i'd think it depends on the person. we stayed 7 nights at an AI in riveria maya. By day 8, I was happy to be heading home. I had a great time, but a week was enough. I would want to travel around more for a 10 day stay. Also, we were worn out & a little sick.

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t18465 we had a long disscussion about this stuff here. still, I don't really understand the rules.

yes, they do need a work permit. there is one they can get at the airport for about $20. they take care of it when filling out the visa info on the flight before customs. many photographers do not do this. they say they are traveling as a tourist instead. there is also a limit on the number of cameras & memory cards. There is also the FM3 visa mentioned before. Those are about $100 but are good for the whole year. Still, when you read about FM3s they sound like they are really for a US citizen living in mexico. I read so much info & really couldn't come to a conclusion if this is legal. They are being paid in the US to do work for a US citizen. but, the work is done in another country. The information wasn't consistant either. Some hotels require the paperwork be showed. Also, this is country wide, not just in some areas of mexico. it's just more talked about for cancun because of EDRs policies. there are similar laws for all countries, including the US.

base your decision on how much money you can afford to spend on a honeymoon, not what others do. And to determine what you can afford, take everything into account, not just if you can make the payment.

There is a thread called, "Photographers and photographer wanna-be's." We are on a break now because everyone got so busy. it's a fun game. -
do you buy presents FROM your pets? My dog sent my mom a christmas present early. it's a photo album that says, "I love my dog" & is filled with pictures I took for the pets over thanksgiving. Then there is a card that has a picture of my dog on the front & says, "Fleas Navidad." We have a dumb joke we use everytime where we say there were weird charges on our credit card so the dog must have stolen it. So I called my mom the other day & said that while I was in town some things got charged on my credit card and when I called the store they said the receipt was signed with a paw print. It never gets old. I wanted to send it early because my mom is a teacher & the last weeks of the semester are always hard. the kids are pumped up on sugar & the christmas spirit. Hopefully it arrives today when she gets home from work.

Overwhelmed

This really isn't the best place to find prices. prices are going to vary so much especially with airfare. is the $1000 price for air fare & hotel stay? Use a website designed to give you prices like hotels.com, tripadvisor, etc. We stayed at the catalonia for a week for $1000, but out flight was from north carolina. I used funjet.com to compare prices. i sorted hotels starting with the lowest priced first & made my way down the list. They first chunk were either not-AI, off the beach, or just not that nice. After getting through those fast, I found a group that were reasonably priced, but still nice places. I started comparing their wedding options. Some had ridiculous fees for weddings. I kept a pros/ cons list. The catalonia riviera maya really appealed to me. It was such a great value & a really great place. they do have private reception options. if you want more info, search for catalonia riviera maya on the forum & you'll find a thread i started with all the info i have. -

I would take $10 anyday! yeah, it's totally worth it. it's also nice handing the money over to a local & not some ticket counter at a big place. We paid $8 at grand cenote. they take US$ or pesos. the ruins were the only peso-only places we encountered. you can rent snorkeling equipment there too.

we took a cab from puerto aventuras to paamul. when you get there, there is an office in the back of the large restaurant where they will call for a cab to pick you up. paamul was great. we had the beach to ourselves. wear water shoes. mike got stabbed by a sea urchin. I posted pictures from our trip on BDW. search "paamul" & it should come up

I have p90x, turbo jam & hip hop abs. I'm not crazy about hip hop abs, but i love the other two. The first infomercial i remember was for the dailey. it was a hand held blender. similar to the magic bullet, but longer. we were obsessed with that commercial & my mom finally ordered one. i think she still has it. we made a few shakes, but it didn't change our lives like we thought it would. The next thing we got was the sandwich machine that makes triangle sandwiches. That thing was really cool. we had "3 triangle meals a day." Mike asked for one for christmas a few years ago, so we have something similar now. I have bare minerals, but I didn't learn about it from the infomercial. my friend told me about it & I bought it at sephora. I helped a friend wax her legs with nads. remember how you could eat it? it didn't really work. The worst thing I bought was a home electrolysis kit from a magazine. The ads showed it as tweezers holding the hair & sending pulses. it wasn't anything like that. it was a needle. i used it on one hair & it made a red bump. my co-worker saw the shamwow at the state fair. she was amazed. I read the reviews & it doesn't sound that great. she likes to quote mark from shamwow. it's pretty funny. -
we give my dog "babies" every year. She opens the giftbags when it's her turn. Last year she ran out of gifts before the rest of us (we take turns) so she started to open mine. It was so cute, because you could tell she knew they weren't for her. After opening them, her mission is to kill the squeaker. She doesn't put a new toy down until it's destroyed in some way. This year I got her a frog that ribbits. I also got her a thanksgiving pumpkin. BTW, she is the adorable dog in my siggy. Snap.
