My new shutterfly photobook
rodent replied to rodent's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
You can change the backgrounds. You could pick a different one for every page. I just wanted to keep it simple & use the same one throughout. I made a mother's day book & used different backgrounds & frames for each page. It took forever!!! -

"What kind of statement is that? Start a thread and SHOW US THE PICS!!!!!" ~Tami Still makes me laugh. Here is a photobook I made on shutterfly. It's for my grandma to take to the bingo hall & show her friends. The cover is blue satin. The pictures are our engagement pics, the day we got engaged & some favorite travel pics including a recent trip to england & france. There are a lot of normandy pics b/c my grandma is very interested in WW2. The books are $29.99, but there are always deals to get them for less. Mine have all been free!

A little time to rest up & start planning for the next trip. 1/4 of the fun of a vacation for me is the planning. I like learning about all the fun places to go & decide what I want to see. 1/2 is the vacation it's self & the other 1/4 is having the pictures to look at when I get back. Ok i just made up those fractions, but I like all those elements of a vacation.

I always get my coupon codes from slickdeals.net. Click on forums & then use the search button. Don't search from the front page. It never brings up all the results. They always post photo free shipping codes. Pretty much before I buy anything, I scan slickdeals first. Then I check with you guys to make sure it's a good buy. Oh, I'm becoming so forum-codependent. -

I just ordered two shutterfly.com books. I don't know how the quality compares to mypublisher but I'm pretty sure it's not as nice as shared ink. So far, I have just ordered them for cute gifts & wasn't too concerned with them being really fancy. I ordered an 8x11 for my grandma of all of our engagement pictures & best pictures from vacations. I had the choice of a satin, suede, or leather cover. I chose blue satin. It looks really nice. It was hard for me to ship it off today, because I've been having so much fun looking at it. This is just something for her to take to the bingo hall & show her friends. I took pictures if anyone wants to see it. The other book I ordered was our guest sign in book. It has 1-2 small pictures on each page & a lot of blank space for people to sign. I hope it turns out nice. I was in a rush to finish it last night, because my free shipping code was going to expire. So far I've just used shutterfly, because I keep getting offers for free books & free shipping. I also made a cute colorful book of our little kid pictures for mother's day. My mom loved it. They also put a blank page at the end, but suggest you pay an extra $1 to add a picture to that page. I did that for all books but the guest book. I figure for the guest book it will just be an extra autograph page. They have 12x12 books, but I'll have to check if it's available with a leather cover. I'm intersted to know if there are better websites for making our wedding album. I'd like to make a really nice book with a book cover. For just playing around and making cute gifts, I've been really happy with shutterfly. Especially since I haven't had to pay more than $1 per book.

We are staying in riviera maya 7 days for a wedding/ honeymoon combo. I prefer to vacation for less than 10 days at a time. I get tired of eating different food after a while & just want to get home & start playing with all my vacation pictures. We'll probably take a great anniversary trip next year. Right now I'm thinking costa rica. If we feel like we missed out on a honeymoon when we get back, we'll go to a B&B in the North carolina mountains.

Help finding this bracelet! (pearls)
rodent replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Oh, that's fine if you can't find it. I just started searchingand already know more about pearls than I've ever known before. I think I'll be able to track down the bracelet I want. -

Help finding this bracelet! (pearls)

So I found out they are called rice shaped or oval shaped. I also found other freshwater pearls that look just like this, so I guess that is what they are. Now I just need to find a rice shaped, freshwater pearl bracelet. -
I copied you shelly I have a necklace with pearls on it (careful not to say it the other way) and I'm trying to find a bracelet to match. I was given the necklace in highschool from someone very special and wore it to many of the big events (prom, graduation, senior pictures). I'm wearing a different necklace for my wedding, but it also has some pearls. So I thought it would be cool to get a bracelet to wear to my wedding that would match my other necklace so I'd now have a set. The thing is, I don't know anything about pearls & I don't know what type they are on this necklace. I was always told the were freshwater pearls, but I just googled freshwater pearls & they don't look the same. These pearls are long & very rough. And I don't think they are real, but I think they are really nice fakes. I don't care that the bracelet be real pearls either. Does anyone know what the long, rough looking pearls are called? I'll go take a picture to make it easier. Thanks for your help!

OK, I ordered them today from Vista Print. I got 100 postcards with 2 image uploads for $12 shipped. I will probably need to order more, but I'm going to wait until these come in. Can you get another cheap deal on ordering the same postcards again? Once the images are uploaded it seems like you can use them again for other projects. I got my text on the back a little too close to the top. It isn't cropped off, but it's right against the top. I didn't think it was worth another $4.99 to redo it though. I hope it looks fine. There checkout is a little annoying. It's constantly giving you other offers of things to buy. Then at the end a timer showed up & they gave me 10 minutes to decide if I wanted 150 more postcards for $18. Kind of funny to see all their sales tactics. I can't wait to see my save the dates in person!!!!

How do you clean your ring?
rodent replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I went to a jewelry store at the mall & they cleaned it in a minute. I haven't had a ring cleaned in a long time, but it took an hour when I did it before. Must be different equipment now. Afterwards, I realized the smudge on the top was still on it. I'm pretty sure it's from latex gloves. Once I get it off, I'm going to start wearing liners in my gloves to keep it from happening again. -

i have really sensitive skin too. If the makeup isn't right for me, I'll get ichy red splotches on my face. I decided to give bare minerals a try. i went to a sephora in the mall this morning & had them put it on me. then I went shopping & ate lunch. after all that my skin felt good, so I went back & bought it. they said it doesnt photograph well & will my my face look white. So I tried on "make up forever" which is a stage makeup that they said would look good for an outdoor wedding. I liked the look of it, but I didn't bother buying it yet.

We went to see the secondy city comedy tour last night. It's a group that does improve comedy & skits. A lot of SNL stars & other comedians have performed with them. It was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen! We laughed the entire time. There is a video on their website, but it's not as funny. Maybe because it's not live, but laughed a lot more last night than watching the video. Anyway, it's still good if you want to watch it. http://www.secondcity.com/video/US_T...TourCoReel.wmv Here is their US tour schedule. If they are coming to your town I suggest you go see them. The Second City | Tour Schedule They also perform in canada, but I couldn't find the schedule on the website.
