in the blue muumuu who married lauren and keith.
  5. lizz, you look beautiful! i like the one where the boys are holding you.
  6. welcome back!!! can't wait to hear all about it!!!

I'm wondering if I should call her or just wait.... it takes her awhile sometimes;she plans weddings and is a waitress. email her again tomorrow and write something like 2nd try as the subject. then forward the email that you sent and put "did you get this?" at the top. 8. dh owns his own business (mortgages), and used to make 6 figures....before the market started to suck. he has a degree in graphic design and a degree in communications, and is a salesman by nature, so has always worked for commission.
  9. YAY congrats glenda!!! yari's right - a loss is a loss! those of you instituting salad tuesdays - there is nothing better than a chef salad for dinner on a hot summer day. i get bagged lettuce, cukes, fresh baby corn, peppers, and some tomatoes for dh, and get 1/2 inch slabs of roast beef (for dh), turkey and cheese at the deli counter. i keep the meats/cheese on the side so i can weigh/measure it before i put it in my salad. i bought the asian spray dressing (ken's) which is really good, and it actually sticks to the lettuce. all together, it winds up being about 4-5 ww points, depending on how much turkey/cheese i put in. i also have enough salad for a few days after.
  10. everything looks fantastic! and - i'm assuming that's rayden - he looks SO cute!!!
  11. other than my dyson, i'd have to say my prada boots. they are flats, almost like hightop sneakers w/o laces, and i found them at century 21 for $100 or so (retailed for about $650!!!) they are SO comfortable and perfect to wear all winter.

  13. i lost 1.8, which i'm happy about b/c last week i was the biggest winner i weigh in on tuesdays at ww, but i weighed myself today at the gym (for shits and giggles, and b/c i was wearing heavy pants yesterday) and i'm down 1.5 on top of the 1.8...i'm sticking w/ the original 1.8 tho, b/c i'll save a big one for next week!!! i was SO good everyday except saturday, when i had like 4 glasses of sangria (hey, that's fruit!!) and mixed drinks. i've been working out 3x/wk on average, and am feeling better about myself already - even though i've only lost a total of .4 since the contest began!!
  14. i'm a lowly teacher living in jersey, one of the most expensive states to live in. i make a little over $40k. if i lived alone, i could not afford to own a house where i am, and probably would be working to pay rent. we can do a poll about spouses...but do we say what they made before the mortgage industry went sour, or now??
  15. i wanted those sooooooooo badly for my oot bags, but ikea was out of them by then. SO perfect!
  16. the mattresses are hard, but nowhere near what people on tripadvisor bitch about. that being said, they are much better if you're in the club tower than the other tower. the pillows are hard - what we didn't know is that there are 5 different kinds of pillows, and you can just call room service and ask for a different kind (it's in the room menu thing). when we went to walmart, we bought $5 pillows b/c we were there for almost 2 weeks. left the pillows there when we left. bedding is fine, sheet and light blanket i believe, all in good shape.
  17. i say send that exact script to the officiant/hotel. tell them - don't ask - that this is what you want. they don't need to memorize it, but they have ample time to look it over.
  18. i used to find models' pics and put them on the mirror and fridge, but it doesn't work unless they're pics of me...that will motivate me.
  19. have you asked the hotel what you can change? it is YOUR wedding, and you are paying for it..... i think you should leave benjamin and monica in there tho. that would be a nice touch! (btw, my officiant called me laurel instead of lauren, and it was pretty funny)
  20. i love the ribbons on the table! everything looks fantastic!
  21. by making the donation, i trusted that the mods would do whatever was in ann, paul, and gwen's best interest. i'm proud to be a part of such a great group.
  22. i don't know what i'd do if i was at that wedding. TACK-YYYY!
