  1. we registered at macy's and bbb...we didn't need a lot of the traditional stuff, like china, so we just registered for everything that we would want and never buy for ourselves....for the wedding, jewish people typically give money, so the presents would solely be for the shower. if you are thinking about registering at crate and barrel, make sure that you check out CB2 - a new destination from Crate and Barrel for modern furniture, home accessories, and gift registry. they have awesome stuff there....and if you're into modern housewares, check out Contemporary furniture, modern furniture, contemporary home décor, contemporary home accessories, modern home decor, modern home accessories. they have a registry there too!
  2. i love the curls! i'm sure whatever you wind up with will be beautiful

  5. mmmm if you like reese's peanut butter cups, you'll love this...i've made this for company and it always goes over well! i found the following at hungry-girl.com, but it's from aimee's adventures. Fluff-tastic Frozen Peanut Butter Cups We found this awesome recipe on the Aimee's Adventures site. Aimee has tons of great recipes! These frozen peanut butter treats are almost too good to be true. Top each cup with a dollop of chocolate syrup. Freeze. Serves: 12 Per Peanut Butter Cup: 73 Calories; 2g Fat, 2g Protein; 10 carbs, Fiber: 0g (2 WW points if you're counting)

    Hi!

welcome to my life...unproductive welcome to the board and congrats on the engagement!!!
  9. you COULD ask where she will travel to...give her a list and have her choose (if you want to involve her that much) - does your FMIL think that florida is as bad as mexico? what about caribbean islands? you wouldn't have to give up the beach.... if you don't want to involve her, tell her to suck it up b/c you're doing what you want to do i know what you mean about shaking her and saying "what's wrong w/ you??" i feel like doing that to my whole family right now!
  10. your book is awesome! i'll have to show k, he's been futzing (sp? is it a real word?) around w/ a lot of photoshop-type programs....maybe he'll find some good pics of us and make a book.... great idea!

  12. thanks girls!!! hehe, i wish i could get a pic of it, but in the middle of the back are the lyrics to our song..under the lyrics it says "keith and lauren, 2007. do not feed or water after midnight. no valid in kentucky. call within the next five minutes and receive an additional wedding for the low low price of $19.95. supplies limited, act now. eat your vegetables." we're wondering how many people will actually notice the fine print Quote: Originally Posted by foxytv Wow ... those are awesome. I'm still struggling with mine... the daisy thing-a-ma-jig came from michaels, in the aisle that has all of the funky scissors and hole punchers. there is no REAL template...keith designed the whole thing himself, using adobe illustrator (i think that's the program)...but if you're planning on having vistaprint print them for you, i'm pretty sure there's a template on their website. i'll ask him if there's any other info he could give you.
  13. welcome! you found this site just in time!
  14. ah, never been to kent...i was in st. john's wood - the american section of london
  15. not sure if this was ever posted anywhere, but if your passport is less than a year old when you get married, you can get a new one w/ your married name for FREE!!! i just had to renew mine and was debating whether to wait until after b/c the wedding is in feb. and it would expire in march, but once i found that out i decided not to take any chances. now the s.s. thing and the license pic. are things i'm NOT looking forward to.

We are both Canadian and from Thunder Bay, Ontario (where all of our family/guests will be coming from) but Sarah and myself (this is her fiance now) live in London, England. We've been here for about 5 months now. So, we will be leaving and planning the wedding from England. Our families will be coming from Thunder Bay. . .and we'll all meet up in the middle in the DR. A further question, has anybody compared paradisus palma real to Excellence Punta Cana? We like the look of excellence and the packages that they offer (their gold package is quite nice!). But I do see a lot of people selecting PPR. . . any thoughts behind the decision? If so please share! Thank everyone, Myles oh oh oh where in london? i used to live there and miss it SO much!!!!!!!
  17. aw - tami, i'm just reading your post now, and MAN does that suck!!!! i can deal with a lot of things, but liars, thieves, and cheaters are my BIGGEST pet peeves...hopefully, karma will kick the person in the a$$....
  18. kate, i think that's awesome! i wish i could convince FI to take lessons w/ me!!!!! Quote: Originally Posted by foxytv That is SSSSOOOO awesome! He loves Frank Sinatra so if we can learn one of his songs, it would be so cool! I wish we had a "wedding reception survival" course here! That has got to be hilarious!!! I might have to call some dance studios and recommend it!!! nope, bet keith's worse!!!! when he drinks, he's the male version of elaine from seinfeld...if he hasn't had a drink, he's not likely to get on the dance floor, but the few times i've dragged him on, he looks like this:
  19. i despise cooking...but i do it...i'm not creative enough, and have a tendency to cook the same few thing over and over...keith likes to cook, so if he's home early enough (quite rare), he'll cook...he despises cleaning, and i don't mind it, so it works out well. we do, however, eat out 2-3x/week...we don't believe in cooking on the weekends (i bumped this b/c he's currently in the kitchen, complaining about the 3 dishes in the sink that he has to wash, and whining about how gross the kitchen is - there's mail on the counter.. - and every time his ADD kicks in, he leaves the water running and goes upstairs for something...)
  20. i think that's the best name i've ever heard!!!
  21. k, here's the STD (magnet, approx. 4x6): and our pamphlet (tri-fold): front: inside: another inside: full view of outside: keith made all of them and we had them printed by vistaprint.
  22. a few days ago, i asked what you girls did for engagement thank yous...i couldn't find a generic thank you card that i liked (except those which were like $4/card, which IMO is absurd) SO, i bought regular notecards, and a pop-up daisy-shaped hole punch...duh, easiest, cheapest card ever... here's a copy of my DIY - sorry it's so dark, it was hard to capture the pop-up part w/ the flash, so had to shut it off...it's also standing in a plastic thing in the 2nd pic, so don't mind the sticker looking thingy on the bottom... i also punched a hole in the envelope flap, and covered it w/ our return address stamp, which is see-thru. i'll post my STD's in a sec....
