  2. You can get insurance so that if you did have to cancel, you'd be able to refund everyone's money & get back what you spent. I think someone said they got $40,000 for $400. I'll look for the post. I know that is not what anyone would want to do.
  3. Why worry about regretting it later? You can just buy some in the future if you find you wish you had it.
  4. I think the main thing we need to know is if people will lose money. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this!!
  5. I am not registering for china. I know people feel really differently about it, so just do what works for you. I have no interest in having china & my friend is registered for 4 different settings. I'm more they type to have thanksgiving on paper plates so there are few dishes to do. She was planning her first thanksgiving with china a year in advance. If you like it, then buy 2 more settings some day. If you really don't care about it, return it. I don't believe in spending money on something you don't really care about.
  6. It is as safe as any online bank, which I already use a lot of. There are always risks so it is a good idea to research it. I read quite a bit before deciding to use it. Here is some info about the security From yahoo money "Safety, security, and privacy Yodlee is the dominant player in this industry, and the company says it is fanatical about security. All data are encrypted and stored on computers in a building at an undisclosed address. To get into the data center, employees have to go through several identity checks, including a hand scan. Yodlee promises that it won't share personally identifiable information with third parties. On the other hand, if you sign up for aggregation service through your bank's Web site, Yodlee says it can't control what the bank does with any information it gleans. You'll have to check your bank's privacy policy." Sounds secure, but if hackers were to target something, a website with a collection of accounts would be a good thing to target. I can also see how this will protect you. You can really stay on top of everything, so you are more likely to notice if something has happened with an account. I have some credit cards I don't use, but they are still open. A website like this will help me keep track to make sure no one found a way to use them.

Parents love them as they are more of a keepsake. You submit a faceshot of the child and they put it on the child character in the book. I think they were around $50 or so including shipping. I saw the ABC & sesame street books. They are more like a book than the dora & diego ones which are more of a photo album. I made the dora & diego books, because I had codes for free 8x8 books. But, I think the ABC & Sesame street books might be a little nicer. I'm interested to see how the kids react to them. I know the moms will like them, but I don't know what a kid will think about it. I'll let y'all know. I forgot to post our christmas cards. They were from shutterfly too.
  8. I just read about this in Money Magazine. I have started setting up an account today & already love it! https://moneycenter.yodlee.com/ You enter all your bank & credit card info into this site & it keeps it all organized for you. With one click you can see your networth. It can also keep track of cash back rewards, airline miles, and so much more. I have so many online banks that it can be a pain to keep up with them all. This will really help. You do have to give them a lot of personal info (bank account passwords, etc) but it's a legit site. It was in this month's money magazine. Here is a link to the article: Best money Web sites Your financial life: Track it. - Dec. 4, 2007 Here is a quote "The most effective site has actually been around for years. Yodlee MoneyCenter (Moneycenter.yodlee.com) lets you upload your bank accounts, credit cards, mortgage, loans, investments and even frequent-flier accounts into its system. Then a click of a button will show a net-worth statement that considers all assets and debts - and can even factor in home values. As for your data's safety, know that Yodlee is what powers major banks' online products."
  9. Thanks everyone! I just wanted to share incase it helps you get ideas for your own gifts. I wouldn't have thought to make a lot of this stuff if I hadn't seen similar things on the forum. It's great that we can share ideas so easily with a forum. I love making photo gifts. Not just because it keeps me out of the mall this time of year. I just think they are so personal and people usually really like them. I posted one of the first photobooks I made on the forum. It was of our engagement pictures & I gave it to my grandma. She takes it with her everywhere! I had so much fun making the list of funny things from our trip. I printed a copy for myself & it cracks me up. I can't wait to give this present to my friend & watch her open it.

You should still be able to place an order with the code in your second account. once it's in the account, it should still work.
  12. As many of you know I'm addicted to shutterfly. Here are some presents I have made for this Christmas. Everyone gets a calendar. I made collages this year using lumapix. My FI's mom, 2 sisters & grandma get one calendar design that has pictures of their family. Then I made a different version for my mom, dad & grandma. The orange one is the calendar I made for us. It has pages from both of our family calendars & then some pages with pictures of friends. I like that you can enter in all your birthdays & anniversaries to print ont he calendar. It saves them for each year. This year I got to put "Mike & Morgan's wedding on June 21st"!!!! I made mike's 3 nephews & 1 niece "dora the explorer" & "go, diego, go" books. It's just like making a regular photobook, but the borders are pictures of dora & diego. Shutterfly has spongebob & sesame street books too. This is a wedding gift I made for a friend. She lived in London from sept 06-sept 07. The book is a compilation of her pictures while she was there. I also put two of her pictures on coffee mugs. The popcorn container is a joke, because she kepts popping popcorn while we were there even though it kept catching on fire in her microwave. The page is an 8x10 print. We went to see her in march. When we got back we made a list of the funniest moments from the trip. I typed them up & surrounded the list with pictures of the funny moments. If you can read the small text, they are all probably "you had to be there" funny moments. Update: Everyone really enjoyed thier shutterfly presents. I was a lot of fun giving everyone such personal gifts this year. I wasn't sure how the kids would react to the books, but they enjoyed them. They flipped through each page before opening the rest of their gifts. Mike's niece with her dora book friend at her rehersal dinner looking at the london book grandma with her calendar

Also, just googling "photoshop tutorials" brings up a lot of stuff. I started photoshopping a lot recently to remove my friend's sunburn in all her wedding pictures. I'm now learning lots of other techniques so I can be really good at it by my wedding. I like being able to remove people from vacation photos, fix stray hairs, etc. Sorry to threadjack!

She did my BD pics and if she could make this body look good I can't wait to see what she does to my wedding pics. There is some back fat I would like removed in my pics for my wedding album! If you want, I can show you how to remove back fat with photoshop. It depends on how much you want to do, but if it's just a crease it's really easy.
  20. I agree, $10 is very standard. It's actually on the low side. $20 is typical. It's really important to look at the fee the photographer charges in addition to the price per picture. I picked a package that allows me to get my pictures on a CD so I can print them off on my own for 10 cents a picture. The package was more, but I really want the freedom to do whatever with my digital images. Can you buy a CD of images? It might be $200-$400.
  21. $30 off photo gifts at Kodakgallery.com! Even on gifts less than $30! Keepsake Box $5.50 shipped...plus more possibilities! - SlickDeals.net Forums the deal seems to be dead. I emailed it to a bunch of people this morning. I need to send them an email before they waste time. Sorry! If you had already entered the code in, you can probably still use it.

Sometimes shutterfly offers promotions to some people & not others. it's usually based on how much you've ordered before. maybe it's something like that. sorry it's not working for everyone!
  23. Just ordered a photo mouse pad for my step dad & a photo pen holder for my brother. the total was $20 shipped.
