  1. i'd stitch it up. it probably won't be noticable. veils are so wispy anyway that you don't get a good look at them bad roomba, bad!
  2. my mom had lens replacement surgery this summer. she was fine in a day and had virtually no pain. it also lasts forever unlike lasik. they do one eye at a time with a couple of weeks between them.

  4. or maybe not. my user CP says ann posted, but it's not here. i thought once i posted it would take me to page 9.
  5. hmmm, that thing is happening again where you can see someone posted but can't get to the page...

  7. my hair was too short for an updo & too long to wear down for a wedding i was in last january. i was in the prcess of growing it out for my wedding. so i wore a wiglet. i put my hair up & clipped in this curly thing. but, i'm the queen of tacky. i like having short hair when i'm in weddings so i can wear it down & not pay for an updo. i'm trying to decide what to do about my hair too. i haven't cut it in 1 year & 4 months!! i want to go back to short, but i also want it long if i do BD pics. so i'm going to get a trim & keep it long until i know if i'm taking bd pics. which will be determined by how well i do in biggest loser...so much to think about
  8. i can ask a friend how charleston is for living. i know its a nice place to visit. i've only driven through charleston. we stay in kiawha, SC right below charleston once a year. it's a privately owned island that is a golf resort. we go in dec so it's the off season & cheap. but, the weather is still really nice. the island is beautiful. so i know there is really nice stuff in the area, i just don't know a lot about charleston. but, i've gotten the impression its a nice place to live. where is tami (foxytv) from? it's somewhere in SC. maybe she can tell you more.
  9. i've been on bc pills for years & my period is consitantly the same each month. cramps were not a huge part of my period, but my stomach was always very upset for the first couple of days. it's pretty dramatic to see that it's gone. what really convinced me is that i noticed the change & then read others had the same experience. otherwise i'd think it's palcebo effect. maybe i'll do the control next month.
  10. i haven't spent time in charlotte, but i love western NC. i'd really like to be closer to the mountains than we are now. i'm from the the really flat part of texas so the mountains here are wonderful to me. people from colorado call them hills. still i like that you can hike to the top & back down in 2-3 hours. i'd probably enver make it to the top of a mountain in colorado & the top is the best part. charlotte has a bunch of bank headquarters. i'm not sure if that is effected by the financial institution crisis. I don't believe they are investment banks so they might actually be doing well. i think the bank of america headquarters is there & they are doing very good now.
  11. so i survived my tough 2nd day. i was pretty well behaved at dinner. i skipped the wine, had a salad for my 1st course & squash & brocholi for my 2nd course. But, i couldn't resist dessert. we were at a gormet place so atleaast the portions were small. i can't pass up an amazing, free meal.

  13. i'd worry the decrease in cramps was in my head if I knew that was a potential benefit. but, i had no idea. i can feel it when i'm walking only if i think about it. try the putting it in, and then walking around the bathroom trick. it really works for me when i struggling to get it in right. i actually figured it out because i got so frustrated that i gave up and just needed a break. when i went to take it out, it was open. so now i just do that everytime that it doesn't open up right away. the other thing i learned is to let it open right away. i was holding it together for too long. now i allow it to open as soon as i insert it.
  14. so i'm in the middle of period #2 with the diva cup. The first month i noticed that i had no cramps. i thought it was just a good month. but, i told a friend & she said that is common. so month 2 & I'm passed my heavy days & still no cramps. my stomach would also get really upset during my period before. i am not experiencing that either. being a scientists, i want to do the control of a month using tampons again to see if the symptoms return. the only thing is, i hate to go back to tampos now. still, i think i'll do it next month. my friend said that women experience the loss of cramps when they switch to natural products, too. so that would make you think it's something in the tampons/ pads that gives you cramps. kind of scary. also, with the diva cup my periods feel much lighter. i'm aware of how heavy my flow really is. with tampons it felt so much heavier than it actually is. i haven't found it gross to use. i did struggle with getting the technique down the first few times. the first time i removed it was bad. i just jerked it out. now i realize what i need to do. the most helpful thing i figured out is that if i'm having trouble getting it to open up, i should stand up and take a few steps. this usually does the trick. if it still didn't work, usually i just need to pull it down a little. I've gotten the technique down & can remove & reinsert the thing pretty fast. it's great not having to use the tampon trash can. i have a little metal trash can with a lid. i'm going to get rid of it now. it's just really nice that there is no waste. for environmental reasons & just to not have the waste in the house. i only remove it in the morning, after work & before bed. i never have to mess with it at work. i don't get that tearing & drying that tampons gave me. i felt much beter at the end of my last period than i did before. i highly recommend the diva cup. be sure to use the $5 off coupon i posted above so it's $15.
  15. or 2,000 apple pies! someone on the news figured out that the bail out money is enough to buy 2,000 pies for each american

Thanks for the new badges, Janet! I switched mine to fat gerbil I'm off to lift weights while i catch up on last night's TV.

I have lab meeting (with the table of food). then a seminar that has a reception after with tons of great food. that night i'm going to dinner with the speaker at my favorite place in town. it's a multi-course meal. i'll keep thinking of "fluffy" animals to get me through. i think i'm going to print them out to post on my desk & fridge.
  18. Is it time for N & O? then i crop this one to make an N
  19. all of my guests left on thursday. we left on wednesday. you can make it work.

I plan on putting on the same outfit & taking the same picture each week. I really think it will motivate me. hopefully it motivates others, too. I also hope by the end its a picture i can be proud of. i used to look great in those red shorts. now i wear big, baggy shorts when i work out. I love that this isn't a competition with each other, but a competition with ourselves.

OIC. I totally understand people not wanting to post them. but, i do suggest they take one just for their own motivation. it was a huge motivator for me.
