am I out of my mind?

I felt like their were more choices at the craft store for flowers than on flowerclip. Just be sure to look at a place with good silk flowers. Michael's were much nicer than AC Moore. I am rethinking the flower I picked. I would also like a Lily, but I didn't like the stamins on the Lilys I saw. Is that the problem you are running in to? After seeing the flower you posted, I might try cutting the stamin of a Lily & putting on some pearls. So maybe just use this $145 one as your inspiration flower. I think you'll be really happy if you make something as pretty for less than $10 and know you saved $135. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ir-flower.html -
am I out of my mind?

I think it's too expensive. I think you can get something that will look just as good from flowerclip & add the pearls. I know you just get married once, but I think it's important to avoid going overboard. There are still things to pay for after the wedding. I occasionally get tempted by something for the wedding when I've been searching a lot and can't find anything I like. Then I'll come across something that looks perfect but is way too much. I know I'd regret it if I splurged on it, so I don't give in. It's like those expensive starfish sandals we've all come across & then we see they are over $100. You just have to look away. -

Do you tip your TA? I imagined I'd write a nice, personal thank you card & send some pictures from the wedding. All the time we spend chatting while planning the trip, we are becoming friends. I still need to figure out who to tip & put that in the budget. I will definitly tip the WC, waitstaff & bartenders if they do a good job. From what I've read in reviews they are usually very nice, but if they didn't seen to really care about us, I wouldn't feel compeled to tip. I tend to think of tips as saying thank you to someone for doing above what their job requires.

i click on the background then the grey "frame" toolbar pops up I chose the "image" option (chose by clicking on the box in the picture of a frame) under the catagory "background fill" there is a grey square. Click that. A color chart pops up. Chose black. My default color is white so the box is white on my screen.

This has come up a few times on the forum. People have said that the custom is if the person is self employed (photographer, etc) you don't need to tip. Several photographers said they don't expect tips, but they do like hearing how much the person enjoyed their pictures.

I'm a MOH in a wedding in january. I want to make a funny/cute gift for the bride. I was thinking a wedding day or night or both survival kit. So far I've come up with a few things. These are all for the wedding night. 1. wine 2. CD of love songs 3. cute outfit Any more ideas? Even though I'm the MOH, I won't be around for the showers or bachelorette party so I want to do something really fun for a gift.

There are also tons of promotions. I get a couple free books a month. there are lots of threads on here about photobooks so you should be able to find out all you need to know. I do think you can make your own inexpensively and make it look great.

I thought in the orginal post you were looking for a place that would let you stay free during your wedding. You are looking for a place where you can stay free for a site visit? I am pretty sure I've heard of people getting very low rates for a site visit. Have you thought about not doing a site visit? A lot people on the forum never do a site visit & everything works out fine. I'm not planning to do one.

Ring Problem
rodent replied to BillysBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Another thing we have in common- This happened to my ring!! I looked down one day & thought it might have moved. I realized I could rotate it slightly. I took it in 2 weeks ago & had it tightened. It cost $35 & he had it fixed by the next day. I was telling a friend about it & she looked down at her ring & saw one of prongs wasn't even touching the stone. So yes, I think these things do happen. -
Where did my posts go?

The forum is moving fast though! I just noticed the other day I went up to VIP. I was truely excited to see that. I hope I don't go back to simply "full member." I might have to pay to make my status say VIP 1, 175. I wish i would have checked before this started. -

Found my Bridesmaid Dresses!!
rodent replied to jlink78's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Someone had this dress in light pink. I can't remember who it was but they just got married. I thought the dresses looked great in their pictures whoever it was. Good choice! -

Some people are not comfortable with paying online. Our TA takes paypal which I know some people don't like using. Then they can also mail a check. If you didn't go with AAA, would there be another agency that is all over like that to ensure everyone would have one nearby? I can see the benefit, but if they are not doing a good job then I'd look into other options.

get a different TA if she thinks the hotel you like isn't even on the correct island. I've been dealling with an online TA that works from home. There are tons out there. Mostly we email, but sometimes we talk on the phone. It's worked good for me. I pretty much knew exactly what i wanted. i just needed someone to book the guests, not help me pick a location. If you prefer face to face communication you might want to search for someone local. I prefer to do most stuff online.

That's so interesting...a number of date sites put the solstice at June 21, 2008 @ 00:00 or just a few minutes earlier. In other words, it's weirdly right around midnight. However, looking at sunrise/sunset times in Cancun (nearest city with prediction times), the 21st is still the longest day of the year. Therefore, I think we both picked the right date! Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Great! I'm glad the 21st is the true solstice then. My shutterfly calendar & wikiepedia said the 20th. But if some sources say the 21st, I'll stick with that. Either way, the whole time we are in mexico we will have long sunny days

I will talk to my TA about making sure the guests are not labled as wedding guests. When she bought our trip she told them we'd be there for our wedding. I'm pretty sure my dad's receipt didn't say anything about a wedding. I think we should all consider avoiding things that would make our guests targets such as having the hotel pass out OOT bags or deliver them to rooms. Avoid hanging signs on everyone's door. But then will they just see monogramed cups & OOT bag in the room & make note of where they are? I don't want to ruin everyone trip by being too paranoid.

I was planning to suggest people not use the safe. Someone earlier suggested hollowing out a section of a book. We will also put small locks on all our luggage & suggest our guests do the same. How do the staff know which rooms all the wedding guests are staying in? Did they specifically target the wedding guests during the ceremony?
