I can't post the pictures, but these take you to the picture in the slidshow. The blue dresses hanging up http://www.leighmillerphotography.co...edding#0022jpg girls in the dresses http://www.leighmillerphotography.co...edding#0036jpg girls in the dresses http://www.leighmillerphotography.co...edding#0047jpg I thought they looked great. If I had bridesmaids, I was going to let them pick from one of 5 bright colors & then get a dress they like. My friends are all so different in their style and body type. I would want them to look like themselves at the wedding in dresses they would normally wear.

I think it's great you are trying to keep costs down for you bridesmaids. Here are some of my ideas. Have you thought about picking a color & letting them pick out their own dress? That way they can pick one that fits their budget & also make sure they like it. When you have girls ranging from 2 to 24 the styles they like will be so different. I personally really like the look of everyone in a shade of blue & not so matchy. I think leigh miller just photographed a wedding like that. I thought the BMs looked great. But, it might not be everyone's taste. For a beach wedding, you can also keep their dresses more casual which means less expensive. A lot of girls on the forum wear a long, dressy wedding dress & their girls are in short beach dresses. Also keep alterations in mind when looking at options. A skirt with several layers will cost more to alter. Sometimes off the rack stuff is more likely to fit then the bridesmaid dresses. When i've been in wedding & we bought prom dresses I didn't need to get any alterations done. The bridesmaids dresses almost always need something. It was $50 the last time I had one hemmed because it had 3 layers & a wrap around front.

How are you doing your hair?
rodent replied to *JillD*'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I found this on in another thread. This is what I'm thinking about doing. I'll have a white flower on top and a veil under the bun. Once my hair gets long enough I'm going to practice doing this myself. It's such a simple style I might be able to do it. Then I won't have to worry about getting a trial updo. -
Same steps without pictures Insert->picture->from file Insert->textbox Draw->group Right click->save as (save it as a jpg not enhanced media file) Open in photoshop Image -> Resize-> Image size Unclick “constrain proportions” Set to 300 pixels Width=1677 Height= 1300 Remember about ¼ inch from the edges will get cropped.

This is one way to make a postcard using powerpoint and photoshop. You could make it in just photoshop. I just prefer to work with powerpoint. *Don't forget- don't pay full price at vista print. Go through a link like www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog for good prices. Slow shipping usually just takes 2 weeks not 11 like they estimate. Insert->picture->from file Insert->textbox Draw->group Right click->save as (save it as a jpg not enhanced media file) Open in photoshop (this is photoshop elements v2) Image -> Resize-> Image size Unclick “constrain proportions” Set to 300 pixels Width=1677 Height= 1300 Remember about ¼ inch from the edges will get cropped.

Here are the same instructions without pictures Changing background to black & white Use polygonal lasso tool (L) to select what you want to leave in color Change it to selecting the background using Select-> Inverse or shift + Ctrl + I Select brush tool ( Change color picker to make the upper left color black Change mode to color (top tool bar). Opacity should be 100%. Chose a large size brush, like 1153 pixels. Paint the background black & white Removing sunburn (same technique can be used to remove other things from pictures) Zoom way in (view-> zoom in or Ctlr +) Clone stamp tool (S) Mode: normal Opacity: 25% (good for keeping skin looking natural, for removing other items opacity can be 100%) Click Alt button & click on section of good skin Paint this section over a burnt area You will need to click Alt onto new places every so often Artistic effects Go to Filter->Artistic effects-> cutout I usually prefer 8 levels. Resize the preview box & try the different variations Do the same thing to choose other artistic effects. Some work better if there are no faces in the picture. Make the background a solid color (good for making cards) Folow steps just like in the example where I made the background black & white except two differences 1. Select a color other than black (unless you want your card in black) 2. Set mode to nomal instead of color

I have recently been playing with photoshop to learn how to edit & do cool stuff with pictures. Many of them are posted in this thread (some of the cooler ones are on page 2). http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...er-tricks.html I use photoshop elements v2.0. Some of the steps might be different on another program. Here are some of the techniques I’ve been using. Please share the cool things you do with photoshop too! Since I didnt do it in Power Point, I've just been trying to reconfigure in Word. Thanks for your instructions. One more try & then I'm handing this off to the FH!!!! Sorry I can't help much. I never do pictures in word. I use powerpoint a lot for work so i'm more comfortable with it.

I just realized you said you made a pdf. I was thinking you were in photoshop. I'm not sure how to get the right deminsions in a pdf. This is for powerpoint to pdf, but it might help From PowerPoint, choose File | Print. Choose "Adobe PDF" as the printer, and press the Properties button. Under "Quality Settings", choose "High Quality Print", then press the Edit button. If you're concerned about color accuracy, go under Color (on the left-hand side) and choose "Convert to CMYK" and "Relative colorimetric". This makes sure all colors are ones that can actually be reproduced on paper. Under Images (also on the left-hand side), set Downsampling to "Off" for all image types. This ensures no resolution will be lost from your figures and photos. Click OK, or save these settings under a new name for future use. Now add a new page size that matches the dimensions of your postcard. Say OK to Adobe setup, then click Properties to bring it up again. Sometimes it doesn't take the first time -- couldn't tell you why, though. Check to make sure the settings stuck, then click OK again. Select "Scale to Fit Paper" in the PowerPoint print dialog and press OK to create your PDF.

Heels in the sand?

Check out Shoes at Zappos.com - The Web's Most Popular Shoe Store! Our shoe store features dress shoes, casual shoes, and athletic shoes for men and women!. You can sort by wedge & see everything they have. I also like shoes.com. Shoebuy.com is OK, but their customer service isn't as great. It's free shipping & free returns. returns are really easy. -

I had originally created it in Word & then had to convert it to a PDF but I guess I didnt do it correctly in terms of the size. Sighhhh. Any suggestions Here is how to get it in the right size: Image-->resize-->image size Unclick “constrain proportions” Change resolution to 300 pixels Width= 1677 pixels Height = 1300 pixels This gives you a picture that is 5.59 x 4.33 inches. Don’t forget about ¼ inch will be cropped from the sides. Then save it as a pdf to submit to vista print. Also save it as a jpg to share with us!

I didn't have a prewedding anniversary because we got engaged on the date we set the wedding for. But I am so excited when i fill out June 21 on forms that ask for your bday & anniversary. I was also thrilled when my STDs were done. I layed all 100 out on the floor just to look at them.

Let us know if there is anything we can do or if you just need someone to talk to. Are you still making the trip? If not, I think you should still do something fun together. A nice vacation, even to somewhere nearby might be good for you.
