You have that effect in there in a couple of shots & I thought it was just too cute! Thanks, I liked those parts the most too. I did it for any set of pictures where we had a series. I think there was too much zooming in & out especially in the beginning. But, it looks so dull with no transition. I relized yesterday that the transition i should have used was a cross fade to blend the 2 pictures. Unfortunately the file I can edit is gone now. We had to clear a bunch of stuff out of WMM to make it work last night. But, the video I'm currently working on will be much better. I will just need to start from scratch.

I haven't done that yet. but when you save it, there are options for how to save it as a movie to be more compatible. it's a menu that pos up. Premiere is overwhelming. but I think i'll be able to do exactly what i want with it once I learn how it works.
  3. i'm redoing the video. i decided i need less zooming & more blending the pictures. i'm also adding video. but WMM couldnt handle it (kept crashing) so mike got me adobe premiere for my bday. now i have a whole new program to learn. its a beast like photoshop. i bought a book because there is no way im teaching myself.
  4. I'm from south texas but I have never been to SPI. We always went to port aransas, but I would not suggest that for a trip where you need to fly. it's not that different from any other beach town. i think it's only spring breaky when mtv shows up.

I read that tungsten & titanium are probably safer if someone's finger got crushed. Gold & platinum would bend & tungsten & titanium would stay in shape which would be safer for the finger. And ERs can cut them off. Some of the stuff I read was that jewelers probably tell people that because there is less money to be made off tungsten & titanium. Mike's ring came from the same website abbie posted. It's gorgeous & only cost $8.75. I'm sure the jewelry stores don't like that there is such an affordable option.
  6. There are a lot of places on my wish list, but the next big trip might be Romania. We found out today Mike's uncle is moving there so we might go visit. I don't know anything about Romania, but it's near the Czech Republic which I'd like to visit. I did a quick google search & it looks beautiful.
  7. I had to see what all the fuss was about the dreams tulum thread. Wow I can not believe how much work you put in to that. And after your wedding just to help out the other DT girls. You are also my mrs nomination. That thread is going to help so many people. great job!

Just an idea. yes, i was thinking if I was a shopper the window of a store would be really cute. But, I'm not a shopper. I do most of my stuff online to avoid going to a store. But, someone carrying bags walking by a shoe store looking in would be a neat picture. There is definitly nothing interesting with my car door. I just wanted to see how reflective it was. If I do the door picture again I'm going to make it more exciting. I have this imagage in my head that is going to make me look crazy in front of my neighbors. I saw a cool picture the other day taken from someone's rear view. I'll give it a try. There are more pictures on my blog now. I photographed mike playing frisbee golf this morning.
  9. I got mine 11 months before. I was buying off the rack so I wanted to do it while white was still in stores. it was nice to have it done early.
  10. Here are my best shadow pics. I adjusted the curves & layers a little different in each. Any feedback on the lightness or darkness of any? It's probably a cheesy idea, but I was thinking about photoshopping my wedding ring onto the shadow. I took some with my hand up. 1 2 3 4 i think i overdid the curves on this one. 5 quick pic of my reflection in the car. I'm going to wash off the dirt & take some more.
  11. wonderful pictures. I didn't see your siggy pic on the blog. I love it. It was supposed to rain on my wedding so I was looking for interesting pictures in the rain. I love seeing someone make the most of bad weather. It doesn't look like it got in the way of your fun at all. The reception looks like a blast!

She made me the amazing ferret engagment story, makes us all laugh, and always goes out of her way to help people out. I need to think about my Mrs nomination. Too many choices.
  13. this is cool. if i can find a reflective surface that has something to do with me. My car might be shiny enough. hmmm, maybe mike wants to wax it

I'm going to try to keep my blog updated with what I'm learning in class. There is a link in my siggy to it. OK off to look for my shadow like a groudhog.
  15. this is what I had in mind. but, with my shadow cast across something that represents me somehow. Like a distinctive building on duke campus. or a trail I enjoy hiking.
  16. what do I buy to clean my camera? something like this? Amazon.com: Giottos Optical Cleaning Kit with Rocket Air Blaster, Brush & Liquid.: Electronics Something nicer? Something complete different? I have no clue about this. I should probably buy it locally to ensure I have it by next Saturday. One of the topics of my next class is cleaning our camera.
  17. I was way too prepared. My lens still hasn't arrived, so I borrowed a friends last night. I had a crash course last night in photography. I read the entire camera manual & practiced everything. I was really worried I would be lost for the first class because I had so little time with my camera. Instead I might have been the most prepared in the class. Many people hadn't bought their cameras yet. We covered all the basics today that I crammed into my head last night. Next week we head outside & start taking pictures. Today we only took pictures of the instructor walking. I won't bother posting those. My homework is to take a self portrait. I want to try doing something cool with my shadow. I took a picture once of my shadow on the beach that turned out nice. I'm not sure how to recreate that effect though. I know it was really sunny & midday. I'll have to pay attention to the sun & shadows this week. The other assignment is to take a picture of someone at night with a lot of artificial lights behind them. These are due in 2 weeks.

HAHA Do any of y'all remember when I got engaged down in Playa del Carmen and I wrote "PINK DANCING ELEPHANTS EVERYWHERE!!!!!"? It's still a running joke between me and Martin SO to you, http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t5841 I remember when Trisha was waiting for the proposal & someone told her to keep waiting and soon there will be pink dancing elephants everywhere. I was so confused.

  20. That was wonderful & so inspiring.
  21. I'm watching it now. I did not know this story but I can already tell its going to have a big impact on me. just reading the article made me tear up.

I started off as a photoshop junkie & I'm finally starting to take my own pictures. Actually started tonight. Planning a wedding has made many of us interested in photography. I look at blogs during most of my lunch breaks. It's so cool to see what people are doing with wedding photography. A lot of the aged pictures are done with photoshop & textures. I saw a picture the other day that was enhanced with some textures. It was such a cool transistion.
  23. Are you talking about matt & sol's photoshoot in the cave? Those were done with lights that had red & green filters. Matt explains the process on his blog. Pretty cool stuff.
  24. Tools --> options --> advanced --> picture duration But I think it only works for pictures you haven't added yet. Maybe there is a way to select all & shorten everything.
