The Dwight Schrute for President 2008 T Shirt. hey, this one make this threadjack on topic Dwight Schrute's SECOND Second Life T Shirt http://images1.fanpop.com/images/pho...80-986-737.jpg even more topical! http://images.fanpop.com/images/imag...66_508_408.gif sorry, can you tell i'm missing the office tonight
  2. Hippocratees Blog Archive I’m Your Biggest Flan will this work?

  4. it's really intersting to me to see how much canadians follow us politics. i'm ashamed to say, but i know so little about the canadian political system. i know a decent amount about their healthcare system though. i'm making an effort to learn more about other country's politics. i've downloaded many podcasts, but i've been so busy with my photography podcasts
  5. yay! i'm so happy you got the dress. i know how much you've been through trying to figure this out.
  6. why is it boring in canada? is it just a particuarly boring election?
  7. oh but i am sad about the office being bumped. i'm wearing my stapler in jello t-shirt today in a silent protest
  8. i'm very interest to watch tonight. i tivoed the first presidental debate, but then my tivo didn't pick it up- because The Soup was at a higher priority :0 so shameful! i'm more excited about the vp debate. we haven't had as many chances to see them talk.
  9. yeah, i would like family pics like that. more natural & not all lined up. but, i'd worry that would take too long. i feel like it to get a great family portrait you need to do a family session. i didn't want to cut into time for us to do romantics. when we did the impromptu family shots, the ones i like are the ones kristie took between shots when we were looking at each other & talking. there is a cute one of me, mike & my mom. i'll post some later
  10. kristie also did my pics & we didn't plan on doing the family pics. i talked to both moms about it & they agreed they don't like those line up family pics. in every wedding i've been I really didn't like that part of the wedding. you are so excited & just got married and then you stop and take a bunch of combinations of pictures. but, after the wedding mike's mom asked if we were doing a family picture. we had talked about not doing one and she didn't seam to care if we skipped that. so then we made plans to do them after dinner. it was just a quick thing. the way i wanted to get family pictures was while we were toasting after the wedding. i really prefer those. they are more natural. we did do a big group pic with everyone. i really like that picture.
  11. congrats!!! I also love the shoes I said "happy 1 month legalversary" on july 13th. Mike said, "don't even start that...our anniversary is on the 21st." I think it's just going to be a joke of ours.
  12. this thread is really old. i was confused when it got bumped because now courtney has all these amazing pictures leigh took so i didn't know what she meant by "i only have boring pictures".
  13. i tried to put myself in the same situation. there was a non-married couple at my wedding. i would have been really excited if they got engaged, off on their own. you are so full of joy & its such an exciting time that i think i would have just been thrilled for them. i loved seeing all the couples have such a romantic time at our wedding. i played each of their special songs before the ceremony when they were waiting on me. if he takes her off somewhere just the two of them a few days before the wedding & proposes, i don't think it will interfer. especially since no one their knows the couple. if it was a sibling it might get tricky. i've heard of so many people proposing at a wedding reception. I wasn't a bridezilla, but i would have quickly become one if someone did this.
  14. I agree that as long as he doesn't do it during a wedding event it's OK. The fact taht he talked to joe & planned on doing it the day after shows he is being considerate. also, since you have mentioned you don't like "a lot of thunder" that helps too. i also don't like a ton of attention so it would not have bothered me, if the person was polite about it (talking to use first & making sure it was fine). people only get a limited number of vacations per year. if mexico is their big vacation then i understand him wanting to propose then. it might be a while until they could go somewhere else. not that you need a vacation to propose, but guys tend to like to combine those things.
  15. i think it's all in my head, but my stomach looks much better to me. but, usually after one day of working out, i think i look better. i'm pretty sure it's just how i perceive myself based on how im feeling. i'll know after weigh in & retaking the pictures tomorrow.

Of course they all seem to be very happy with the results of their wedding so I am sure it will be ok. I am though a bit sad about losing my excursions that I have planned and stuff - but I will just have to figure out something else... "Everything happens for a reason" So thanks everyone and Ladies that will be at the Dreams Cancun with me that have been moved as well - well we will sure to be having a few shots together!!! What were your planned excursions? I'm sure BDW members can help you replan to something closer to dreams cancun.
  17. I think this really enforces how important it is to have a good TA! I can't imagine what it's like to wait & see what is going to happen so close to the wedding. I love your attitude, Brooke. have an amazing legal day tomorrow!!!

    Creepy noob :)

he he, so creepy. you can change your emotion to "lurker" if you want. We've had lots of brides join pre-engagement. I lurked around until we got engaged. I wish i would have just joined. then you get to shout it to BDW when you get engaged & have a row of dancing elefants

  20. i think it was one of those definitions that someone came up with after it started. i imagine people started trashing the dress just to do something fun & creative. because, really who would wear the same dress again in their 2nd wedding? i wonder if anyone has done that. a lot of photographers are now calling them "day after sessions." whatever the meaning behind it, i suggest doing it. i trashed 3 times. the dress had been trashed once before too. it was so much fun!

  22. oh another one to do- if you have ever gotten a credit card late fee (even if you were really late) call and get it removed. they will take off the finance charges too. i've never done this one b/c i don't carry balances, but if you call your credit card companies, you can often negotiate a lower interest rate. I also reshuffled my money in various savings accounts/ cds to get a better return. my sick day is coming to an end though. I'm going to have to drag myself to work eventually. i'm waiting until everyone that i could possibly infect is gone.
  23. Quote: Originally Posted by JennyK I wish I new how to save $163 today Sucks being home sick there are lots of things to try. scan all your statements & see if you got overbilled for anything. call you cable company & negotiate a better rate. i do that every 6 month-1 year. you have to wait until you are no longer in a contract. for example, i signed up for a 1 year promotion. after that year was up, i waited a month & then called the retention department to see what kind of new promos they had. it's an easy way to save $10-$40 per month. usually i'm on top of getting back money that i didn't owe, but i've been so burnt out lately. the wedding planning really took all my energy to do extra stuff. i still need to confirm i wasn't overcharged by tivo for subscription i bought my mom a year ago. that is going to take longer than the others. i'll need to lay out a bunch of cc statements. i kept getting overcharged & then would call for a credit. but, i didn't take the time to make sure all the credits covered the overcharged ammounts. it's so easy to just let it slide, but who knows. i might have overpaid $40. unfortunately the overbilling from school is going to take more work to fix. i'm still dealing with that one so i guess i tallyed up the $163 too fast. the other thing i took care of was that dillards never sent my 20% off coupon for completing my registry. I got that taken care of & next week I'm off to get the rest of my fiestaware with giftcards. it's unfortunate that you can't trust bills to be right all the time. i get so many errors that i wouldn't notice if i didn't spend the time every so often to look for them.
  24. I've been home sick the last 2 days. yesterday I slept for 3 1/2 hours in the middle of the day. when i woke up i felt like i had wasted the day. so i decided to do something productive. during the last year I've been so distracted with wedding planning, that i have neglected to take care of annoying little things. -netflix billed me for a movie that must have been lost in the mail. -I was overcharged for my summer gym membership. -the worst was a late fee on a tuition payment that I'm not incharge of paying. it should be covered through the grad school, so someone else was late. -emusic charged me for a subscription i never used & tried to cancel several times. their customer service was the worst!! so i sat down yesterday & made a bunch of phone calls. my grand total in refunded money- $163! i felt much better about sleeping the day away.
  25. i've heard that explanation, but that wasn't what a TTD is about for many of us. to me it's just a way to get some unique pictures without worrying about getting a little dirty. on the wedding day you are trying to stay polished and you are on a time limit. for a ttd you can just let loose. i think the ttd pics usually turn out to be the best pictures from the wedding.
