Welcome back!!
-
we have been doing biggest loser for 31 days. there are 26 days left. so we are over 1/2 way though. I have worked out 20 times in the last 31 days. keeping track on my calendar keeps me motivated. I also just looked back at how intense I was in the first 2 weeks. I've been losing the momentum, so I'm working on remotivating myself.

Although I haven't lost any more weight during the past 2 weeks, I am happy to say with all the stress, lack of sleep and eating out/weird meal times, I haven't gained any weight. If you don't mind, I would still like to be part of the group without being a part of the group anymore. I am hoping to lose a few more lbs in the coming weeks, and could use the great support here. keep posting! I'm sorry to hear you had a death in the family and a sick family member.

Im not an expert on safes, but I know we are trying to bring as little expensive things as possible to try and avoid any problems. My mom is thinking about getting a small lockable box for her stuff to bring with her. Hopefully they dont steal the whole box! yes, some staff can open the safe. this is often how things get stolen out of the safe. a bride on this forum staying at dreams tulum had this issue. they robbed the guests during the ceremony. they knew that it was a staff member using their code to open the safe, because when they got to their room, their codes no longer worked. I felt much safer using the luggage lock I brought than the hotel safe. We kept everything in a locked bag that was inside another bag. that way the lock wasn't visible. we didn't take valuable stuff except our camera & some cash. we gave all of our guests luggage locks. some still used the safe, but no one had an issue. on our last day there was a couple that couldn't open their safe. the shuttle was there to pick them up and their stuff was still locked up. i don't know what happened, but i felt really bad for them.

Californian BDW members who love animals....

Ugh...so frustrating...but hopefully Prop 2 prevails!!!! yeah i saw that oprah. i also saw an episode of This American Life about modern pig farming. It really upset me. I used to raise pigs & I was sad to see how it has changed. Not just for the pigs, but for the farmers. I hope prop 2 makes life better for both the animals & farmers. i'm willing to pay the extra penny an egg to have a nicer way of farming. I won't even eat veal. I was glad to see taht veal farmers are already making the move away from crates. it isn't just people in california that can do something. we can use market pressure to make changes all over. I never buy veal. if they changed veal farming, i might. i buy cage free eggs & try to go to restaurants (like chipolte) that do the same. i eat meat about 2 times a month as it is. after watching the show about pig farming I was too sickened to eat meat that month. i do believe the farmers are doing the best they can to care for the animals. i feel its the pressure to drive down prices that leads to chickens squished into cages and pigs in pens so small they can't move. -

I was able to pick really healthy stuff. probably healthier than i pack for myself. for the events i organize, I try to have healthy options. like a fruit tray instead of all cookies. i haven't worked out yet today. I'm feeling really tired & i have a headache. but, the biggest loser thread inspired me. I'm starting up a workout video right now...

I just got back from a lunch with a speaker. it probably is an obvious trend with my posts. the biggest challenge I have is when i'm not in control of my own meals. work functions and lunches out are always hard for me. but, i did really good as this meal. it helped that the speaker was vegan so we had really healthy options. I had a tortilla wrap with veggies & hummus, a rice dish & fruit. Usually these things include chips & a huge cookie. luckily that wasn't there. I did splurge at a work event yesterday. I had some pecan pie. but, i didn't have any alcohol and stuck to healthy food choices like spanikopida and quiche. i've been planning out thanksgiving meals. lots of good veggie dishes. i really prefer eating healthy. it just takes more effort.

i was going to make a collage of pics from 2008. i don't want it to be all wedding pics, because i did photo AHR invites. I wont be taking a new picture though. I want to use one we took last weekend on a mountain, a wedding pic, pic from my bros wedding...any other nice pictures from 08. -

I was thinking of doing 100 postcards from vistaprint. it would be about $10 shipped. Then you get to use 26 cent stamps (unless it went up). So a total cost of ~$36 to send out 100 postcards. I plan on making a collage of pictures for the front & writting a letter on the back. It would be a typed letter that prints on the back of all of them. I need to get on this. -

I couldn't stop laughing after the "1, 2, 3." She had me hooked right away- too great. Personally Morgan, I think my fav line was "I like red meat, so shoot the mother humping moose." I think I need to rewatch this for some giggles. I guess I'm in the minority, but I didn't think Palin looked nervous at all. The beginning with Alec was dead, but he couldn't remove his eyes of the prompter. I mean really- he's an actor. He couldn't remember those few lines. I think that's why it fell flat- at least for me. Mark was funny (& cute.) oh yes the red meat line made me laugh too. i need to rewatch it. I mean, really, that show has been pretty horrid to her, and she still was a good sport about it. I don't know if I could do something like that! i think he was the baldwin that was leaving the country is bush was reelected. I wondered if he was staring at the prompter. i agree, he was awkward.
