i posted a pic in the 'show your wedding dress' thread, but i suppose i can post it here too........... lol the train is scalloped like the top and it's very light...it's very me oh yeah, and i will NOT be donning the gloves...

we just received an engagement gift from our registry - what do we use for thank yous? just regular store bought thank you cards, or should we quickly order personalized cards? what did you do?

I BOUGHT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well, i brought my nj attitude and wound up buying it, lol.... the lady was all "it's not the same dress" and i was all "um, yeah, it is!" and the lady was all "i won't make money" and i was all "well, i buy from a local store, or i buy from the internet and have someone else do my measurements and fittings...but that's up to you" and she was all "well, let me check my books" and she showed me that she'd be making $100 profit + alterations on the dress, instead of $200+, and said she didn't want to lose my business....then she went on for 10 minutes about how she doesn't buy new dresses b/c she has to buy them in groups of 16, and no one will buy the new dressed b/c they can find them on the internet, yadda, yadda, yadda..... dress: originally $510, now $407 hollow to hem alterations: originally $125, now $100 alterations afterward (bust and whatnot): who knows... saving 20%: priceless.... *evil laugh*

Ben's Bargains - Bargains, Coupons, Freebies is a good place to find coupon codes...they have for EVERYTHING but on their front page there is usually a bunch of technology stuff...also, i think it was on their page that we found 50-60% off of vistaprint.com!

ours is everyday is a holiday with you by esthero...we thought it was appropro w/ the dw and all....

like i said, i didn't want to register (we're established, have a house, etc.), but once i did, i realized that if people WANT to give us presents, at least let it be stuff that i like...

we got engaged, set a date, and registered b/c so many people were asking questions. i didn't want to register, but my sister is throwing me a shower, so i had to...it definitely took a long time, and i recommend doing it there and updating online...there's a lot of stuff online that is not in stores, and a lot of merchandise overlap between stores. we registered for some of the kitchen stuff at macys, but then i thought about it and put it on the bed, bath, and beyond registry b/c ppl could use that 20%coupon that they always send out.

i wonder if they take a certain percentage when you're the seller, rather than the buyer...which means that you may be charged for each of our transactions...i have pay pal, and have no prob. using that, but if you'll be charged 2,183,390 times, then i'd rather send you a check - BUT i leave that up to you.... thanks for volunteering to order/collect/ship! that's really kind of you! and maria, thanks for putting it together!!!! and glenda - make sure you bail your chick out of jail - i may wind up needing more!!!

i'd marry keith regardless, but i also find myself staring at it....for the last few months before we got engaged, every time it came up he'd groan and be a 'typical man', but it was only b/c he was plotting and scheming...so my final vote is let it happen when it happens. HOWEVER, even before we got engaged, we discussed putting him under my health insurance. i'm a teacher, w/ great benefits, and he pays something like $400/mo...some insurance companies in NJ will allow you to do this if you are co-habitating (an anti-gay amendment) - i don't know about PA though...also, once you're married, any debt of yours is his, and his becomes yours...this was a big reason k took so long - b/c my debt will be his....

they have orange ones... but i just tried an aqua marker near (but not next to) an orange marker on a white paper and it look like a mets game. i can settle for fuschia, aqua and ivory...OR should i just get the 24 randoms, add some ivory and call it a day...? edit: i'm getting all ivory. i can stop whining now.

k i'm having another issue....i wanted a flower color to be orange ... i could do aqua, turq. and ivory, but what color flowers would i have? orange doesnt match that....

if i got the 24 color one, do you think it would be 2 of each color shown?

my goodness, you are typing faster than i can read! can i be in? i was going to pm glenda for her go-to-lady's address, but now...... i'm another that has no clue how many i need...but i could estimate about 30...i'm going to look at the colors right now....

so i found THE DRESS. went to a bunch of places, tried on styles, colors, etc. found THE DRESS - am in LOVE with it! it's $130 cheaper online. incl. having it custom made for me b/c i'm short. how can i ask the ppl at the store? i'd rather buy it from ppl than online.... anyone been thru this? danke (yeah, i'm a little smile happy!)

what about the groomsmen wearing the same thing, but no jacket? keith is wearing a beige/khaki suit (should he ever go shopping) with a white linen shirt under, untucked, no tie..the 2 groomsmen are going to wear beige/khaki pants and a white shirt, no jacket, no tie. my BMs are wearing white dresses from white house, black market.

oh i like those bags! i bought mine at the rag shop, but i haven't tried ironing anything on yet...i hope that it works b/c the bags are super thick... our monogram is the pic in my sig, but for the bags, we are going to switch our names with puerto vallarta so our names will be tiny.

i'm going shopping w/ momz on thursday and until today, i thought i wanted something plain, no train, light and relatively comfy...now i'm all about the 30 pound alfred angelo's and maggie sottero's. so how do i narrow it down? do i just walk into one of the 23,908,211,094,372 bridal places in the tri-state area and hope something pops out at me? i have a list of about 15 places to visit w/ my mom...i can't imagine getting thru 5 w/o getting frustrated. any advice? lauren

as of today, white and orange....maybe a little beige...but the bridal party is wearing white.

i've heard good things about cinque terre, but was never there...i was in venice (too touristy), bologna (probably the dirtiest city i was ever in; saw a drug deal go wrong as we got off train), and faenza, which is the tiniest little town, about an hr from bologna. we went there to see an alanis morissette concert, which was awesome. the town was SO cute, and had a little town square that would be perfect for any kind of ceremony. however, there wasn't much to do in town, and not many places to stay... so i'm not much help

i'm kinda confused...marilu (dreams pv) sent me a completely different menu and told me that the dishes on that menu were the options, and i was to pick 1 dish for each course....if this is amresorts menu, and dreams pv is part of amresorts, do i have this choice too? i like this menu MUCH better!
