I love the storybook pictures too. i'm so inspired! i wish I knew some little kids here.
  2. getting some non-bostons in your portfolio? those are fantastic! I think my favorite is the peaking around the tree one.

I want to have drinks on the terrace next to the creperie. I'm going to see if we can work something out with decorations and drinks but no food. Do you remember what time the disco opened? I was thinking we could head over there then after a few drinks... I'm sure I could wait until we're down there to figure this out but I like to plan ahead! we had 25 & were able to talk them into dinner in the mexican restaurant at 6:30. 20 is the limit. ask in person. if you email they will say no for sure. there is that terrace between the mexican & itallian restaurants that would be great for drinks. that bar is never crowded. the disco opens at 11. we didn't want it to be a long night so we were already done by then, but some of our group went to the disco that night & had a blast. they play really bad music though. bad 80s stuff that you can't even dance too. the looky bar was never crowded either.

  5. also the online rates might just be for a limited number of rooms. still, look around & you might find a TA that gets you better rates.
  6. Julie Walton Shaver Photography I am finding lots of inpiration here
  7. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of Mike's nephews & niece this weekend while we were in Texas. I will probably do a family portrait session for his sister's family next time we are home. i'm learning photography so it will be great practice for me. I'm online looking for inspiration so i wondered if anyone knew of some great family portrait photographers or had some favorite pictures. I like the pictures where the photographer goes to the familes house & the kids are just playing. They have two kids that are around 4 or 5. I know bad aunt Morgan I don't keep up with their ages.
  8. i would check with the company. if it's a sales tactic I'd report them & buy elsewhere.
  9. there are lots of cheap places by dreams. your photographer might not be comfortable riding a bus at night with expensive equipment that far. there are places that are pretty cheap only a short walk from dreams.
  10. there are ruins near PDC that are not sacred. they are like old houses. still, i don't think they are anything amazing for a TTD.

In this case we should close the bar for 1 hour and nobody will can use it from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.I can propose you to have drinks on the beach in the ceremony area, the price is 9,-USD per person. I am adjoining a picture of a past event. (she didn't attach) 7:30-9 pm – dinner at buffet Elena will make the reservation of the separate area at the buffet. But the buffet open at 6:30PM, normally the group must have the dinner when the restaurant open. You can have the dinner later but this is subject to availability. 9-11 pm – DJ The DJ service will be at the “Pure Chill Out Bar”. Like I told you before, the rent of the bar is 500,-USD per hour. The rate include the private place, the basic decoration and the private service. Now the rate for the DJ service is 100,-USD per hour. The service include the DJ, the microphone for all announcement or toast and the equipment bigger than for just a background music. This is won’t include the beverage, the price is 9,-USD per person. We're at the end of our budget, but I want to have a dj... what do you guys think? Does anyone know where the chill out bar is? I also asked for '09 prices... I'll post those as soon as I get them! i don't know what the pure chill out bar is. my guess is that it is this one right by the pool on the yucatan side. it's not really in a great location. well, by 6:30pm there wouldn't be lots of people in the pool. there is a really nice bar upstairs in the area of the itallian & mexican restaurants. we did champagne on the beach & then guests were on their own until dinner. everyone really liked having that break. many people put on cooler clothes & went to have ice cream. i think drinks on the beach would be nicer than the bar by the pool if that is the pure chill out bar. also, they already have a sound system set up. we put together a mix that played after the ceremony. they let it run atleast 30 minutes while we were toasting & taking the group picture. it was still playing while we were taking our pictures. I put the mix together & faded the songs together so it was like having a DJ. it wouldn't work for a dance. how many people are you having? we had 23 counting us. we used the 2 included bottles of champagne & gave them back the one they put in our room. that was plenty for a mini-reception right after. it was hot & i don't think people would have wanted to hang out much longer. we didn't have to pay doing it this way. the looky bar was never crowded. if you don't have a lot of guests & just told them to meet at the looky bar right after it could work. the beach area next to it is nice for pictures so you could get in your pictures at that time.

Great job, your guests are going to feel so welcome! i didn't do a site visit either. it was fun to see the place after a year of planning a trip. the wedding was in June & yes, the guests did really appreciate all the planning.

I am totally thinking of stealing your steamy night pictures idea i like the rocky beaches. there are sandy parts that you definitly don't need shoes for. the only time i needed shoes was when we walked out on this really sharp spot to take some pictures. that was actually in front of dreams PA next door. yep symbolic means no judge so you should be able to book now. just keep emailing. i made several phone calls.
  14. wespent the night together. we don't sleep well alone & i didn't want to miss out on vacation time with him. all of my friends came as couples. if i had a bunch of single girls & he had guys there I could see splitting up for a girly slumber party. but, we would have just been alone & I know I wouldn't have slept. we parted ways after 11am when my hair dresser arrived & saw each other at 2:30 for pre ceremony pictures.
  15. looks great! i'm excited to see what you do with it this weekend.
  16. i did a test, but didn't have time to upload the pic. i know- bad BDWer. but I got a computer virus this week. the funny thing is my mom's hair style also involves fake hair. so we are both going to show up at this fancy salon with little critters (that's what it looks like- a critter). i'll have pics to post by monday at the latest.
  17. i don't think its tacky not to pay for a group trip. guests will be appreciative if you just organize a group trip. i was able to do a group trip much cheaper than this tour. we chartered the vans for less than $15 a person. enterance fee for coba is about $5. Lunch was $11 & enterance to a cenote was $8. So less than $40 each. If we would have found a cheaper lunch spot it would have been less. we paid for the transportation, big bottle of water for everyone, a snack, & ice. Each guest paid their own enterance fee. everyone loved it. we did 9am-4pm & that was plenty long. i put all the details in a link i posted above. we made it clear this was optional. we also organized a charter fishing trip. transportation wasn't needed for that but we bought beer for everyone & snacks & drinks were included in the trip. 4 people went fishing, 1 stayed at the hotel & the rest went to coba + cenote. it was wonderful.
  18. these are so great. I have been so busy lately, but I hope while home I can search for some letters. I really want to play!
  19. I say just do it. it's not right to force one's religious beliefs on someone else. I think she will get over not considering you married. maybe if you want to compromise you can have a blessing afterwards or something like that. but, I think the ceremony needs to reflect you & your FI & your feelings about marriage. marriage to us was a committment to each other, not God. We didn't have a religious ceremony. I guess a preacher noticed this, because at dinner he came over to our table to bless our marriage. so I guess we are covered
  20. I was excited to see how fast he got the teasers up. He knows how to keep BDW happy
  21. now you don't have to wait 30 seconds between posting. they did away with the search one to speed up the forum.

I don't think they are even a photographer. it looked like they were just the staff member that was handed the camera for the day.

Should I write back and hassle her? are you doing legal or symbolic? if you are doing symbolic you have to wait until they can book the judge. i have no idea why they make it so hard to reserve a date.

I like getting started on these things early. yeah you definitly can not get married at the ruins. you are not even allowed to do pro photography there. there are still many other unique places in mexico for a wedding.
