I also think it helps that it's the beginning of hurricane season, so the chances that a storm has already blown through & messed places up is not as likely.

  3. Windows movie maker is great & is already on your computer if you have windows XP. I started a thread somewhere about using it. There is also an adobe program on photobucket, but I didn't like it as much as movie maker. I like that you can add your song to it & it shows you the beat of the music. So it's easy to make your pictures change along with the music.
  4. Are you using a TA to plan your disney world trip? My TA specializes in Disneyworld. If you are interested I can give you her info. You can also get a free planning DVD off the Disney Parks page. I haven't watched mine yet, but it came in the mail really fast. We are going in a few years once my FIs nephews & neices are old enough.

It's still a little early though. We are taking engagement pics tomorrow. With those I'll make the STDs. This is what I have: booked place bought dress made website maybe have my shoes found TA started researching fun stuff to do in the area I think that's it. I'm not doing a big reception afterwards though. We are doing a standard hotel package so i have a lot less to plan. I thought of a few more things I've done. I've made my registry. I haven't put it on my website yet, because it's still in the draft stages, but I have most of it done. I plan on updating it when the wedding is closer. I've also been compiling music we'd want to use for the ceremony. I haven't started making OOT bags, but I keep a running list of things I plan on doing when i get good ideas from the forum. I don't feel like I've been doing much lately, but I realized I really have been. It's just not so frantic like it was for me the first month.
  6. Also, keep in mind you don't just have to worry about a storm hitting while you plan on being there. You have to worry about one hitting anytime 3 months before & messing up the hotel so much that it's not ready for your wedding. I avoided peak hurricane season. You may not get stressed out by it, but if you have guest who are they might drive you crazy with calls. Have you thought about dreams cabo?
  7. My friend sent me 2 more. These were taken with his camera before the batteries died. I know I'm messing up the poll by adding 2 in late, but you can just say if you'd like to replace your vote with one of these. Thanks so much for all the feedback!!!
  8. My FI doesn't like #1 & I think his shirt is bunched up funny in #3, so I picked out more choices & made a new poll. You can find it here http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...newspaper.html Thanks so much everyone for all the great feedback so far. It's silly, but putting a cool picture in the newspaper is one of the things I'm the most excited about. I read my hometown paper online every sunday to see who is engaged. It will be fun to get to put in our picture now.
  9. Here are more options than my last poll. My newspaper runs the pictures pretty large, so size isn't as big of an issue. People often run full body pictures. Here are two late added write in candidates

Thanks for voting! We took them this morning. We just met a friend on campus & he took them for us. Unforunately it was HOT! I'm glad it doesn't show in the pictures, but we were so sweaty.

  14. Capt Ricks Sports Fishing Mexico Charters, sailfish, marlin, dorado, wahoo, Puerto Aventuras, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya we are using this company. they leave from a marina near our hotel. I've heard it's great. they catch marlin immediately, wth no travel time. it may be too far from cancun.
  15. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...g-website.html Here is the thread about websites.

Are you having an AHR? There is a great thread on here about websites. I'll look for it. I'll also PM you mine. My FI doesn't want me to post it online. I used weddingannouncer.com. It's free & was just what I needed. I didn't want flash animation, because we have a lot of guest still using dialup. There are fancier websites with more background choices, but I was happy to save the money. The RSVP function isn't as great because you have to issue guest a PIN number. I am not planning to use the website to RSVP. We are taking our engagement pictures sunday. I plan on using them to make the STD & send them out sometime in the next month or so. I'm trying to keep everything really low pressure so it won't say "save the date." Instead it will be something like "we are getting married in mexico. If you'd like to join us we'd love to have you there blah blah blah here's the website." I need to work on the wording obviously. I haven't decided on invites. We might send a wedding invite out. Or maybe just the AHR invite. This is just what we are doing though. I think most people on the forum sent out cards that said save the date. I'm probably a bit ridiculous to be uncomfortable using those words. That's just me. I have to use 6 sentences to say something that could be said in 3 words to avoid feeling bossy or something. Yes, we have having an AHR. Two actually. I grew up in texas & all my family & a bunch of friends are there. We are going to have some sort of party in texas. I want to keep it fun and casual, like maybe a BBQ. But I'd like to show the video, so I haven't planned that yet. I've lived in North Carolina for 3 years now for grad school & have some great friends here too. So we are having a NC party. A couple we are friends with offered to have it at their house (our place is too small). We are going to show the video on their TV. I'm buying a keg, making salsa, etc. It's going to be a fiesta. We'll probably get a pinata too. I'm really excited about that party because it will be just like any other laid back party with friends. OK I'm searching for that website thread.
  17. Great advice! I was at a wedding where the bride & groom left for a while after dinner & went for a walk together. It was really sweet seeing them go off alone. I want to make sure to remember to take some time out like that & maybe go walk along the beach. I do get into hostess mode & want to make sure everyone is happy. I know it will feel great to just think about the two of us a while.

After our walk, he dropped me off at the restaurant where I was having brunch with the bridesmaids and then we didn't see each other or talk until I walked down the aisle. It was sweet all the way around. But what you do is really just up to you. That sounds like what I had in mind. Spend the morning together & maybe have an early lunch together & then go our seperate ways until the ceremony. An early morning walk along the beach sounds like it would be so romantic.

  20. I paid $65 in San Antonio 6 years ago. I was completely shocked at the price. I think I hadn't paid more than $35 before that. That was the last wedding I got my hair fixed for (bridesmaid). After that I did it myself. Nothing great though. For one I put in one of those curly fake hair things. I thought I was going to look silly, but everyone thought I had paid for an updo. Now that my hair is shorter, I just wear it down & curl it for weddings. But now as the bride instead of bridesmaid, I feel like I should let myself spend a little more & have it really pretty.

I'd like to be able to hang out at the beach in the morning. I just don't want to feel like I need to sit in the hotel room & watch TV.
  22. So far it sounds like $100 isn't overpriced. I was a little shocked at the price, but I guess it's worth it because it's the day I'll be the most photographed of any other day.
