  1. what about using swimmies? the ones for kids arms...could you buy them, split up the pack and personalize them/write something so people know what they're for? i think it's the perfect size.
  2. ohh, that's a fun toy! i like that it's small!!!
  3. oh yeah, also - - thanks for the help ladies! if any of you are gonna be around on 11/22 (FOREVER away, i know), come join us after dinner for some drinks!!! i'll remind you closer to the date
  4. ok ladies, i'm back. anyone ever hear of kion lounge? i just got off the phone w/ the event coordinator, mario, who was so nice on the phone. he said it's my party and they'll accommodate me in every way possible. it's $35 prix fix dinner (3 courses) and he'll give me open bar for $40/pp for 3 HOURS!!! AND, we'll have a private room and it's clubby later at night - but the dj isn't set for nov, so he can't tell me if it'll be indie rock or hip hop.... Kion Restaurant thoughts?
  5. wow michelle, i think that's REALLY tacky. we didn't have an ahr, and i didn't want a shower, but my sister threw one for me. i registered, so got mostly items on my registry, and then ppl who wanted to give us a wedding gift mailed us a check or whatever once we were married. i don't think you have to open cards. at the end of the party, when you say goodbye, just say thanks for the gift card, or thank you for the generous gift.
  6. i'm not in bl3, but i'm still trying to maintain my weight...right now i'm having veggie soup from the sacred heart diet...i think i'm addicted to it. Gotta get back to my all nighter... back in january, when i was working w/ a personal trainer, he told me that even if i'm sore, i should still walk a lot b/c it keeps your blood flowing - even if it hurts, don't stay stationary.
  7. it's your day - do whatever you want! everyone here did something different. some people go alone, some bring tons of people, some just sign the papers, and some actually have a ceremony. we brought our immediate family and bil's fiance. we went to lunch after. dh wore jeans, i wore a cute white sundress (in january...). our anniversary is 2.16.08, the day we got married in pv. get your hair done and consider it a hair trial, if you want.
  8. so strangely enough, i wound up going to le souk last night...and realized i had been there about a year and 1/2 ago! it's a fun place and dh had a good time...i have to look into their packages tho...their food was decently priced - we had a 4 course meal with TONS of leftovers for $45/pp. however...the pitchers of sangria, which tasted like watered down fruit juice - like no alcohol in them - were $45/pitcher. EDIT: he walked in as i was typing this so had to close quickly. will update tomorrow night - have a wedding tonight.
  9. i live in morris township, nj. morris township is built around morris plains, which is built around morristown - picture it like an uneven archery target. because it's uneven, my development is the only part of morris township for miles. the difference between township and plains is the school system, and township has the better one. so we live on the shit side of township, but have the good schools anyway. our neighborhood is quiet. lots of families and young couples starting out. some people are friendly, and most people say hi. funniest thing is that our neighbors are lauren and keith lauren drove the same car as me when we first moved in too. our neighbor on the other side is a junk collector and has no running water. he's creepy as hell...his mother owns the house and the two lots, but she's 90+ and in a nursing home. the township has tried to take the house away from him b/c he hasn't paid taxes in years but b/c the house is in her name, they can't do anything until she croaks. he's recently been in jail for telling the mother's nurse that hitler should have finished the job....
  10. your pics are so beautiful!!!! i love the color of the bm dresses ... and how brave were you to let the photog take an ass close up?
  11. great pics! i like the B&W where your hair is in your face.
  12. in my case, it wasn't really the ta that upgraded us - it was the resort who realized we were bringing in 15 rooms and told the ta they'd upgrade us..... so for the ta to say that she'd TRY is unacceptable. tell her you were a little taken aback when you realized what she had done, and that you hope from now on, she gives you a courtesy call to discuss any changes...this is your wedding and YOUR vacation, not hers.
  13. i agree with maura. she needs to tell you these things first. i think she should be responsible for that $180 now...or some kind of credit to the hotel for around the same amount...
  14. i think they're fine! might be cheaper if you do them yourself tho.....(if you're interested)...
  15. a regular glass of wine is only 2 pts....but a spritzer makes it go a long way!
  16. here's a link to the list starbucks released. 600+ (618?) closing, w/ biggest % in CA (88 stores). use the drop down list to see your state. Starbucks closings - New Jersey - from CNNMoney.com
  17. carly they look great! the 2nd one doesn't look real - looks like a backdrop!
  18. if it's the day after, and you're a drinker, i'd go w/ afternoon....we did early morning and were fine...but my hangover catches up with me midday...
  19. originally i thought somewhere in vegas, but there are so many places, that i can't see one specific one being a 'factory'...
