Should we start posting a link to this thread when someone asks a question that has been talked about before? That might help cut down on some of the duplicate threads. -

I saw carabeaners (sp?) for $1.50 at AC Moore this weekend. They were by the register.

Other girls from the previous wedding loaned them to girls in this wedding. It was really nice of her to save us all some money. She had planned to use the same color anyway, so it made sense to reuse these.

We wore these dresses in the matron of honor's wedding. it was great not having to buy a new dress & I was happy to get to wear this one again. Although, it's way too tight on me. I had trouble breathing in it a few times. It was too small 2 years ago in the other wedding. I don't know what happened at david's bridal, but it fit when I tried on the samples.

This isn't a DW, but I thought people might still enjoy seeing the pictures. The photographers were great to work with & they captured lots of fun, candid moments. I just put these together in a quick, low resolution collage for easy sharing. I'll make nicer collages once she gets her hi res images. Many of us made postcards through vista print. You can get 100 for about $10 with the specials. Try this link www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog We got a high resolution image from someone else on the forum to use for the picture. I have a post in the DIY forum called "making a vista print postcard" with the details. There are also some spanish to english phrase lists on the forum. I plan on printing them on cute paper & putting them in the OOT bags. Often the front desk will hand out your OOT bags, but there is usually a fee.

Website to find a BM dress for less?
rodent replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks! I used code INC1312008 & it took of 10%! I saw that the code matched the expiration date, so I just changed the code. House of brides shipping is $30, so this website is the best deal. I'll let the bride know. I'm still going to do more hunting to see if a better deal is possible. -

All my BM's got their dresses in less time than quoted (a few weeks early for everyone) and are very happy with the results! Is the coupon code just a number? Do you mine sending me the one they used? I got a thank you for registering email, but no 10% off. -
Website to find a BM dress for less?

Thanks Tami! It is $152 on that website. But, if I can get the 10% discount it will be $137 shipped. I haven't checked shipping on houseofbrides, but likely this website will be the best deal because of free shipping. -
I will be wearing Bill Levkoff dress style #874 in my brother's wedding. I found the dress for $135 on houseofbrides.com. My FSIL told me this was $100 less than the bridal salon had it priced at. I have some time to shop around so I wondered if it was possible to find it for even less. The search function isn't working on the forum (I couldn't even get advanced to work) so I can find a previous post about houseofbrides. Anyone have a good experience with them? As many of you know, I will be a bridesmaid for the 8th & 9th time this year. So I really like to find ways to save money on bridesmaid dresses. I don't have 27 of them, but I have a lot. So I plan on scouring the internet for a great deal. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them. Here is the dress. I don't know how it will look on me, but I think I'll like it.

I really like that red flower. What type is that?

If you plan on doing the same thing, check out target ASAP. There were a lot of these marked down to 20 cents per 4 pack last weekend. They are with the Christmas stuff.

This is my last post for now. Here is my dress, shoes, & necklace. The dress was from Macy's. It's oc by oc. The necklace was from Kohl's. I thought they were starfish, but I realized they are flowers later. The shoes were also from Kohl's. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...esscollage.jpg I’m redesigning our guestbook, because I didn’t really like the first one. It will have 20 pages similar to this one. They are all brightly colored with picture of us. I have found that a fine tip sharpie is great for writing on them. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...omer/page6.jpg

I decided to paint my own cups for OOT bags. I bought these cups at target in the Christmas clearance section for 5 cents each. They were so cheap I got 150 of them. I’m going to have them for my AHR, too. The paint pen was $2.80 at AC moore. The rub-ons were $3 for a sheet of 20. They are dishwasher safe on the top rack. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13612 http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...mas2007004.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...mas2007003.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...mas2007008.jpg More to come…

Here are my save the date cards. They were $11 for 100 from vista print. The web address is in AKA Frivolity. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...te/stds001.jpg These are my invitations designed with lots of help from the forum. The quote is in Papyrus. The names are in Copper Alt Caps Expert. The rest is in OptimusPrinceps. I ordered the invites through vista print. They are around 3.5 x 8.5 inches, so they are easy to mount on a 4x8 piece of cardstock. I designed them so I can trim the bottom. The cardstock is Astrobrights Lunar Blue color. I ordered some envelopes to match. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12388 http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...pyruscolor.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...wer001edit.jpg I’m using these for my address labels. I’ll stick them on the flap of the envelope. Two friends are going to calligraphy the outgoing addresses for me. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...abeltoshow.jpg I am including a postcard with my website address & TA contact info. I had to trim the top of each postcard to make them fit in #10 sized envelopes. Still more…

This is a postcard I designed for our OOT bags. The Riviera Maya picture is Jason's. I made the postcards in powerpoint. I ordered 100 of them from vista print for $11. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/baa43ca3.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_2198.jpg These are 11x14 posters I'll hang at our AHR. They are pictures from the day we got engaged & our engagement pictures. I designed them with lumapix & ordered them through shutterfly. The posters were free & I spent $6 for shipping. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...lackframes.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ensfreames.jpg more still...

I liked Heidi's idea of putting all her wedding details in the blog, so I'm doing the same. I'll start with my first project- the logo. Designing my logo was a BDW group effort. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ngmonogram.jpg Fonts: name in Dali, "&" in Kunstler script, place and date in rage italic. I made the logo using powerpoint. I later designed a 1-color logo for stadium cups. I am not going to use it, but I'll post it anyway. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...implelogo2.jpg Here is a hairflower I made. I attached it using metal wire. It's very secure. Cost was $7. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...rflower010.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...rflower008.jpg more to come...

i've heard that the only exception to the rule are co workers. It's OK to have a work shower and invite coworkers who are not invited to the wedding. I think that would really just apply if the shower was a work related thing. Like your coworkers through you a shower in the break room. I think the etiquette about showers is so tricky because they are all about gift giving. I hope that trend changes & showers start to become more of a celebration than a gift party. I usually don't attend showers & I definitly didn't want one. I would only go to this one if I felt like it. I wouldn't feel any obligation to be there with such short notice.
