I think we should start a new thread and ask people to post their makeup and recs for hairdressers not associated with a hotel. Has anyone used any of these? I think it's annalisa. she was going to be my person, but was in italy during my wedding. she lives in PDC & was going to charge me $100 to travel to puerto aventuras. instead i had finita who lives in PDC & has a salon in puerto aventuras. she was $75. She was very relaxing to work with & i loved what she did with my hair. I just sat down & she took care of everything. I posted a review & her contact info on the forum.

I just know the holidays will be a little crazy, and maybe it would be better to give people more time this season. I can start taking names and sign-up fees whenever you all want! Will it be $15 again? I think you should start it. i wouldn't want to leave something out. I think we've decided jan 7th for 12 weeks. Anyone want to change from $15? BTW, oprah is having "best life week" starting jan 5th. it will be a great way to kickstart BL5. Oh & my SIL noticed I had lost weight. it's always nice when someone notices. makes me believe it more. i was really well behaved over thanksgiving

  5. hmmm...I don't think i spend enough time in the planning threads to see who is being extra helpful. I might just skip nominating & only vote this time around. I think now that you are the motm mod, we should change the name to "best member ever"

Like I mentioned, Mike did respond finally, and maybe he was just going to show up and I shouldn't have worried about it. Like Morgan mentioned above, she didn't confirm with her videographer ahead of time and they showed up. Maybe I was being a neurotic bride, but I just wanted a response to one of my emails! I know Mike has done great work for lots of other brides, and I'm sure he would have done a great job with mine, too. I just needed a response! But thanks to all of you for so much help! We ended up finding Hector from Funever Photos and he even delivered the video to us before we left on the honeymoon. It is GREAT!! What's even more fun is that the minister pronounced us as Mr. & Mrs. [my maiden name] which was quite comical and I'm so glad we have that on tape! Everything was perfect!! Thanks again!! wow that is great to get it before you left it would probably help to do a review on hector so brides have more options. i was dissapointed with the communication with Mike, too.
  7. it's always fun when this gets bumped & i can take a little trip down memory lane.
  8. it looks good in the pic, but it's hard to tell.
  9. i think the puffy gown style will look amazing. i just went to see what my dress was. i thought it was tulle but it was silk. it had a sheer layer over a regular layer. it would have been easier to move around in if all the laters were the thin, sheer type. I think the perfect TTD would be many layers of sheer silk or tulle. also, i wore a slip under and it got tangled around my legs.

  12. if you end up making it work, but just don't love it you could always use it for a TTD session.
  13. Good thread. I have been meaning to share my advice. I don't know what material my dress was. it has a flowy top layer that looked nice in the water. two friends wore their wedding gowns for our 3 bride TTD. One was a fitted, mermaid style dress. it was really hard for her to swim or do much of anything. the other was lace & it worked great. long, flowy pieces look great for a TTD. if you are going to swim, hike the dress up first. I thought i was going to drown the first time I jumped in. i had the dress tangled around my legs & couldn't kick. mike had to help me out of the water. after an hour of trashing, i was swimming laps in the thing. well, one lap across the cenote. The key was to pull it up to keep my legs free. another tip- don't wear white swimsuit bottoms with gold stripes. you can see the stripes. plan out what will go under the dress too.

  15. I'd like to try it with a couple. something like you are looking through a peephole at a private moment before ringing the door bell. does your FI use flickr? it's a great place to get inspired.
  16. inspired by this flickr group, i bought a peephole to use as a lens for my point & shoot. Flickr: The Peephole fish eye Pool my peephole arrived in the mail so I took some shots: The quality isn't awesome, but it's something fun. I could always photoshop & remove some grain. I plan on trying to take some fun pictures of my dog this week while I'm back home.
