Invitation after guest replies no to STD?
rodent replied to nylalany's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
My invites will also have the info about the AHR, so I'm sending them to everyone. I might also throw in a personalized note. Maybe include a link to the site where they can see pictures after the wedding, etc. -

I think emailing out a link to photographs along with a nice note about the wedding would be a good idea. I've been telling everyone that if they can't make it not to worry because we'll share videos & pictures with them when they get back.

My TA says that the agency needs everyone to pay their last payments by March 28, 2008. I was thinking of sending out the invites to everyone with RSVP cards and possibly info about how they need to make final payments by March 28 and that they can RSVP on the website. Do you think I should send those out in like late Feb and tell them to send them back to me by late April? Or should I send some sort of newsletter to folks now to remind them of payments and passports and such? The only thing with that is that I wanted to send out newsletters and travel info packets for those who are definetly going a couple weeks before the wedding. That would set me up for having to send stuff out 3 times which is alot of postage. Someone help... My wedding is a couple weeks after yours & only 7 people have paid deposits. Many people are planning on it, but I think it's hard to get them to do it before the holidays. Most people i talk to have been meaning to for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. the ones who are booked are my family & I pretty much planned it all for them & they called & made a deposit. I thought we'd all be booked by now, but it's just not happening. I really don't care if it ends up being a small wedding so it's not bothering me at all.

ordering rings from bluenile

does that code still work? -
I worked out a package that suited us too. My FI doesn't like having his picture taken, so we asked for a shorter time. I also just got the images on a CD with no prints. In the end we got a great photographer that fit in our budget. I didn't feel at all like I was haggling. They were happy to work with me to get the package we want. I also found there were a lot of great local photographers to consider so that helped me find the right photographer in our budget.

I have not been to any of these places. I went to cancun in high school, but we were only there 2 nights so we just had time for one activity. We rode horses on the beach. This time I want to snorkel at a lagoon near the hotel, zipline, go to tulum, and maybe deep sea fish. Xcaret & Xel-ha are the same company. I've heard they are great, but can be a little touristy for some people. There are really mixed reviews. maybe it depends on if someone was there on a crowded day or not. I've also heard it's over priced for snorkeling, etc. when you can just go down to a nice lagoon & snorkel where it isn't a crowded. I know a lot of our guests want to go to Xcaret, but I would prefer to go somewhere else less crowded. It also bothers me that they advertise themself as an ecofriendly place & then they have a swim with the dolphins program. I heard about hidden world from jason who said it was great. I'll try to dig up his review of activities. It was really useful. Many people on the forum have said the alltournative tours are wonderful.

I agree. That's a great necklace to wear everyday. Your card is also really sweet. They will love them. -

E-ring, to wear or not to wear...
rodent replied to ACDCDCAC's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I want our before pictures to look like before pictures. So no wedding ring. When I put them in the photoalbum, they will go before the ceremony pictures. I want it to be obvious it was the first time we saw each other dressed for the wedding. Just don't have your photographer take close up pictures of your hands & no one will notice. -
How to tell guests your registered!!!

I think that is what makes the difference. -
Google results (with everything in quotes): on the Riviera Maya 44,400 sites in Riviera Maya 79,600 on the Mayan Riviera 75,700 in Mayan Riviera 10,700 All top websites were legit sites, not just someone's blog who could be saying it wrong. I think they are all correct but I like "in Riviera Maya" the best.
-
Here is my logic (logic not grammar) you would say "on the french riviera." And Riviera Maya means Mayan Riviera. So then you'd say "on the Mayan Riviera." But, since it's spanish and "Riviera Maya" not "Mayan Riviera" I think it sounds more like a town name than a region. So I say "in riviera maya."

I agree. I would not like getting a save the date with registry info. I think you have to be extra careful with destination weddings. Most the people I sent save the dates to won't be going. I knew they wouldn't make it, but I wanted to include them anyway. If there was registry info on my STD, it would look like I wasn't trying to include them, but rather that I wanted a gift even though I knew they wouldn't make it. Also, save the dates are often really simple. Just the name, date & place. If it was name, date, place & registry info that could really look bad. Maybe if it's a really long detailed STD you can include some subtle registry info. I still think word of mouth & websites are the best way to get the information out there. -

Has anyone found a good adhesive bra? Will they actually stay on?

That's my wedding location! There are tons of great places in RM & information about just about all of them on the forum. You should have no trouble finding a perfect place.

I just ordered 20 invitations from vista print for $8.91 shipped. Using the link www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog makes the upload fee only $2.49. Once the come in, I'll stick them on some card stock & take some pictures. If they look good, I'll order 50 more & have all the invites I need. 50 more will be about $26 shipped. So a total of $35 for 70 invites (50 cents each). As long as card stock isn't over $5, I'll be under 60 cents per invite. Yay! DIY also saved me the expense of the excess 30 invites I would have ended up with if I ordered the 100 minimum from most of the places I looked. Thanks everyone for helping me save money & make invites that I'm really excited about. I started this thread saying I didn't really care about invitations. Now, I love my invites!
