You would have to pay to download your friends pictures to use them off the website. If they emailed them to you, you wouldn't need to pay. I do not know of a website where you can download a high res copy of the picture for free without your guests needed to download a program first. I am looking for one. You can share the pictures for free on all the websites. If a wedding website gave you free storage of prints, you wouldn't always be able to download it free. You can right click & save the picture, but it's usually not a big enough file to do stuff with. I'm checking out windows live spaces. I'm pretty sure you can download a high res image (free) and I don't think it requires a download. It says it's temporarily down right now.
  2. Wow 5 sessions! I am so envious of people who tan easy.

Depends on your skin. If I was going to tan, it would be better for me to start 3 months before & tan gradually. Tanning beds make me itchy & make my skin splotchy. They also break me out. I have to go for short times only a few times a week. Some people can tan for a month going almost everyday & get a nice tan. I decided to stop fighting it. My skin is light & hates tanning beds. I went on & off for a few years in college, but I don't go now. I also think it's a good idea to cover your face with a towel sometimes. Some people do every other time & others do it for part of the time. You usually don't want your face to get too dark. It's also where the ageing effects will show up first & matter more. Plus, you will start getting white on your eyes from the googles. Do you watch sunset tan? One of the owners has very noticable tan lines on his eyes. A lot of people just don't wear them, but it's really bad for your eyes not to. I never thought a tanning bed tan looked any faker than a real tan. It's usually just that people will overdo it or stay tan year round.

I think it's better to avoid something that requires guest to download a program (Picasa, Kodak easy share) and use one like snapfish or shuterfly.
  5. Water bottles can implode on the plane too. On a recent trip I cheked a diet coke & a bottle of water. Both leaked all over my stuff. I think you might as well buy it when you get there. Some AIs give you free bottles of water. You can only carry on containers up to 3 oz. I like to have a bottle of water when i fly, so I take an empty bottle with me & then fill it up in the fountain when i get past security. I can't always find them for sale in the terminal.

  10. Del Sol Stores How about these? They are $1.49 & shipping on 30 is $10.
  11. Those seem pretty expensive. I paid $1 each for mine. This was a few years ago & the place is closed. I thought about these for OOT bags, but didn't know where to find them.

I actually really want to start w/ something like Waltz then break into a surprise dance but that will be a big challenge for Paul since he doesn't really dance. I think waltz is a great choice. it's easier to learn, but looks great & is so romantic. I agree, a surprise dance for a nondancer would be hard. He might be so nervous.
  13. I think 2 private lessons & a decent amount of practice on your own would be enough. They often have wedding packages where they make a wedding dance for you & you learn it. I don't know how much the cost. There were couples doing that when we took our lessons. I am assuming you are talking about ballroom waltzing. But, I see you are from Texas. Are you talking about a county waltz? That's much easier to learn. When I took dance lessons in texas the waltz was really different. I miss county dancing! Mike doesn't two-step or waltz & he hates country music, so I never get to dance like that anymore. That's why we started swing lessons. We just need to go out and dance more. We were pretty good for a while & then we completely stopped dancing. I hope we haven't forgotten!!!
  14. Snapfish lowered prices for downloading a high resolution image!!!! It's now only 25 cents for the first one and 5 cents for each additional picture. Now that it is so inexpensive, this will probably be the option I use. I will only need to download the really good pictures that I would use for projects. People who have 35mm cameras can mail their film into snapfish. They will mail them prints & upload their images to the website. My mom always uses this option so I can see her pictures online. It would also be useful if you pass out those disposable cameras at the wedding. I also plan on buying a 35mm underwater camera, so it will be nice to be able to post those pictures too.

That was 3x20 minute lessons covering a bunch of dances. It is really just to get you in the door to sell you more. After that we bought 3x40 minute sessions & only worked on east coast swing. I think we paid $60 per lesson. These were private lessons. We took group lessons before, but didn't like them. I think a couple private lessons to get you started really helps. Do you already know how to waltz and you just want him to learn? It would probably help to have a female instructor so he can dance with her to learn. We both danced with the instructor & then we'd dance together. It was much better than the group lessons where we danced together & were not sure if we were doing it right. It can get pretty frustrating when you are first learning.
  16. I just downloaded picasa. I dont think it was easy enough to use to ask my guest to download it & share their photos this way. It collects all the pictures off your computer & organizes them in the program. I don't want to ask them to use something that starts to make changes to their computer. I might use snapfish because you can purchase the high res images. There might just be a few pictures I will need for making my photobook. If I can't get the person who took them to email it to me, I'll pay to download it. What I'd really love is if everyone mailed me a CD of their images. I think a few of my friends would do it, but I know not everyone will. I don't care to get gifts for our wedding. I just want the pictures!!!

  18. I wanted to make sure my flower was very secure. So I thought of a bunch of options and came up with this. I bought a flower on a stem at a craft store (~$4) and a clip. I already had the craft wire. I cut the flower off it's stem leaving a little piece behind. I looped the wire under the leaves. I looped the free end around the wire many times to hold it on (like a lasso). Then & looped the wire around each section of the clip & circled the stem. The wire is stiff enough that it will not come unwound. If it wasn't I could have looped it many times to secure it. Here is my new hairflower
  19. i cried watching anns video with the hand ceremony. Then when I tried to tell my mom about the hand ceremony I cried while trying to explain it. We will probably do the hand ceremony (if I can keep it together)!
  20. We are here for you if you need someone to talk to!
  21. Travelocity is the one with the adds. I actually ran into a big problem & they helped me out. I don't know if it was my fault or there's. I showed up on feb 1st for a return flight & was booked on march 1st. I thought I was going to be out all my money, but I wasn't. I think calling dreams is a good idea. Tulum is the less expensive one so maybe they will work with you. Especially since you are having your wedding there.
  22. I my experience paypal fees are 3%. I know it can vary, but 33% is way too high! Why do you say you can't afford a travel agent? There are plenty of travel agents who don't charge you anything. They actually save you money. Their pay comes from the airline/ hotel. My TA (and any good TA) is charging us less than any deal I can find online (& I'm pretty good at finding deals.) We also have so many perks using her. Even though you have already sent out your STDs you can still change things. They have to go to your website to pay so you can put all the new details on the website.

The prints are fine when you order them through snapfish etc. But you can't right click a snapfish picture & save it to then upload to another website & order it. You also can't save it from snapfish, edit it with another program, and re-upload it to snapfish. The resolution will be too low & the print won't look good. Well, I don't think you can. If anyone knows a way to do this, please let me know. i know you can pay to download it. For example, my friend uses shutterfly. Before I had a shutterfly account, I tried to copy the pictures off there to upload to my snapfish account to order them. The pictures were too low res to print. I want all my pictures on my computer so I can make a photobook using lumapix. Then I'll upload the collages onto shutterfly (or another company) to order the book. If the pictures were shared using shutterfly, I couldn't do this. I could make the book on shutterfly, but I'd then be limited to their templates. I also want to be able to edit them in photoshop first.

It was great, because I could get all their pictures at 300dpi (good enough for most projects). Now I have all their pictures & can do all sorts of photo projects with them. If they shared them using snapfish or shutterfly, I could only get lo resolution copies that wouldnt be good for most things. Or I'd have to do all projects through snapfish or shutterfly which limits options. I know snapfish allows you to buy a high res copy at about $1 per picture. My concerns about picasa is that you have to download it. I want something that would be really easy for guests to do who are not so computer savy. I also don't know how it works. I downloaded a program once for photo sharing & it took over my computer. Everytime I wanted to open a picture, I had to go through that program. it was annoying. i'd hate to mess up my guests computers. I really don't know how picasa works though, so it might actually be fine. When someone sends you the link to their pictures on picasa, it works really easily. I just need to know if it would be easy for my guests to add pictures. My other concern is I don't think guests can buy pictures straight off picasa. If the pictures were on shutterfly, they could easily buy prints. So I'm thinking my option might be to use shutterfly for sharing pictures. Then if someone adds a picture I really love, I'll ask them to email me the picture so i can use it for other projects. i'm still looking at options though. OK, I've probably said enough. Can you tell i really love pictures
