  1. I would not want her in my wedding. Really, you save yourself so much potential drama by not having a wedding party. especially someone like her. that is so tacky!
  2. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15899 found it i eat meat about 2-4 times a month.
  3. you are in luck. i started this thread before & got some great recipes...

Even if she's also Killer. So, I'm totally not creative today... but I need a user name that I can also find a new avatar for. I love my puffy pink ball, but it's time for something new... ok we will keep thinking what about switching your avatar to that random guy in the wedding pic that looked like your puffy pink ball?
  5. I can't remember ever thinking about weddings as a kid. I have never dreamed of a big wedding. once I started thinking about weddings, my thoughts were more about how to avoid having a wedding. going to mexico did the trick. it was everything I loved & none of the stuff I would have hated.
  6. this would be something fun to start up every so often. a user title changing trend
  7. yep on the top bar between new posts & quick links

  9. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t28566 can you explain what is going on? i feel like i missed something. I must not be devoting enough hours to BDW.
  10. I just realized that rebecca has "VIP member" for her user title. She has way too much personality for a title so bland. But, I am blank on an idea for her user title. Sure, I could leave that decision up to her but that is no fun. Any suggestions?
  11. i don't have a TTD to sell, but I do have some advice: something light & flowy works great- the flowyier the better get nude undies, not white with gold stripes wear a slip
  12. oh & april is pre hurricane season, but often hotels are cheaper in may. i don't think the flight cost will vary a lot if it's not a holiday. the hotel cost would be the main think to vary. peak season is winter because people want an escape from the cold. hurricane season starts in june, but it's not as big of a threat as august & later months.
  13. from PA i would think dreams cancun would be much cheaper. from NC & TX, a flight to cabo is a lot more than a flight to cancun. also, cancun tends to be a cheaper area than cabo.
  14. here is some good info. a diamond is hard (scratch resistant), but being chip resistant is referred to as toughness. Can Diamonds Chip? Can Diamonds Break? Can you Chip a Diamond? Can Diamonds really Chip or Break? What can you do about a Chipped Diamond? - Jewelry-Secrets.com Diamond toughness

A $5000 budget is totally doable still. My budget is in the budget thread. i went under for most things & made the wedding even better than I planned on. I also added in a group excursion to the ruins at Coba. we ended up getting over $5,000 in cash & checks. I never imagined we'd get so much money for gifts. the only other thing that I sometimes wish I also splurged on would be a mariachi band right after the cermeony...
  16. so I think the $8 versus $3 totally changes things. the us is such a tipping culture, especially when wait staff only make $3 per hour. i'd rather see them get paid minimum wage so tips can be in addition to that. I would rather just get charged the full amount & not need to tip. the only time I really enjoy tipping is in mexico. it doesn't feel so expected there & I know how little the staff are making. when it's just a calculated 20% it just doesn't give me the warm & fuzzy feeling.

The thing with Aveda is that one person washes, one applies your color, one washes out the color, your main stylist cuts and then someone else blow-dries...YIKES - how coudl I possibly tip all those people i go to an aveda school & they encourage a "tip for a cause" program. You can donate to a charity instead of tipping. I personally would rather pay higher prices & not tip. I haven't had my hair cut in 1 year & 3 months !! I was growing it out for the wedding & I've just been to busy to make an appointment. OK, off topic but I just shocked myself when I realized that.
  18. what a nice thread to start. I try to do a good deed of the day each day. I found that nothing snaps me out of a bad mood faster than doing something nice for someone else. I park in a visitor lot so often my good deed is just giving someone who is lost detailed directions. A great one done by someone else recently was this: a friend of mine is going though a rough time. her mom has cancer for the 2nd time in 4 years. a coworker put a giftbag on her desk full of smaller packages wrapped in tissue. the note said to open one on days when she needs a pick me up. they were just trinkets & chocolate. This friend copied the idea & did the same thing for her mom. her mom said it has been a wonderful thing to get her through a tough time. I've been meaning to put some stuff together to send the friend's mom. things like magazines, a cd of uplifting music, etc. maybe i'll do that today for my good deed o' the day.
  19. won't airport security open them too? I've been told to never wrap presents when flying. that's why I take mine home unwrapped every christmas.
  20. 900 sounds right. I know $800 is pretty standard for those thing. I just didnt have anything. I wasnt willing to spend so much on something like that.
  21. i don't even wrap my stuff when I'm flying from NC to texas. You can always wrap the top & bottom of the box seperately so the lids can be removed without unwrapping it.
