I sent mine out about 10 months in advance. And I also just sent my invites out about two weeks ago, my wedding is on 10/4/08. My guests have commented that the timing was great on both.

I'm having the same issues with my wedding. I'm giving the guests that go to Mexico a welcome bag with a mug and other little goodies so I don't think I'm going to give out favors at the wedding. However, our placecards are mini maracas with each person's name on them so they will be able to take those home as a small momento. Where is your DW? That might help you get better feedback...

I can't believe I did this, I actually bought a dress from Ebay and I love it! I knew I loved the designer (Pronovias)La Sposa's soft collection and had tried on a few of their gowns at a shop here in Wisconsin. I then went on a mission to see if I could find a picture of the dress I liked online...I did but it was slightly different because it was from last years collection and had a "yoke" neckline besides that the dress was almost exact. So I ordered it from this wonderful seller on Ebay who owns a bridal shop in California for HALF the price that the store wanted and it arrived yesterday. It is brand new, never worn and still has all the tags on it (she had 4 others in my size). I knew when I pulled it out of the box that it was IT. A friend of my mom who is a seamstress is removing the lace on the neck and making it strapless for me. So you have to imagine it without that part...but this is it! I highly recommend checking out this woman's stuff on Ebay, she carries a lot by Pronovias and is super nice and professional. PM me if you want her info. This picture doesn't really do it justice. It sparkles like crazy in person and the lace is very detailed. I'll try and take a pic of me in it when FI isn't around! Here it is on the model:

If anyone is concerned about filling a huge bag, consider getting a smaller OOT bag. I ordered these from Oriental Trading. I'll be giving one per person and I should be able to fit a travel mug, a few snacks, some advil, pepto and our itinerary in it. The "fabric" of the bag is almost like a rubbery/vinyl texture so I thought it would be great to put a wet suit in if our guests decide to swim the last day before heading home.
