I made mine a month ago & we've had about 150 visitors. I also didn't put the counter up until after a few days after I sent it out. People have loved having it. There is a forum where they are disscussing adventures to go on. I'm going to add a confirmed guests section once people start booking so everyone can start to get to know each other. I also thought the website was a great way to announce what we are doing & why. I think it helped with peoples shock of a DW to have it all explained right there on the website. I also think it's great to be able to put registry info & our feelings about not wanting gifts from guest, etc. on there. I love having a website & couldn't imagine planning a wedding without it. So many people have told me how much they've enjoyed it. Some friends have even been sending it to their friends to check out. It was also free so i think totally worth it. I think for a DW a website is really important. I'm off to check yours out too.

Great! I'm so happy we came to the same decision. Makes me not second guess myself about the time. I also feel like if I waited until 6, I'd start to get so anxious & ready to leave the hotel room & hangout with everyone.

Brandy, have you picked a time? We have the same wedding date! We are getting married at 4. I hope it's not too hot. Our ceremony will be short & most of our guest are from texas & use to heat. I'm making sure they know to wear something cool. If it seems too bad the day before, I'll talk to the WC about an alternate location they have for bad weather.

I don't know if you will get tired of hearing this, but I think you have a great nose. I think we all just look at ourselves more critically than anyone else looks at us. I think my nose is big, but other people don't usually think so.

thanks, I found that graph. It wasn't there for the first flight I looked for. but then i looked up us flights & it was there. so useful!!!!!!

Maybe you could try taking something for IBS & see if that clears it up. Not necessarily to continue to take the medicine, but just to see if that was all it was. I took something called Levbid once. It got rid of all my stomach pain, but gave me terrible dry mouth. I dont really want to take medicine everyday anyway. I've learned how to control stress better so it's not as bad. But, I do have stomach pain everyday. Some days are just worse than others. Women have it more than men because of the extra intestines needed to bend around the uterus. atleast that's what i've heard.

I have IBS. It gets worse when I'm under stress or before my period. Sometimes a salad makes me feel terrible too. I used to pig out on salads at olive garden. Everyonce in a while I'd be in so much pain afterwards i could hardly stand up. I also found drinking green tea was making everything a lot worse. I think of it as my body's way of telling me to stop letting something stress me out. I used to be stressed out all the time, but now I know I can't let myself be. So I just don't worry about stuff as much. It feels good.

PS. welcome to the forum. With a name like "starfish kate" you will fit in here. Are you wanting starfish stuff at the wedding? Shelly started a great thread with starfish ideas.

I don't think you are a bad sister. I just think that's a stressful situation to be in. The decision of when to get married should be between you & your sig other. You shouldn't have to also coordinate it with your sister. I understand why your parents would want that, but it's not very realistic. I think my brother & I might end up getting maried around the same time. My mom is excited. She said she is happy to only have to lose weight once.

Cramming too much in??
rodent replied to PVBride's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
My 60 year old mom is going to zipline!!! I haven't started looking for tours yet. I want to find something where we can zipline & my grandma can watch. But a lot of tours involve riding a bike. I haven't really started looking too much yet. -

However, I am just a bit skeptical as he is going to put everything to disk and we have to print frame and create our own album so that is a lot of work. I got a qoute from Juan Carlos Tapia photgraphy and for 12 hours in total of shoot he wanted $8000. He does great work but $8000 is soooooooo expensive. So I feel sick on what to do, since I want fabulous pics. Are you getting the resort to do the video portion of it too?? Do you have direct email to the photographer at all. Sabrina I would love to just have all my pictures on a disc. Then you have the freedom to do whatever you want with them. But I really love playing with pictures on the computer. -
Why did you choose your date?
rodent replied to twinkletoes's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Our date is June 21st. It's one year from the day we got engaged. We were engaged on a thursday, but with leap year that date is a saturday in 08 so it just seemed perfect. I wanted a saturday to make it easier for guest to take a long weekend. It's also summer solstice which is nice because I love long sunny days. The other say I went to get my eyebrows waxed. I had to fill out an information sheet & there was a spot for birthday & anniversary. I was excited to write 6/21!!!!! Not technically an anniversary yet, but it will be. -
I just tried farecompare.com . I can find prices from now until next year, but will it show you last year's prices?

I wouldn't want to miss breakfast. I would not feel good doing something that active if I hadn't eaten. -
Advice on registering for knives
rodent replied to rodent's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
BB&B was so helpful. They really treat you like a VIP when you register. I ended up registering for cusinart knives for the set & 2 small wustoff knives. I use the little knives all the time for chopping. I hardly ever use a big knife. I didn't really like the kapoosh block. Have you tried it? I stuck a knife in it & it slipped down. I could see it getting a little messy. What kind of sharpener should I get? -
UH-OH, my guests are not behaving!
rodent replied to Jackie's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
This is what I said on my website: "We hope that all of our guest will join us at the Catalonia Riviera Maya in the town of Puerto Aventuras. The Catalonia is an all-inclusive resort so your meals, alcohol, and entertainment are included. Kids stay free and there is a kid's club with babysitting available. The hotel is on a wonderful beach with great places for snorkling, a golf course and a marina within walking distance. The resort has many restaurants, pools and activities. You could have fun the entire vacation without ever leaving the resort area. We will be getting married at a private lagoon on the hotel property. If you decide to stay somewhere else, you will need to purchase a day pass to enter the hotel for the wedding." I don't feel bad for not paying for the day passes. They are $100. So maybe someone could save $100 by staying somewhere else, but I don't think it's fair to pass the expense on to me. But really, I don't think they could find cheaper. That's also why I don't feel bad about it. I picked out a really inexpensive hotel. It's $80-$90 per person per night. I really think people would regret staying somewhere else, so I don't want to encourage it. I also wouldn't want to try to coordinate doing stuff with them if they aren't right there at the hotel. Some guest were not happy about an AI at first because they thought it would be really expensive. But, once they looked into it, it sounds like they will always stay AI from now on. -

There may be different ways to make them, but mine it like a big egg. I'll try find my recipe.

DinnerwareUSA featuring Fiesta® Dinnerware and Dishes, New and Retired Colors, Fiesta® made by Homer Laughlin China Company DinnerwareUSA featuring Fiesta® Dinnerware and Dishes, New and Retired Colors, Fiesta® made by Homer Laughlin China Company I think they are both so pretty. I registered for the large disc pitcher in cobalt blue. I also registered for the Gusto bowls, because the ones that come with the sets are too small for how much cereal we eat. The dinnerware USA website has a lot more stuff than the department store I'm registering at has. So i'm registering for most of it at the department store & then extra stuff on this website, using myregistry.com. -
This is what I'm thinking of registering for. I feel like the bright colors will remind me of our wedding in mexico. DinnerwareUSA featuring Fiesta® Dinnerware and Dishes, New and Retired Colors, Fiesta® made by Homer Laughlin China Company I'm getting scarlet, persimmon, sunflower, cobalt, shamrock & turquoise. AKA red, orange, yellow, dark blue, green & turquoise. I've never seen the glasses in person so I'm wondering if they are nice DinnerwareUSA featuring Fiesta® Dinnerware and Dishes, New and Retired Colors, Fiesta® made by Homer Laughlin China Company I'm also looking for things that coordinate with the fiestaware. I thought this stuff might look good with it Amazon.com: Mikasa Carnival Tableware Collection I didn't even want to register, but now that I am it's so much fun!

Thanks for all the advice! I might go to BB&B today & talk to someone.
