  1. There were a few things I didn't like about the first guestbook I made, so I decided to redo it. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t9407 I need to move a few pictures closer to the edge so they are all the same distance. Also, the first page will have a background. I made this picture smaller
  2. Here are the ones I used: Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a little while... but our hearts forever Grandmothers have ears that truly listen, arms that always hold, love that's never ending, and a heart made out of gold. Between the earth and sky above, nothing can match a grandmother's love. Through my grandmother's eyes, I can see more clearly the way things used to be, the way things ought to be, and most important of all, the way things really are. ~ Ed Cunningham
  3. Here is what I have so far. I need to get some pictures of me with grandma when I go home for Christmas. I also need to get more pictures from junior high & high school. I skipped quickly from 7th grade to college. The book will be a small 5x7 book.
  4. A Lifetime of Memories - Scrapbooking Poetry and Sayings - Family Grandparents Sayings. Grandparents Net.
  5. Scrapbooking Poems: Grandmother I found some more. I still need to find more that fit my grandma.
  6. Is it OK to use address labels on invitations? The match my invites. Two friends are calligraphing my invites for me. But, it would save them some time to only do outgoing addresses. If I used labels, I would put them on the back of the envelope. It all depends on how long it takes them to calligraphy & if they want to do both addresses. I was so lucky to have two friends who know how to calligraphy & volunteered to do it. I ordered a set of these with our last names as they are currently to use on stuff before the wedding. Then I got a set with our last name the same for thank you letters & anything else after the wedding.
  7. I just got 140 of these address labels for free. I uploaded the design through ww.vistaprint.com/minicatalog. I then clicked the "free address label" offer in my inbox. Total price = $2.95 shipped. I love Vistaprint. The design was made with lumapix & the picture of Riviera Maya is Jason's. This picture is becoming the unofficial logo of my wedding
  8. I wasn't planning on hiring a videographer, but I'm considering it now. I would only want an hour of video to cover the ceremony. I also just need raw footage that I can edit myself. How cheap can I get a package like this? I bought a used camcorder thinking I could just have a friend film the wedding. But, I doubt the sound will be any good. They would also not want to be upfront like a videographer would be. I made my budget spreadsheet this week & I'm doing great on my budget (thanks to everyone's great DIY ideas.) So, I think we can look at the option of having a video. Any suggestions?
  9. A bag I'm taking home for Christmas is a little over 50 pounds. I hope they don't charge me. I am going to try to take some stuff out of it & cram it in Mike's bag. We are flying 2 computers home for our dads. Along with all the gifts & a bridesmaid dress it's hard to fit everything & stay under the weight. Oh, & I always overpack.
  10. Mike got me a Sonicare toothbrush. I love it! I've had it for 4 days now & my teeth feel amazing. I won't be doing Christmas with my family until the 29th. I'm so homesick tonight! This is my first Christmas away from home. I can't even begin to get into the Christmas spirit. But my teeth feel amazing
  11. Congrats! Just like everyone else- I can't wait to see pictures!!
  12. Thanks. I haven't actually looked at anything so I don't really know what I like. It just popped in my head today.
  13. i love it! I love all the colors you used. That really gives me some ideas for future photobook designs. thanks for sharing!
  14. Anyone have a ring guard or wrap for a solitare ring? My ring is a round solitare. I wasn't planning on getting a wedding band to go with it, because I really like the simplicity of it. I also don't like wearing rings when I'm working so one single band is the most comfortable for me. But, now I'm considering a band that I could wear with it when I'm not at work. I had pictured something that went around the ring & made it look like 1 single, fancier ring. Is this look still in style? My mom and grandma had something like this. But all I see lately are the seperate rings. So if this is an outdated look, let me know. I'm really clueless about wedding bands, because I only looked at engagement rings. I'd like something that gives it an antique look. I had trouble deciding between a really intricate, antique looking ring or a really simple solitare. This way I could have the option of both.
  15. You can always just get giftcards if you've run out of time. HEB has a selection from all over. You can get restaurant cards, department store cards, itunes cards, etc. all in one place.
  16. I'm going to be a bridesmaid next week. My hair is too short for an updo & too long to wear down. So I bought this little clip-on wig at Sally Beauty Supply today ($20). I'm surprised how real it looks. It's also so easy. I just put my hair in a low pony tail & clipped it on top. Just thought I'd share, because this might be an option for your bridesmaids. I used something similar years ago when I was in a wedding. We didn't have enough time to get updos because our day was packed with decorating. I might wear it again next year when I'm in a wedding that is in the country so I don't have to drive to town to get my hair fixed.
  17. Here are come picture's taken by Citalli (one of Claudia's associates). I think they turned out amazing. Citalli's prices are very reasonable. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t11129
  18. They have BM dresses that look just like my wedding dress David's Bridal - Bridesmaid 20325 Sleeveless crinkle chiffon long goddess dress with satin beaded V-neck and waist.
  19. I finally got his size, but there are no rings left! Maybe after the holidays they will restock.
  20. My grandma just turned 80 and she is coming to my wedding in Mexico. It means so much to me that she is making the trip. So I want to do something special for her. I've mentioned before that I made her a photobook of our engagement pictures that she takes with her everywhere. So now I'm making her a photobook to give her at the wedding. I'm filling it with pictures of me as a little kid. The first page has a picture of me as a flowergirl & a note saying "Dear Grandma,Thank you for being such a special part of my wedding day and my life. Love, Morgan" Now I'm looking for more poems, quotes, stories, etc to fill the book with. I have 11 pages of pictures, so I need 9 pages of text. I can always scan more pictures to fill the book. Do you know any sweet poems about grandma?
  21. Wedding Directory - Find A Photographer - StrayWeddings.com - Destination Weddings in Mexico I found this website to be really helpful. Are you talking about Claudia Rodriguez? I believe she has packages for less than $3,000. How many hours do you want? You can always work with a photographer to find a package that suits your budget. I'm having just 2 1/2 hours of photography & only digital images to get someone within my budget. I hired Erick from Claudia's team. I think Erick & Citalli might charge less than Claudia.
  22. Ryan air has similar luggage restrictions. You can have 2 bags totaling 44lbs. Most flights I've taken alow 2 bags at 50 pounds each. We are taking a different airline, but many of our guest will be on Ryan Air. I'm going to warn them about the luggage weight. It shouldn't be a problem because they are only staying 3-4 nights. As the bride, I'd have trouble with it.
