I've read that the main thing to look for in a good zipline place is how many bases they have.

Anyway, I had a quick question for you - or anyone else out there...how did you find information on your excursions...the deep sea fisihing trip and the trip to the ruins I am also getting married in the Riviera Maya and we want to put these two outings together for our guests and I just feel lost trying to find information on them. ANY SUGGESTIONS/ADVICE Thanks!!! I got the info about the ruins tour from Matt. It's towards the end of this thread. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t8837 Capt Ricks Sports Fishing Mexico Charters, sailfish, marlin, dorado, wahoo, Puerto Aventuras, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya I might have read about the deep sea fishing trip on the forum. I can't remember. But, I was excited to find someone with great reviews that leaves out of a marina that is only a 10 minute walk from our hotel. I emailed them with some questions & the response was so helpful.

  4. UPDATE 01/14/10: You can read through this thread & see how I managed to make the brochures I wanted for my wedding. I tried several ways to share the template with others, but it wasn’t easy. As you can see below, I was still figuring out photoshop back then. I wanted to come back to this project and make an easy to customize template for these programs. I’ve learned so much more about working with photoshop & knew I could do a much better job now. The template is so much easier to work with than before. I even recorded videos to walk people through it. That’s how DIY wedding kits was started. Visit this link to learn about my much improved brochure template. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ds-more-48193/ _________________________ I have started working on a brochure to mail our guests a couple months before the wedding. Thanks KellyMN for the ideas & inspiration. This is still a rough draft. I plan on working on this more later. I'm tired of messing with it any more today. If you catch any typos, let me know. The brochure will be trifold. I'm getting 25 free from vistaprint. The lines in the back will not be on the final brochure. WARNING I've learned the resolution is too low. It probably happens in the step of saving it as a picture in powerpoint. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. I'll post once I know what to do. UPDATE To get past the resolution problem I made the power point page size 2x what it needed to be. It still acts funny when I uploaded it to vista print. So I opened it in powerpoint and saved it as a jpg from there. While I was at it I upped the resolution to 150 (from 127) with bicubic resampling (image-->resize-->resample image bicubic, then I typed 150 into the resolution box). Now the image is twice the size it needs to be with half the resolution. It ends up the correct size in vista print with 300dpi. Yay! I used the vista print templates to make this. I didn't want to work in photoshop, because I use powerpoint more often. So I opened the pdf file, flattened the layers, and saved it as a jpg. I then made a powerpoint file that was 11.1 inches by 8.63 (File--> Page setup). I inserted the template jpg onto a slide. I then right clicked to change the color to washout. It also helps to trifold a piece of paper to determine what page is what. I plan on making brochures like this for a welcome letter & a meet the guests letter. As always, I'll post pictures of the real deal when they are done. UPDATE Here is the new version. I put a step by step guide with pictures for making the background on post #46, page 5. If you aren't that computer savy, I don't recommend trying to make the dark/light background- it's a little tricky. Just make the whole picture light so you can still read the text. If you want some premade backgrounds (you' will have to make your text fit in the boxes available) download it here powerpoint of backgrounds.ppt It was too big to attach. I ordered them on Feb 10th. Only $7.45 shipped from vista print. I love vista print! I'll let y'all know how they turn out. They came in! I couldn't be happier. I love them! I can't stop looking at them. Mike teased me because all 25 are the same, but I've read them each. I stuffed some in envelopes today to send to our family & friends who have booked. The quality is great from vista print. Probably my favorite vistaprint project so far.
  5. Angela, I just watched your video. It was great!
  6. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t7905 Here is a thread where they have talked about the pros & cons of both. Please do a search before posting something. We are trying to minimize the number of repetitive threads on this forum. You are in luck- the dreams resorts may be the most popular on the forum. You will find tons of information.
  7. I know on some forums moderators can close threads so no one can add anything new. So if someone posted "has has anyone ever heard of boarding pass invitations?" and someone has already posted a suggestion to use the search bar, the thread could then be closed so no one posts any thing else. I've noticed that sometimes when people ask a question for the 100th time, a few people will direct them to the search bar, but then others (who are not as sick of that question) will continue to answer it. Are moderators able to close threads on this forum?
  8. My favorite BM gift I've ever received was a photo album the bride made of funny pictures of us together with sayings on the side clipped from magazines. We had so much fun looking at each others photoalbums at the rehersal dinner.
  9. Take your BMs skin tone into consideration before picking champagne. I look aweful in champagne! It's unreal how bad it looks on me. This weekend I was trying on BM dresses just to know my size before ordering a BM dress. The on in the shop was champagne. I looked terrible. So if any of your BMs are pale like me with pink tones they will probably look bad too. I can wear light pink though. I think both dresses are really cute. Pockets would be handy. You always need to touch up your lipstick for pictures.
  10. I paid $10 to use yahoo voice dial & called the WC at the hotel to confirm my date. It took about a week to get a confirmation even with my calling all the time. That was the hardest part. Other than that planning has been mostly fun. Get a good TA & don't stress about the details. Planning a DW can be fun and relatively stress free if done right.
  11. search the forum for BM gifts, bridesmaids gift, etc. You should find lots of ideas. I like your plan for your MOH. I bet she will be surprised.

I don't wear much makeup. I recently started wearing bare minerals & it has made it more obvious to me how I have this one dark spot under one eye. It's been there since high school, I just don't really notice it until I put on makeup. I guess because I am looking at myself closer to make sure the makeup is on nice. I'm pretty lucky that with my fair skin, I've never had a big problem with undereye circles. But, I think it's time to use a little concealer. Atleast for the wedding.
  13. There is so much info on dreams cancun on the forum you don't really need a site visit. Congrats! picking the place is the hardest part.

I'm starting to suggest searching instead of posting it for them. Unless it's a tricky to find post. I think in the future if newbies ask too many questions, I'll direct them to the search for "peed my pants."

LOL. Jason you crack me up. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...earchid=879432 All these things come up if you search "peed my pants."
  16. Browse the Riviera Maya section. You should find all the info you need. Picking a hotel can be the hardest part, but just dive into all the information and it will come together.
  17. You can customize Betty Crocker Fruit Rollups to have a picture and/or message. They are rather pricey, at $29.99 for a box of 30, plus tax and shipping. But currently there is a promotion to get $10 off. Enter the BEMINE code when you check out. My Fruit Rollups Customization Page This offer expires 2/3/08. I'm not ordering these, but I thought it would be fun to see how it works.
  18. What if you make new invitations? Do you tag them on the end of another thread or start a new one? Also, if people just have something silly to post, is it fine to put it in the chit chat thread? That one can easily be wiped out periodically right? Is the goal not to limit the number of threads posted, but to limit the number of threads that say the exact same thing? I think it has been fun to see old threads revivied after this post. I can see how there really were just a few brides in the beginning.

That way they can ride the bus to the hotel together, wait at customs together, etc.

  21. I noticed that the ryan air flights were no longer available on funjet. I saw that it was aeromexico instead, but didn't realize existing flights would be switched to aeromexico. I'm really glad to hear you don't have to worry about luggage anymore! That's great news. Did you flight times change? I wouldn't worry so much about bad reviews. When does anyone review a good airline? I had a great experience with airtran over the holidays, but enver bothered to write a review anywhere.
