  3. It's a setting only made by stuller. I spent a lot of time shopping around, but as soon as I saw this I was done. It's so perfect for me. I love tulips & really liked the simplicty of the design with a little something different. My ring is white gold. These are just pictures I found online.
  4. Sorry to hear about your location! You are getting married April 09? I think you could wait until april 08 to decide. Most of us started planning a year in advance or less. That way you can see if the place has reopened.

A friend of mine had the misfortune of having her diamond fall out of the prongs and it was lost and gone forever about 6 weeks prior to her wedding this past July. If they hadn't had it insured they would've had to buy a whole new diamond... lucky for her she got it insured immediately after getting engaged and the insurance company gave them the money within 2 weeks, so she got her engagement ring back with a new diamond about 10 days before the wedding. Also---if you haven't done this, you should call around to a few jewelers and ask for a quote. It's not terribly complicated for them to do if you give them all the info over the phone. Your stone should not move at all, get that sucker fixed! yes, I got it fixed. i have found a really good jeweler in town (I've only lived here 3 years so i had to shop around for someone good.) I really like this guy. I had to get my ring resized when I first got it & I took it to him. My FI had one of my rings sized for comparison somewhere & they did it wrong so he ordered my ering too big. Anyway, I was really impressed by this guy. He is really nice & knows a lot about jewelry. So he was who I called when I noticed it was loose. He said I had the problem because Tulipset (my setting) can be hard to set, so it probably wasn't done right the first time. I would have bought my ring from a jeweler I trusted, but the type of stone I wanted wasn't easy to find last year when I picked my ring out, so I picked one out from an online company. It's a moissanite, which is a lab created, durable, colorless stone. It's an inexpensive stone, so I did not get insurance. My ring was probably around $700 so I didn't think insurance was necessary. I might look into it though because it should be cheaper on a less expensive ring.
  7. Depends on what you want. I wouldn't want to be legally married a whole year & not tell anyone. We plan on doing it the week before we leave. You do end up with a different date on your certificate. but even if we did it legally in mexico on a saturday, the date would be friday's.
  8. I think it's fine. You are giving them enough color choices. I'd clarify it a little. If I was a guy I'd wonder if khaki pants with a red shirt is OK or if I need to get white pants. I think allowing khaki pants is good, because most guys already have them. If they had to go buy white pants, they probably wouldn't wear them again. The occasional guest might get upset, but also a lot of guest will love it. They will get great pictures out of it too.
  9. We are doing the legal stuff here before going to mexico for a ceremony. I like the idea of 2 wedding days. one will be just about us. The other will be a celebration with everyone. We will also be saving about $1,000 to do it this way & get to have the ceremony done the way we want. A lot of people have done the legal ceremony away & said it was fine. There are many threads on the forum about deciding what to do. They helped me make my decision. Most people decide not to tell everyone incase it ruins to magic for some people. Those who I have told agree that's what we should do.
  10. I ordered it with thinner black frames. While I was at it, I ordered our Christmas cards (a collage made with lumapix), another poster & a photobook. I also started working on a photo calendar I make for Christmas every year. This year it will be full of collages. Yay lumapix & shutterfly! I'm so excited to check the mail now that I have all these photo projects on the way!
  11. when we have sold stuff on CL, we met the people in a busy parking lot. makes me feel a little safer.

  13. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...college-2.html Should I use the black frames in this one too? This collage didn't have as much of a problem of the pictures standing out against the background. I should probably keep them the same. They will most likely be framed & sitting on a table next to the guest book at the AHR's (we are having 2- one in each state we call home. That's why I keep adding the 's).

  15. Frames of no frames? Thanks for all of your help!! I am almost finished with the project.
  16. Frames of no frames? Any other feedback? This will be the print I order tomorrow unless there are any more suggestions. Thanks for all your help!
  17. I made a new one (#5). I don't know how to add to the poll. Do you think the changes in #5 make it better?

Thanks for the feedback!
  19. This is the collage of our engagment pictures (the other was from the day we got engaged). I think I'm going to change the other one to the painting looking background. Well, first I need to see if people like it. I'm printing these off in 11x14 to hang at our AHR's. #1 #2 #3 #4 new entry #5 new entry #6
  20. Update: I'm now flying a photographer to my wedding so I went from 2 1/2 hours of photography to as much as we need the day of the wedding & a few other photoshoots while we are there.
  21. I feel the same way about flowers. I don't like spending money on things I can't keep. I'll have my bouquet that comes with the wedding package & the flower for mike. That's it. Flower centerpieces can be so expensive. When the location is already amazing, I don't think flowers are neccessary. That is a big reason why I wanted to get married on a beach. No decorating needed!
