I should probably move the line that starts with "invite" down a bit. I'll probably print a few styles with MPix & see what prints the best before ordering the whole set. I liked the colored one that looked like a sketch, but Mike really didn't like it. I'll probably stick to B&W then. I'm still playing around with photoshop for more effects. Maybe a light one that looks like colored pencils would look good. Which one is your favorite?

I'm thinking about getting the free vistaprint business cards to put additional info on like our TA contact info, maybe our address, my email address, phone number, etc. Should I put the website there instead? As long as it looks OK, I do like having it on the invite so people don't lose it.

Thanks again everyone for all the great suggestions. I read through a bunch of quotes, but I'm not a very sentimental person so most of the quotes were too serious for me. I really love the Dr. Seuss quote Kate (Lala) used on all of her wedding stuff, so if I can't find anything else that I like, I might be a copycat (as long as that's OK). Here are my 3 choices for the picture. I also took everyone's suggestions for improving the look of my invite. I'd love feedback, so any thoughts you have for improving the design would be appreciated!!!

These are the invitations I was inspired by. I copied the name on the top thing, but it did seem a little redundant to me. I'm going to play with some options. Maybe a quote on the top will look nice.

Here is what I have so far. I just started working on it so it's not perfect. I need to play with fonts still & make sure everything is centered. I anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them. Do you prefer black & white or color? BTW, the beautiful picture is jason lambert's. I used it for my OOT bag postcards. I still need to play around with pictures. I might try for more of a pencil sketched look.

I just fedexed documents to japan. I had to print off 3 customs forms to put in the flap. I said $1 for the value. All the stuff we fedex doesn't really have a value, so the standard is to say $1. I wouldn't know what do do about a check though. I'd first try to get a different payment method.

Wow! So many great suggestions. I'm going to do some shopping around this weekend & I'll post what I find. So far I have found some I like on ebay for much less than what I was finding on other websites.

UPDATE If you read through the whole thread, you can see the entire creative process that went into making these. If you just want the short version, here it is: I attached a powerpoint file template. Instruction for how to get it from a powerpoint file to a picture are in the notes section of the file. The fonts are attached on page 4 of this thread. The quote is in papyrus, which is probably already on your computer. I ordered these from vistaprint.com. Make sure to get a coupon. Besides an evite, how cheap can I do my invitations for? I just want a really simple flat invitation. I'd like something a little beachy on it. UPDATE My invites are done! Here is what I spent: $42 80 invites + 100 postcard inserts (vistaprint) $3 140 return address labels (vistaprint) $17 100 Astrobrites Lunar blue #10 envelopes (envelopesexpress.com) $10 card stock (AC Moore, but I recommend getting astrobrites cardstock at an office store instead) $72- total Cost per invitation= 90 cents I’ll spend about $30 on stamps. I planned to spend less, but I’m happy with the price. I had fun making them & I’m excited to send them to my guests. I didn’t plan on getting $17 envelopes, but I really wanted them to match my paper. The invites also came with envelopes, but they didn’t fit once I added the card stock. They were also cheap looking. I have a lot of card stock leftover to use for my program fans. So really, the total cost is a little less. I also have enough envelopes to mail my pre-wedding letters. Anyone come across cheap flat invitations with just a little picture of something beachy? I'm not too particular about our invitations. I don't mind printing them myself, but I don't know if that would really save a lot of money.
