With everything I've bought recently they have sent me a sample card with a coupon for a free one to try it out. I ordered another bday card & a congratulations card yesterday. Both covered in silly pictures. I also love the calendars. I make them for a bunch of christmas presents. Each month has a different picture of someone in the family. You can enter all the birthdays, etc & it prints them on the calendar. It saves the info for each year too.

Leave the phone numbers & last 4 digits for your credit cards with someone so they can cancel them if they are lost or stolen. Call your credit card companies and inform them you will be in Mexico so they do not freeze your account due to suspicious activity. Inform your bank you will be in Mexico, if you plan on using your ATM card. You can ask them to temporarily raise the max on how much you can withdraw per day.

Bachelorette Party Etiquette

I know that a lot of the girls are bringing friends, I may bring my sisters, etc. I think you can invite anyone you want! Yeah, this is what I'm used to too. I was invited to one where I didn't even know the girl. I think people would rather be included in the party even if they aren't invited to the wedding than excluded. -

Bachelorette Party Etiquette
rodent replied to tinabop's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think it depends on what the event is like. For showers I think it's rude because people feel pressure to bring gifts. I never think showers are much fun either so I wouldnt want to go to extra showers if I'm not going to the wedding. If the party is more like a fun night out, I think you should be able to invite whoever. For mine we are just going out dancing. I imagine there will be girls invited that I don't even know to well b/c they are my friends friends. really anyone who wants to go dance that night. If gifts are involved I think it's different. -
it's free. sometimes it's good to make an appointment. I always feel pressure to buy, but I prefer to have time to check it out & see if I like it. I also have sensitive skin and some stuff makes my skin red & itchy. So now I tell them I need to wear it for a while. I write down what they put on me & this gives me time to think about it. I usually check if they make commission to know if I should come back to the same person. it is more expensive than drug stores, but for powder & foundation its totally worth it because the match the right color for you. I also have a lot of drug store lipstick & eyeshadow I dont wear b/c I dont like it. So I feel like if I can try it & buy less because i know i like it I'm saving money (or spending about the same). I also try to go when they have the bonuses. Certain products I still buy at drug stores. I think maybelline mascera is as good as any other brand. sephora is pretty cool because you can try stuff from all different places. i didnt think they spent as much attention to my makeover though.

Bottom line - can you or can't you bring food into Mexico?
rodent replied to Can'tHardlyWait's topic in Honeymoon Forum
when i went to cancun in 1999 we took a bunch of food. i heard our hotel had bad food & we lived off the pringles & crackers we had packed. my friends mom even packed gallons of flavored water. -
I've heard a lot of the TA companies that say they will pick it out for you just forward you all the info you can find yourself. I found this forum more useful than anyone I could've hired to do it for me. I'm heading home from work, but I'll look at your list & see if I can think of anything that fits.

I read the same poem but it was about sand dollars. I do think its a contradiction to attach the poem to a starfish that was harvested & therefore killed, you know? I read that poem on a website encouraging you not to buy sea creatures. I'm definitly not judging anyone for buying starfish. I'm just trying to figure out for myself what I'm OK with. If they truely do eat coral & it's better for the ecosystem to remove them then that's understandable. But the same websites that said that was OK also sold sand dollars which are not a predator of coral. I stongly believe in responsible tourism, which is one thing I liked about the the riviera maya area. The area seems concerned with sustaining the ecosystem instead of just making a bunch of tourist dollars.

I'm hooked on shutterfly. I just made my friend a birthday card. They are $2.49 plus 99cents shipping. Right now they are sending out free promo codes when you order something (comes in the package). The card is so cute. Sorry, no picture yet. It has 8 pictures of her on the front being silly. Then in the middle it says "happy birthday, kat." I was able to personalize the inside too & write silly stuff. The price is as good as a regular card at the store, especially if you combine shipping with other stuff. I'll probably start making photocards for most birthdays now. I don't like to give a card unless it's really funny or personal. usually i buy those fresh ink cards at hallmark.

I tried to find more info on whether or not it is ethical. I found some sorces that said the starfish are predators of something else. I can't remember what it was. Coral? Anyway, they said that they harvest the starfish to protect this other creature. But this was from a website selling starfish. I know buying coral is never OK. Also those big trumpetor shells. They are so pretty so people scoop them up to sell & the creatures that live in them can't find homes. I didn't find a conclusive answer so I decided not to buy any starfish. I also didn't find a good source for fakes. But I haven't spent a bunch of time looking into it.

Someone else with my date! We were engaged June 21, 2007 & are getting married June 21, 2008. I also think it's cool that its summer solstice. Originally I was looking at Akumal, but ended up finding a hotel that fit what I wanted in Puerto Aventuras (between Akumal & PDC). I don't think you will have a problem finding a place. Some book up far in advance, but others can be booked a few month prior. You'll find the forum really useful for getting started planning.

Especially on a website where you can write as much as you want. You wouldn't want to put a paragraph about what to wear on an invite (unless it was a seperate page) but on the website you can really say as much as you want.

They are in!! It only took 10 days. I think they are so cute, especially when there is 100 of them. I've spread them out on the floor just to look at them all together. the back is a little funny because I thought I had to leave room for a barcode. It was on the template. So I put the text up too high. Oh well, I still love them. DIY wedding projects are the best! The grand total shipped was only $12.
