  1. i have the old yellow dyson - the one before the ball, and not the animal. we have hardwood floors throughout, except in the basement, so when dh bought it, i laughed b/c who needs a heavy duty vacuum for hardwood? he totally gave me an "i told you so" b/c it's fabulous! it sucks up EVERY cat hair. the canister is always filled when i'm done vacuuming - which grosses me out, but then again, i don't vacuum too often. the only complaint i have is that it's NOT light - not terribly heavy, but hard for me to bring back down the stairs. it does have a huge reach, like jenn said, and is good on stairs and my microfiber couches. i love my dyson.
  2. i'd ask the first ta to match the prices. that's a lot of money!
  3. i'm sorry steph! dh lost his at the wedding, in the bottom of the pool. his brother had to jump in and search for it b/c even tho we were in the pool at the time, dh doesn't know how to swim. I guess I leave that up to him but I do like the physical evidence that we are married. I am not a jealous person but he is laid off (permanently displaced) right now and when he does get a new job I would like a ring on his finger as a back off sign..lol Ok maybe I have some closet jealousy..lol I am hoping it just turns up but if not I guess we will be ring shopping soon. I am thinking we would just get the same ring since we both liked it so much that was my thinking when dh got his new job. he wore his ring to the interview, but not a day since. he HATES wearing it. NO! abbie, i bought one from there for dh, hoping he'd wear it since it was the right size and a lot lighter than the original...but no. glad i didn't waste tons of money on it!
  4. i went to a long distance shower about a year ago, and in the invite, it said something like "XX is registered at macys and bbb. when selecting a gift, please remember that XX is flying home after the festivities." she came to the shower with only a few things in 2 suitcases and wound up going back w/ lots of stuff, but nowhere near the amount that she would have had if ppl hadn't shipped/given gift cards.
  5. i was wondering where you had been lately - apparently planning 2 weddings!!! glad you had a great time.
  6. how did i miss this thread all day? they are beautiful, maura! i love the 'almost-kiss'!
  7. you can't ask someone not to be in it at this point. i don't think it'll look weird at all. we had 3 bms and 2 bms and it was perfect.
  8. what great pictures! you look like you were having such a great time! and the one with the kid sleeping sitting up is hysterical!

It's by the Princeton Marketfair which is a bonus if anyone wants to do any shopping (although I warn, it's not a full blown mall by any means, just a few stores). PF Chang's is right next to it. For the train people though it's a little more tricky. There is a train stop in Princeton, but you'd still need to actually drive to the restaurant Lauren, did you go to TCNJ or something? yes, i did go to tcnj...and hated it, but that was b/c i was a transfer student. you're right about katmandu - not off the beaten path, but much more accessible to philly/pa people. anyone have a vote as to where? for the record, i have no clue where the trains are around there...(i do, however, know that the best hibachi EVER is at bonsai on quaker bridge road. but that's just a tidbit of info for you central/south jersey folks).
  10. i went to school in trenton, but i've never eaten at katmandu; just been there to drink and party like a rock star. i do know that it's kinda off the beaten path - maybe somewhere on route 1 would be better? pf changs and on the border are great suggestions. i think they're in lawrenceville...?
  11. i think oot bags and favors are plenty. there's no reason to give a gift - you're the one getting married! as far as a RD, why not casually tell people to meet you for drinks? if you don't send an invite or anything, people will be less likely to assume that you'll be buying. when you see them there, you could just say, "hey, we'll probably be at XXX bar at XX:00, if you're not doing anything, you should meet us there!" no one forced them to come, and they should NOT be expecting anything.

Yamille - this is provided I can figure out how to get there from the city... yamille, if we wind up near a train station, someone could pick you up. i can if it's around here (morristown), but idk where train stations are south of here. 13. i'm sorry kate....i'm glad you got to see him tho.

  15. i didn't wear a garter or throw my bouquet there were no 'ceremonies' - sand, unity, etc. no flower girl/ring bearer no religious ceremony no tux both parents walked me down the aisle, but that's jewish tradition uneven bridal party (3 bms, 2gm) we weren't going to do the hora (jewish tradition), but a guest put me on a chair and told guys to lift me...but instead of doing it to the correct song, the dj was playing beastie boys 'sabatoge'. i'm sure i'll think of more.
