  1. Oh, I thought it was an active page on your website. I have a forum page where people can post stuff. I thought they were posting stuff all over a page like that. If it's not an active page, is it a problem? I don't think I understand what's happening. If it's not active, can't you password protect it. Then no one will need to password, but you'll stop the spam.
  2. bgregistry.com let's you add stuff from any store! Cool. I'm looking more into it. Do you think people would use these online registries? I know my grandma won't, but I wonder if my friends would. It would be so much easier just to go online & order the gift. I do most of my shopping online. If I do the online registry, I'll still have in store registries. I guess the trick is to not overlap stuff & the know how much to put in each one. I have found our dishes (fiestaware) much cheaper online, but I thought it would be too hard to register with some little online store. This might be the solution.
  3. Another question- if you register with target through myregistry.com, can people also buy the stuff in the store? If they bought it in the store, would it remove it from myregistry.com?
  4. I was just about to post the same thing, but I ran a search first to make sure no one beat me to it. I thinking about using myregistry.com, too. I am looking to see if there is any reason not to, like fees. For people who have used it, did you guest actually buy stuff from it?
  5. What if you just password protect the forum pages? Then write on the website what the password is. The spammers are probably computer generated. So if you had the password written right next to the box to type it in, you should keep getting spam. I've been to websites like that wherer it says "type bride in this box to enter."
  6. I love wedding annoucer. I haven't had a problem with spam, but that could happen with any site where you have a message board that isn't password protected. Mine isn't password protected, but if I get spam, I'll set it up. I've gotten so many compliments on the site. I didn't want a lot of fancy stuff, like an animated intro page or music, because some of our guest still use dial up. I would've liked more choices for backgrounds, but the tulips are good enough. I also thought the set up to make the site was great. I don't like the RSVP code thing.
  7. Someone wrote in a previous post, they were able to buy $45,000 worth of wedding insurance for $450, to cover everything, including guest's flights. You might want to consider inusurance for september. I found a website somewhere that listed all the hurricanes that have hit the area & when it happened. I don't know if it included tropical storms. I'll see if I can find it again. I think it was 1 every 3 years usually in sept-nov.
  8. I can only think of one wedding I've been to where the mom wore the wedding colors. A lot of the family wore the wedding color. It much have been planned.
  9. They sell a lot on craigslist. It's totally free too. Some stores do consignment. I don't think you can ever get close to what you paid back. But, if you have no use for it, might as well get something.
  10. I find oatmeal is the easiest way for my to keep a meal to 200 calories. It's so filling. I didn't like it before, but I found the apples & cinnamon flavor. I love it. I eat a big breakfast though- 2 bowls of cherrios with strawberries. It's much easier for me to have a small dinner than a small breakfast, so I often replace a full dinner with oatmeal.

A few stars came out of those shows. I remember you can't do that on television. we didn't have cable, but when we'd stay with my grandma, we'd watch nickelodian the entire time. It's the show that started the green slime. remember welcome freshmen? i think there was also a kids soap called fifteen. I couldn't wait to be in highschool when i watched those shows.
  12. Durham, I'm a grad student at Duke. We are going to have a complicated time with gifts. We don't have space for many new things in our little apartment, so we want to keep some stuff in his parents attic in Texas. We plan on moving back to Texas in 3 years. So if everything works out perfect, the stuff we can use now (towels, plates, silverware) will be shipped to NC. And the big stuff we aren't ready for yet will be given to us in Texas. Really, I just hope we get a lot of giftcards or cash. We have a similar problem at Christmas. Everything we get has to fly home with us. I also like to go shopping at the after christmas sales. We've tried to tell everyone we don't need gifts for Christmas, but they give us stuff anyway. So I know it won't work if we just don't register.
  13. Have you heard they are working on making a peanut that does not cause an allergic reaction?
  14. I knew 8 years ago their return policy was terrible. I didn't know it still was. I guess we will try to register for most of our stuff at BB&B. We live in NC, but our reception will be in Texas. I'm worried people will give us stuff in Texas that's too big to fly with us. I thought we could just return it to target in TX & buy it again in NC. Sounds like that won't work. Maybe we'll just register for little stuff at target.
  15. I voted yes, because I think a lot of people would want one. But, I don't think I would. Just because we have computers all over the apartment with flat screen monitors & I can make them digital picture frames when we have company over. My TV is linked to the computer so it can flash pictures too. Maybe I'm just too techy. My FI & I started to make one out of an old laptop, but decided we don't have a use for it. Wow, I sound like a geek. Anyway, I think it's a good gift idea especially since you can't get them an office gift off their registry. This is the same shower right? If they don't like it, they can always regift it. Hey, maybe you'll get it for your wedding If you are going to buy one, read reviews. They vary a lot in quality. You can probably also shop around & find a great deal on one.
  16. Be sure to make an appointment. If it's a weekday they may help you without an appoitment, but on weekends they can be busy. They also open late on weekdays. At least the one in my town does. Just check out their website before going to know what to do. It's a nice place because they have a big selection. I think Bridesmart is another big chain place. I'm not sure if it's all over though.

  18. Is your hair about the same length as your siggy pic? Mine is chin length & my wedding is also in june 08. Can we do it? I don't know how fast my hair grows. I've never paid attention.
  19. I think it looks better if they don't match. Just the same color. I think it looks a little funny when all the guys have the same pants on if there is something distinctive about the pants. I think it's nice to let them get something that looks good on them so they can wear them again.
  20. When you posted that picture in the thread about hair, I started to ask you where the flower came from. Then I realized that the picture might be of someone you don't know. I'm wanting to find a flower like that too. I was thinking about making it myself, but I'm not sure how great it would stay on a clip. I would get worried the super glue wouldn't hold up. I considered trying to sew it on. I think I'll give DIY a shot, before buying one.
  21. Curls with a flat iron! That's crazy. I'll have to give it a try. All the hair pictures just posted are beautiful. Did you just make an appointment at the hotel salon or hire someone to come to you?
  22. What do people do those big spiral curls with? rollers or culing iron? How big are the rollers/ iron? I'm thinking about trying it.

  24. You can get a custom bobblehead made for about $100. I've seen some people use that for a topper.
