Yes, i totally get what you mean about keeping the white space all the way around. I was being a little sloppy since I'm trying so many things. I need to center everything more. I'd like to see the one you made. I'm redownloading the trial of lumapixs to see if I can make it just how I want it. I think I will return to tangerine too. Do you like tangerine with brown or dark blue like it was originally?

I'm playing around with my colors. This is probably a backwards way to determine my colors, but I only care that they are bright (and don't look too much like university of texas colors). Not that I care so much, but I know guest would pick on us if they were. I'm not having bridesmaids or bringing my own decorations, so our colors won't play such a big role.

Here is a powerpoint file with my logo if anyone wants to adjust it. I'm not stuck on these colors either. I wanted a tangerine color, but I don't think I was able to get the color I was imagining. I also have to avoid it looking too much like burnt orange, because we went to Texas A&M. I haven't picked out wedding colors. Really my logo will be the only thing in my color. I don't want a particular color, but I want it to be bright & festive. I'm playing around with colors now & I'll post it. Oh, & if anyone wants it, feel free to use my logo template. Morganslogo.ppt

I don't remember for sure, but I think you can upload a completed project .jpg to vistaprint, and therefore use your own fonts. I think there is a size limit to the upload though, so make sure your finished project is small enough. Does that make sense? Another layout idea (to keep it simpler, and make your logo stand out more) would be to just to 2 large pics (I like the first two from the left the best, just my opinion) with your logo in the middle, and text underneath it. I'm thinking that by the time this prints out as a postcard the pics are going to be pretty small, and it might be better to emphasize a couple of them and see them well. But, if you leave it the way it is, it's already good. If you don't make any other changes, I would just make the picture on the upper right align with the one underneath it, and do the same with the 2 middle photos...it will look more balanced that way. Just a couple suggestions! So true! I bet everything will look really small. I wanted to do a test print, but I'm not on the computer hooked up to a printer. Here are links to the pictures & my logo if anyone feels like playing around with it for fun. I'd really like to include the picture that is on the upper left side b/c I really like that one. The picture that is top center is also a favorite. But they are both tall, so if it would be more interesting to have a tall & long picture then probably the one in front of the pond would be the best. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ngmonogram.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/Picture1.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/DSCN1598.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...s826.07024.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...s826.07049.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...s826.07058.jpg

I was thinking my logo looked a little faded, but wasn't sure what to do. I can also brighten my logo. I might try both options. I think my dots might need to be darker around my logo.

I'm thinking about using a photo collage for my STD. Any suggestions to improve it? I was thinking shadows around the pictures, but I don't think I can do that in powerpoint. I'm playing around with lumapix to see if i can recreate it with shadows. I was planning to order these as post cards through vista print & type a message on the back. Can you use your own fonts in vista print or do you chose from theirs? I wanted to make it look handwritten like a post card. Can I upload this on vista print as 1 image? Oh, the website is fake b/c my FI doesn't want me to post our website url on the internet.

How does rainfall of envelopes work? Do they charge a fee?? -

I know that's not the best way to learn, but I'm only wanting to be a little conversational. I learned to ride a bike when I was younger, but I fell off one on the side of a road when I was 14. A friend honked at me & I got startled & fell. I put the bike in the back of his truck & I've never been on one since. My school has just started loaning bikes like library books. I'm thinking about getting one & trying to ride again. Did you go to any places in RM where you could do the zipline without riding a bike to get there? All the tours I've looked at so far require a bike ride. Another friend who has fallen off a bike & not got back on will be at the wedding. Funny, we are not scared of the zipline, but scared of the bike ride.

Photoshopping them, making calendars, ordering prints, removing red eye, framing them, putting them in albums, etc. I'm currently organizing a beer tasting party. Sort of a hobby. Star- erasure Erasure - Star Lyrics star- bryan adams wishing on a star- beyonce shooting star- elton john star spangled banner shin on- jet The Lyrics Are Below There was an alternative song in 2006 that was about stars. I wish I could think of it. It's right on the tip of my tounge in that annoying way that songs can be. I think it's by one of those groups with a short name. Jet, The Killers..but it's not them. Someone like that. What is this for?

I say go for it. I love creative invites. I don't think older guest will think they are tacky. I actually think they will enjoy them the most. I made some crazy invites for a wedding shower that I was worried some people would hate. Once they went out I got a bunch of phone calls from people saying they were so cool. The older ladies liked them too. They were in clear envelopes so the addresses were written on colorful paper inside. I think as long as the invites are clear & easy to understand, people will like them & appreciate your creativity. My former boss got an invite that was a plastic box full of water and plastic fish. You read the invite through the water. Unfortunately something went wrong with hers & the water was dark brown & smelled bad. It was hard to read the invite through it. But she still thought it was awesome because it was so original.

Reception party back home?
rodent replied to TOESNTHESND's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Funny how so many of us think alike. Maybe that's why we chose DWs in the first place. I plan on having a BBQ at a park sometime a month or two after we get back. The thought of having a formal AHR makes me feel sick the same way thoughts of a formal wedding does. I only have a good time when I'm relaxed so I only want to plan relaxing events. -
Who Pays For The Welcome Dinner?
rodent replied to matty-g's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Are you staying at an AI? If you are, why not just have dinner there together? I would say otherwise just skip a welcome dinner & do something different. I think it would be fun to get a cooler of drinks & meet at the beach at sunset. -
What do you think of this dress?
rodent replied to michelle08's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I don't think it's a good mother of the bride dress either. An easy way to suggest it's not the right dress to your sister, is to say you are worried the print won't photograph or film well. I don't think it would. Stripes can look funny on film, so I'd worry about wavy stripes a lot. I think it's a cute dress, but it's also not something I'd pick for a big event. She'll be photographed a lot. It should be special. I also think it looks like a young style. If you mom is young or looks young it could work. -

I don't know if I can make the front soft enough. I don't want it to look slicked back. I wear my hair up everyday, so I don't want it to look like just another ponytail day. I'm in a wedding in Jan, so this will probably be how I wear my hair for that. I stopped paying for updos after the 3rd time I was a bridesmaid. If I like it enough I might do that for my own wedding.
