Can't wait to see your edit. OK now that I got my program running (I needed a new codec whatever that means) its awesome. I'm just cutting out parts & moving stuff around. it might be a whole lot easier than i expected. I still don't know how to incorperate still images, but I'm making progress. I'm using tutorials on you tube to get started.

Can't wait to see your edit. So far the editing is hard!!! I keep running in to more problems. Tonight's problem is that when i import my file I only have audio. Last night I had audio & video. It's getting very frustrating, but I'm determined to do it.
  3. we went in march which should have been cold. but one day it was so sunny & warm. I actually wore a tank top all day.

I'd have to fly though. And I was invited to a wedding in Ohio a few weeks after that I'm not going to. So it would be completely wrong of me to still make a trip to Ohio to see ferrets. Is there another ferret bash later? That would be awesome if BDW club ferret had their first annual meeting.

The other reason I would have liked to do it myself (aside from saving money) is that I could have had in exactly what I wanted. I like it a lot as it is, but I wish there was more of the ceremony (right now there is just me walking down the aisle, our vows, and then us walking out. I would have liked to have a pan of our guests watching the ceremony, our first kiss. Not much more but just maybe two or three more 5 second clips) and less of us kissing at the end (just like you, there is a lot of that!). Good luck with the edit, can't wait to see the finished product. It better not be too good because then you'll have me wishing I did my own too Is it too late to get the raw footage somehow? I feel the same way that I couldn't trust someone to pick the highlights. I don't think they would know what I really want. Also, I want to have the entire ceremony, but I don't want to watch it all everytime. And it's also not what I'd want to share with everyone. I think I'd be really uncomfortable to watch the whole thing with a room full of people. I'll let you know how hard it ends up being. I hope to make some progress this weekend.
  6. My hotel officiant was the wedding coordinator & she was very easy to understand. I gave her the script I wanted used in advance & she got it just right. I have seen some videos where it was hard to understand the officiant. Maybe you can check with someone who has been married at your hotel before to see how their officiant is.
  7. Thanks for updating us & I'm glad it is with good news. I've been thinking about you since the last post.
  8. its great. i like there panning & zooming. i wish i could slow mine down like that. im going to try a better program.
  9. update our wedding video edit on Vimeo here is my edited wedding video. it's 16 1/2 minutes. the first 10 minutes are clips I've posted already, just reedited. the last 6 1/2 is the video fottage from after the wedding. I plan on making it nicer once I learn more about working with adobe premiere, but this version will do for our AHR. old text This is just the ceremony part. The ceremony on Vimeo The video was by Alejandro Gonzalez of www.cancunweddingvideos.com. He is part of mike canterell's team. I plan on making a highlights edit that has some video & some pictures. It's hard for me to watch the entire thing. It's just too much of me on video. Especially at the start of the ceremony. I'm so antsy & I'm being a total brat. It was just so hard to stand still with all the excitement. There is this part that zooms right up to my face. This is all the stuff that will end up on the editing room floor. But, then there are parts I love. So I think an edited version will be wonderful. I just need to learn how to use Adobe Premiere first. it's about 10 minutes. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, just wait for the highlights version. I hope to have it done in 2 weeks. I am really dissapointed that he dubbed another song over the song I walked down the aisle to. I could never get an answer on what they needed me to provide for music. I emailed claudia, & emailed/PMed Mike. So I gave them a disc with many MP3s & my email address incase they needed another MP3. I'm so upset that they didn't contact me & instead put another song in place of what I actually walked down the aisle too. The song I used was recorded by mike's friend. He spent days working on it. It was such a special part of our ceremony. But, I think I'll be able to edit it & make it how I want. I thought the music would just come from what was actually playing that day. I didn't know they had to record the music. Luckily I had put the processional song on that CD. But, the other song meant a lot more to me. ** If you hire Mike Canterell (or a team member) give them 4-5 songs for the video & all the music you used during the ceremony. This is the videographer for dreams cancun. If you hire a videographer through claudia rodriguez, this is who you are hiring. The other thing I'm dissapointed with is how much making out is in our other part of the video. I didn't have any opportunity to communicate with the videographer before the wedding. I didn't even know who was going to be our videographer. I tried to find out, but I only had 2 weeks & my emails were not getting returned. I wanted the video to be something we'd enjoy sharing with our family. My mom is the only one who has seen it & she didn't like that part because of all the kissing. After the wedding I was in such whirlwind that I wasn't really thinking about it. The videographer was directing the shots & kept saying, "kiss her." After we walked across the beach & I had some time to think I realized that almost all of the footage was kissing. So I told Mike that we should start doing other things on the video. So I like the video much more after we walked across the beach. Anyway, this is another thing I can take care of when i edit my video. I would definitly recommend them. But, it just would have helped a lot if I knew more about what goes into the video. The videos on the website are all highlights clips. I really had no idea what to expect from my video so i wasn't able to be as prepared to get what I wanted out of it. A big part of this problem is that I made the last minute decision to hire a videographer so I didn't have the time to learn what I needed to provide for music & think about what types of things I need to tell the videographer about what we wanted. I would have enjoyed more dancing & playing than just mugging down. Still, this will all be taken care of once I edit. Overall I am so happy I got the video. Just wanted to help others be prepared for what to expect.

Oh, & that ferret with the banana on my engagement story. I'm just so glad to have found this wild world of ferret raising. I had no idea this was going on. And I love how if we let google recharge for a few weeks they keep putting out more ferret fun.

I thought about doing the same with my dress, but I'm not sure that mine would look right short. I can't wait to see more pictures. The teasers so far look amazing.

  14. I really wanted our ceremony music to be rock/ alternative music. I enjoy classical music, but it doesn't have the same place in my heart as 90s alternative rock because that is what I grew up with. I still wanted the song I walked down the aisle to be instrumental. So mike's friend recorded an instrumental version of counting crows colorblind on the keyboard. Tonight on the knot I learned about the Vitamin string quartet. They play string versions of alternative rock songs. Vitamin Records - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Amazon.com: String Quartet Tribute to Incubus: Various Artists: Music an easy way to hear some samples. Amazon.com: The String Quartet Tribute to Dave Matthews Band: Dave / Ballard, Glen Matthews, Dave / Lessard, S. / Moore, L. Matthews, David J. Matthews, Michael J. McEvoy: Music I like how satellite sounds. I think it would make a great processional. thought I'd post incase someone else wanted to use it.

  16. Everything sounds amazing. I wondered why some people hate cilantro. i wouldn't if it tasted like soap to me. It's my favorite herb. I add way too much of it when i cook.
  17. I picked a less expensive AI & let people decide how long they wanted to stay. We made sure our parents were happy & then just told everyone else they could come if they wanted. I did spend a lot of time feeling guilty at first, but it was a waste of time. I made it easy for people to opt out. in the end we had 23 guests & a wonderful time. I really didn't want more than that. a big appeal to a DW for me was having it small. People actually thanked us for having a DW. They said it was the best vacation they had been on. So many people wrote that in our guest book. So I wish I would have not spent the first few months full of guilt & worries. It was a wonderul vacation for all of us. I am so happy I stuck with the DW plans. Oh, & people kept raving about the value of staying at an AI. Many had never been to an AI & they couldn't get over all the stuff included. my dad was the funniest. He kept trying to pay for everything & kept saying, "this is included?!?"
  18. Honeymoon ends in robbery, murder | NEWS.com.au this one has some more information
  19. With just 80,000 people living there Antigua's murder rate per head of population is more than three times that of New York. That's a really bad use of statistics when "tourism comprises 75 per cent of the economy". Really no point in figuring out stats based on the population. The other article says this The couple had spent two weeks on the island at the luxurious Cocos Hotel, and according to Andy Liburd, news editor of the Antigua Sun, were due to return home today. Mr Liburd said: "This is highly unusual. The last murder of a tourist was over 10 years' ago. But throughout the Caribbean there has been an increase in crime. Of course our island has not been unaffected by it." Is it possible they are trying to sensationalize the crime problem in the 2nd article?

  22. I love how the vajayjay cake bride said she enjoyed "smelling the wine & making a tornado." I felt terrible for the other groom. I was hoping she'd stand him up so he would get away from her. The rehersal dinner was terrible. Someone needs to talk some sense into her. I think the lady from NJ was faking it.

So the wedding night I went back in the room & threw on the TTD and went out into the ocean. I kept it on the balcony so it was dry by the next morning. So that poor dress got trashed 3 times in Mexico & had previously been trashed in jamaica by heidi. The sad thing is I didn't get enough. I want to trash more dresses. It was so much fun!
  24. I trashed the day before...and the night of & the morning after. We did the day before because we already had the trip to the cenote planned before we had photographers. The night of was a quick thing. The next day was with my friends. I wore a different dress.
