It's really unfortunate that urban legends like this exist. There was a novel written in the 80s that may have spurred these rumors. I'm a donor. I agree with sarah. When I die they can use every piece of me to do some sort of good with.

Becks' planning thread **Pic Heavy**

looks great. I like your funny pronunciation guide I'm dissapointed you didn't add, "but, customs officer he is a seeing eye ferret." -

Also they are not raw files. It does look like it has been corrected. Are the prints possibly with enhanments the files don't have? you can still order prints of these the way they are & they will look nice. Or you can do some enhancing in photoshop if you want.

Maybe there are more, but i just don't know if they are brides or grooms. And then there are the photographers.

Maybe one of the reasons for that is that it's full of sweet understand women who don't jump on you the first chance they get like a lot of men would! This stress free and inviting environment saved me a ton of time with resort referrals, photographer referrals, and personal member testimonies. I really don't know what I would have done without it! All I can say is that I was very lucky that someone on the PriceScope Forum referred me where when I was gathering information on jeweler vendors for my wife's wedding ring. Again, I can totally vouch for this! vBulletin.org Forum - The Official vBulletin Resource! I think this is what the forum is run with. We've had atleast 2 active grooms. Then several male photographers. Definitly more women than men, but men are welcome. Also, several grooms have joined & posted a few times.

rodent replied to becks's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I think Tami had a problem with discount mugs too & got to keep the cast-offs. I'm pretty sure they sent the replacements ASAP too. it will all workout. nibblets calls dibs on a cast-off -

you will probably end up with 2 times to mugs now. so maybe you can pass out the rejects at your AHR or something. Oh, I just realized they don't have your name on them. You can probably sell the rejects for less money to someone getting married at RM. If my wedding hadn't passed I would have bought some. good luck! -

Hmmm, I think sometimes "digital negatives" refers to RAW files. Have you checked to see if the ones on your CD are even high enough resolution to make prints? they might just be proofs on a CD. Do you have the description of what your photographer said they would give you? Find out if you have the rights to reprints. You can't just take a pro pic in & have it reproduced. Most places won't do that unless you have a statement that you have the right to do it. If you can find the wording on your contract/ their website we can probably figure it out.

i think the weight limit is 2 bags at 50 lbs. i'm not sure but you might want to double check. as far as the pillow, i have a pillow that has a strap on it. when i fly I clip it to my purse. i don't think a pillow will even count as one of your personal items. I always have a carry on, a minibackpack, & a pillow clipped to the backpack. I'm a total dork when i fly.

When I google it to get the true quote, I find everything from fish, to cattle to pigs. Can you ask your bff what the guy really said?

I remember the quote as "I'll hunt you down & slaughter you like cattle."

What I would and wouldn't do again...

I think if I gave him more direction it would have worked out better. I have read other brides saying that juan doesn't take many details pictures. I believe it's best not to give your photographer a big list of pics because you can inhibit creativity. But, when you look through several of their previous weddings & see that they don't tend to take a certain type of picture it can't hurt to ask for a few "must-haves." I forgot to pack an invitation for a details shot, but I packed an extra program & some other extras. mostly as backup. But, once i started unpacking I realized i should put them to the side for kristie to photograph. I think it helped her get some details shots without having to waste time rounding things up. She just threw that stuff in a sack & ran out to the beach with it. So my advice (and something I would do better if I did it again) would be to fill a sack with things you want photographed. Things like programs, invitations, etc. I've been in several weddings where the bride spent time trying to hunt down the details stuff with the photographer. So if you plan ahead you can save some valuable time & be more relaxed. I also wish i didn't forget to take an extra invitation so it could have been in the mix with the other things on the beach. It was also really fun to see all my stuff have an adventure without me. I didn't know where my ring & programs had been until I saw the pictures. But, then details like shoes, veils & dresses are not something you can throw in a sack. So I guess future juan carlos brides should just let him know in advance they want more details shots. -
The ferret thread formerly known as "Bringing food into cabo" lol

I tried to follow the link back to see what Cleetus was up to, but realized it was hosted on your photobucket account. I saw you had a picture of nibblets trashing the fur -

yeah it really varies by timeline. Make sure to allow plenty of time to take the romantics. You don't want to feel rushed. We did an hour before the cermeony & 1- 1 1/2 after. Then some more after dinner in the ocean. if you have a photographer picked out talk to them abou scheduling. They know more about good times for lighting & how much time is ideal to allow for certain things.

Photographer or not???
rodent replied to zorlack76's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
they are in the wedding party? will they be standing up front? if so they won't be taking pictures during the ceremony. I think it would depend on if they want the responsibility of capturing the whole wedding day. they may be in vacation mode, so even if they are snapping pictures, they will not be trying to capture everything. Like maybe they'd be more interested in photographing the beach or something else. So i would definitly talk to them before assuming they are going to be your wedding photographer. -
then it looks like print quality will really matter too. have you considered ordering a print from each? I know the print quality of snapfish & shutterfly don't do a photographers work justice. but, i want to get the bulk of my pictures printed for an album that probably few people other than me will look at. so the 1cent prints I have will really save me some money. the coffee table book i make is what I will share with others because it will just have the highlights. I'm probably the only person that will want to flip through 600 pictures from the wedding. For the favorites that I will frame & give as gifts, I will order from mpix.

UPDATE: Morgan thank you for the list of pros & cons - this is EXACTLY the kind of info i am looking for. has anyone ordered products from kodak? I'm very price driven so my reviews tend to focus more on cost I have only ordered the products from kodak I mention. They were great. The pictures were printed on a tile. I'll find the thread with pictures of them. I can not compare the quality of the 3 photobooks. Once I order the snapfish books I'll do a comparison. The lack of high res images completely takes shutterfly out of the equation for me. I'd consider snapfish or kodak. There is probably a review out there somewhere.
