You have to sign up for a premier paypal account to use this option. Paypal is free, but does charge fees when you receive money. It's around 3%.
  2. I am working on my registry today. I'd like to get a good set of knives, but I'm not sure what to get. I'd like a block to put them in, but I would also prefer for guests to be able to purchase them seperately. I need to add more inexpensive gifts to my registry, so individual knives would be good. Do knives ever come individually with the option to buy a block they fit in seperately? What are good brands? I'd like the knives to be less than $30 each. Right now I just have a draw full of random knives. I don't know that I have any good knives. I don't know if I've ever used a good knife to know the difference. I do cook & chop quite a bit, but I've been holding off on buying anything nice for the last couple of years because I wanted to have something left to register for.

Did anyone answer the question as to whether or not if you have something from Target on the myregistry if they go into the store and buy it if it deducts it online? Thanks! I am setting up my myregistry right now. I'm pretty sure the person would have to log onto myregistry to remove it themselves. I don't think I'll register for anything from target through myregistry. I'll just do target in the store because it's linked to the target online.

But it was so stressful and so much money and in the end I realized that it didn't matter that much what I was wearing - it's the day and the meaning that counts. Of course you want to look beautiful but I am sure there's another dress out there that makes you look gorgeous too! It may not be THE one but it may also be 1/10 of the price! Another idea is (if the dress is very popular like an ML) is to sell it afterwards. This is what I did with my ML but honestly it is hard to do and it sounds like your designer may not be as well known - which means it's harder to get people to pay you a lot for it... I definitely think having it made is also a good option. I agree. The dress you wore was amazing. I can't imagine there was a better dress that you didn't get.
  5. Thanks for the feedback. I am planning on setting up my myregistry page soon. I love the option to shop online. I am a great online deal finder. I can't stand the idea of registering for gifts in the store when I know I can find them online for 1/2 the price. I'll still do an in store registry for those who don't like to shop online.
  6. You can buy iron on transfer printer paper. Then print the monogram on the paper & iron it on. You can also upload the digital file onto different websites & order things with it printed on. For example, vista print chages $4.99 to upload your monogram. Once you do that, you can order prints of it on all kinds of stuff.
  7. Thanks! That A on the 2nd row is my favorite. I was at the gardens shouting, "look mom an A!" I also really like the bird neck for an S, but I think I need to zoom in on it. It really is a fun project. I can't wait to go back out & find more letters. I'm worried about the hard one's though. I might have 100 O's before I find a B or P.

BTW: How does everybody know everybodies name? Should I add a signature with my name at the end of each message I post? We know names mostly from signatures & monograms. You can add your name to your signature if you want.
  9. If I don't keep these shoes, I'm will probably buy some really comfortable white/silver sandals & glue starfish to them. It would probably be easier than finding just what I want for less than $20. I'm going to walk around the house in them today & see what I think. This is why I use zappos.com so much. It's so hard for me to decide if I like shoes. I need them in my house for a day to really know.
  10. I got these on smartbargains.com for $15. Save on the Ann Marino Vienna Metallic Thong at SmartBargains.com They are not as comfortable as sandals I normally wear, but I only buy really comfortable shoes. They are probably as comfortable as regular flip flops. I get the cushiony, molded flip flops. The front part of the star pokes my toe a little too. They also make the flip flop noise when I walk. I wanted to try to get shoes that you couldn't hear for the wedding. Can you tell I'm super critical of shoes?
  11. That baraometer looks so cool. Where do you find them & how much are they?

This has been a lot of fun. We went on a short hike one day & I started looking around to see how hard it would be to find stuff. Everyone hiking with me started to look too. It was a lot of fun. A few days later I went to a garden at Duke university I go to all the time. It was great to have a whole new way to look at the gardens.
  13. My hotel charges $200 to put your pictures on a DVD. I wouldn't pay it, but I know how to do it myself. I think there would be a market though with people who don't do that type of stuff themselves. And if someone doesn't already have a DVD burner, it would be much easier to pay you than to buy a DVD burner. I think it also depends on what you are doing. I'm really impressed by the videos set to the beat of the music. More like a music video than a slideshow. But, if it's just pictures changing at a constant speed and music playing, I don't think that would be worth as much. Just because it's easier to make. I'd love to see a sample of what you do. What software are you using?
  14. The exercise that I feel in my butt the most are "step ups." You need a step & some weights. Leave one foot on the step the whole time & step up & down with the other. It's sort of like a lunge. After 10-15, switch legs. It really works better if you leave one foot planted the entire time, not alternating steps. I do squats, deadlifts, & lunges all the time, but this is the workout that really makes me sore. keep good form like with lunges. Don't let your knees pass your toes.
  15. You mean hold the flowers when you need your hands free right? Not, walk down the aisle holding a bouquet. I think you could just set it down. But, you don't need one. They come free with a lot of wedding packages though, so I think it's worth having.
  16. If it grows back for everyone, I dont think it's worth it. I'd go every 3 months. For 1 month it was terrible, because the dead hair hadn't fallen out yet. So it was like having hair you couldn't shave off. Then for one month it was nice & one month it was growing back. So if it's only good while doing sessions, it wouldn't be worth it. I thought it was supposed to be forever, but when I moved away & stopped going, most of it came back.
  17. If it equals out, then I dont think I'd keep extra gift money. Our gift money will go towards common goal stuff, like a house, travel & retirement savings. I plan on paying for more of the wedding stuff, like OOT bags because he doesn't care about stuff like that. We'll split the travel cost. Also, a lot of the stuff we'll register for isn't stuff he cares about, like plates, silverware, etc. But there is no right or wrong answer. I think the main thing is to talk about it & reach an agreement. And what works for one couple, doesn't work for everyone.
  18. I think I paid about $80-$100 per session, but some sessions were free. After the 5th, they got cheaper. Wow, ann your prices were amazing. I thought it was cheap in south texas. I did upper lip & underarms. 13 sessions later, I still have hair!!!! I moved out of state & stopped the treatments & it all came back. I was also told I was an ideal candidate with light skin & dark hair. It has helped a little though. I don't get the 5 oclock shadow, but I do still shave daily. I don't regret it, because I was young & still living at home & just picked up extra shifts at work to pay for it. Now I'd feel like it's a waste of money. If it would've worked, I wouldn't have thought it was a waste. I also got really tired of all the time I spent at appointments. Once I moved off to college, it was a pain to drive home for appointments. They have special lasers for tanned skin. Otherwise, you don't want to do it with a tan. I once drove 3 hours with a major hangover to an appointment. When I got there I was a little pink from the sun coming through the car window so they wouldn't treat me. I was so upset. I don't think other people have an experience as bad as mine. A friend of mine went in for a consultation & asked if other people had as much trouble as me & they said I was a freak of nature!
  19. We had planned on paying for it all ourselves. I don't want to blow our house savings, so we planned with a budget of $3,000. Then my mom said she wants to help out. We totally do not expect her to do this, but she said she had planned on it. Now that we are getting help, I increased the budget by $600 so we can hire the hotel photographer. I don't know what his family plans on doing, but whatever they decide would be fine with us. They are coming to the wedding & that's all we really want. It's nice knowing that we can pay for it all ourselves without creating any financial strain, but any amount family contributes will just allow us to save that much more for a house. When I have kids, I think I would offer all the kids a flat amount. If they want to elope, they can keep it. If they want a big wedding, they can pay the rest.
  20. They had the target dresses on oprah one day. Another option is the david's bridal $99 sale.
  21. I searched on funjet.com to sort by price. You could use hotels.com, expedia, etc. I arranged them by price & started to read reviews about them starting with the cheapest & crossed bad ones of the list. I ended up crossing off all the really cheap ones. I narrowed it down to about 10 hotels & read more about them listing the pros & cons. The hotel I picked was the clear winner for me. Then I started to email people who were married there. I found them on trip advisor by searching "wedding" and my hotel name. Their responses were all great, so I booked my place. Before doing this, I had already narrowed down my choices by the area. We wanted to be in Riviera Maya in an area where you can snorkel from the hotel. I think picking a hotel is the hardest part, but once I got going it wasn't bad. It was fun too. Good luck!
  22. I threw a game night party for a friend. We played drinking jenga, taboo, and other party games. Some of them stayed the night so it was almost a slumber party. No one's bra was frozen. It was a lot of fun to have a silly girls night. I'm planning one now at a karaoke bar. We are going out to dinner, then karaoke & then back to her parents house to hot tub.
