I'm working on making a functional template. The one I made originally was too hard for people to figure out. I didn't use photoshop much back then so I made it in a very round about way. So I'm looking for a few template guinea pigs. Someone who would want to make a brochure soon, but not in a hurry needing the thing done ASAP. You can test out my new template (work in progress) and we'll see if it's functional. PM me if you are interested & I'll post here when I have enough volunteers.

I loved his passion, his years of work plus his degree in photography and I do think he does great work. I am at a loss now. I think I may just tell him that I'll still pay for his album but that I want our unedited photos and be done with him. I know a DIY album may not turn out as nicely as one from him but I refuse to use the gross ones with black water and weird dresses. You think the filter was on the lens? Not something done afterwards in photoshop? If he did it afterwards, he should still have the pre-photoshoped version that he can do clean processing on. Having your wedding treated like the top priority is to be a portfolio builder is pretty common when you work out a trade of travel for photography. I know it isn't the case with everyone. But, I definitly felt that way with my photographer. I felt like we had to do certain things to keep her happy. And when I'd suggest pictures I wanted to have, she'd rudely remind me that she wasn't making money off of my wedding. I still ended up with pictures I really loved, but I know I would have had a less stressful experience if I would have hired someone instead of making a trade. I also hired someone who's pictures I loved, but her style didn't suite us. I wasn't really interested in having a bunch of ultra-sexy shots. That is she style she likes. I felt like we just had to do those shots make her happy. I like them, but they aren't the ones I love or would put in my album. If I had to do agian, I'd find someone with a style that suites our personallities. That is just what I did for our anniversary photographer. I found someone that shoots couples being silly & having fun. Photography is such a hard thing to shop for because you don't realize what you wish you did until its too late. I've been meaning to do a post with some tips for picking a photographer. I think I'll work on that today.

Oh my you were not kidding. That is horrid! He probably has photoshop actions to do these effects. You open the picture, press play & the action creates a look. Actions can be used tastefully to enhance a picture, but they are often overused to make things look terrible. The problem is, with only these files you can't really go back. The best option would be to turn these in to a nice black & white. Is he not giving you the disc of full color images anymore? Since nothing else on his site looked like this, I really think it's wrong that you were given images with these funky edits & he won't give you clean images now. I don't think they are artistic at all. They just look like someone got carried away with a new action set. I know when I first learned how to use actions I did some pretty horrible things to my images.

'So You Think You Can Dance' choreographer charged with sexual assault
rodent replied to Jessica's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
on wikipedia there is a list of his dances http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Da_Silva_(dancer) -
I've also been in 9 weddings & only two of the girls came to mine. I didn't let it get to me. It's just not worth worrying about who is coming to a destination wedding or not. Just enjoy who is there.

I love dress one. I actually just bought a similar dress to wear on the beach for anniversary portraits. I can picture all 8 girls turned to the side holding their bouquets in the shoulderless arm gathered around you. I think it's super cute & your BMs sound really happy with it. also with dresses what we end up buying is usually so different than what we pictured.

I haven't been to Mexico yet so I dont really know what the weather is like but when it rains does it rain all day? Were any of you given the option that you could change the day if it rains?? Thanks when it rains it rains really, really hard & then it's done. It's kind of fun. I doubt that is always the case, but that has always been my experience in Mexico & I've heard others say thats how it is there. It wouldn't be hard to wait out the storm & have the ceremony. All of our rains were like 10 intense minutes & then clear skys. -

If they already have destination wedding experience or are not looking to add them to their portfolio they will charge a lot more. Destination weddings are hard & take a lot of time so it makes sense for people to charge more. But, if they want the experience or DWs in their portfolio, some people will give you a great deal. I hired a photographer for only a little more than the cost of travel. many brides on the forum have. Check out the vendor section of the forum & PM some people who work you like. -

In our wedding package from our resort, we will get 24 free photos from Funever as well. Photo quality is very important to me! Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it. You can TOTALLY find someone great to fly in for that amount. It might even be less expensive or you will get a lot more photography. By the time you plan on a wedding & a trash the dress it's often makes sense to fly someone in. BDW has a lot of photographers you can check out. Or check with people in your area. many offer a discount for a destination wedding if it's something they are interested in doing. -

We are expecting around 30-40 people. We got a wedding package for 35 people. My issue is that i don't know if my guy will get a permanent job very soon. I have not made my deposit with Claudia yet. I was thinking of using the resort's photographer then use Claudia for our TTD. That would save us about 1k. I really want to use her for our wedding but don't want to put us in debt. Anyone use Funever and are happy with them?? Thanks so much! What would it cost you to hire funever for the wedding & claudia for the TTD? You might be able to fly someone in cheaper. If you are considering funever, find out who they would be sending to your wedding & ask to see an entire wedding from this person. Not every single picture, but a whole wedding story (like the slideshows people post). You want to know who you are getting & the quality you can expect. -

Kind of like a cameo.

My friend was saying this weekend she'd like a silhouette of her daughter, so I thought I'd give it a try. I started with a profile picture of her baby. In photoshop, I traced along the image with the pen tool. Then I filled the selection with black. I thought people might be interested in this idea of wedding stuff of baby shower gifts. A cute idea would be to stand apart holding hands & then silhouette that for a save the date. Next I'm going to try a friend's dog. I think that will be harder with the fur.
