  1. Have you thought about cancun or riviera maya? it's typically less expensive. Also, it's only a 2 1/2 hour flight from houston.

I think the orchid or lily sounds good...but like I said...I can't make up my mind. We are going through the same hair flower journey Want a daisy bouquet, but not a daisy in the hair. Bought a rose that was too big. Now considering a lily or orchid. At least you know you want white. I'm thinking of red & orange now.
  3. Our AHR will be in North Carolina at a friend's house. Our family is in Texas, so the AHR is just friends. I want to be really creative with this party. I also want it to have a Mexico theme. Here are my ideas so far. If you think of anything else, I'd love to hear it. We are making a backdrop (kind of like prom) that looks like a Riviera Maya beach. Then people can take pictures in front of it. I want to have some props too. Maybe a big, beachy hat. Pinata I'll have Corona, margaritas, chips/ salsa, and other mexican food (it's my favorite). I found a wild Mexico shirt at goodwill for mike. It's tommy hilfiger & says "Mexico" brightly all over it with images of Mexico. Any other ideas of how we can bring the fun of Mexico to our AHF? (After Honeymoon Fiesta)

  5. Beautiful! You can do what I do- pretend little flowers are starfish. That is if you are into starfish. I'm always saying "wow, I can't believe I found a ____ with starfish on it." Then I realize they are flowers. My necklace has "starfish." Anyway, great veil!

Each guest gets 6 photos and then your name & date are printed at the bottom. I was going to have everyone take one strip for us and put those into a scrap book type thing. They could sign the page if they wanted to. This company is great! They bring a big dress up box with beachy things and all kinds of props. Curtain Call Photo Booth Home That is so cool! They set up a retro style photobooth. I just thought they set up a station with a curtain. Mind if I ask how much that costs?

  19. If you don't have insurance, try negotiating your hospital. doctors bills. It usually works. I learned this in a health policy class. It was also in money magazine. Insurance agencies are going to negotiate the bill down to about 25% of what it was, so they are willing to work with individuals too.
  20. Take a picture of them on their back. Then rotate the image & it looks like they are flying. Sorry, I just thought it was really funny.

If you just go to Oriental Trading's website and type in 'travel mug' you can see them. They look great! I think guests will love that you made them. I painted tumbler cups with pan pens & rub on transfers. The cups were 5 cents. I doubt guests will use them much after the wedding, but really they are just fun for the vacation. I'm a bride on a budget too.

  25. Galit just posted this on another thread Hire a Van and Driver - Cancun Valet Maybe this would be a good option for taking guests to the ruins. It's a van with a private driver for $35 per hour. You can have up to 12 people. How long does it take to get from PDC to Tulum? We are in Puerto Aventuras which is south of PDC. How long is a good amount of time to spend in tulum? Any stops we should make on the way there or back?
