How to choose a TA?
rodent replied to happygilmore's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
no the answer to your question, but did you see this: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15097 Dates are probably not soon enough for your wedding, but it might make a cheap site visit if you are doing one. -

I'm glad to hear that. My grandma got her birth certificate & applied for her passport last week. They told her it would take 4-6 weeks. So in 5 weeks if its not in I'll contact a local representative. The lady at the post office said the records were all she needed, but I know they can make mistakes. They approved my application & I had a birth abstract not a long form so I had to resubmit. My biggest fear was the birth certificate wouldn't come in, because they couldn't locate it when I went to our county courthouse. That worked out just a little deleyed so hopefully everything goes smoothly now.

Want to Combine an Order for Travel Mugs?
rodent replied to Agape Gems's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I think this is a great idea. I was going to see if anyone wanted to make Riviera Maya 2008 mugs, but then I decided to paint my own cups. I might look for someone to do riviera maya 2008 totes or something like that. Anyway, not trying to threadjack. I just think we should do more of this & save some money. -
Along the "Not my guest" line - what to do??

I can understand only inviting everyone to the reception & a small group to the ceremony. But, who wants to go to a ceremony & not a party? I guess if that's how people do it though everyone understands. I've told a few friends if they want to invite family or their friends thats fine with me. They just wouldn't come to the ceremony or dinner afterwards because we want to keep that small, but they can hang out with us any other time. I really think those guests would prefer to use that time to go off & do something fun. I think very few people would rather be at the wedding of a stranger than enjoying their vacation. -
good post. I think lotion or after sun lotion is a good thing to give people. It seems like people never think to pack it & then they spend all that time in the sun & their skin is dry. Someone has said they wish they got underwater cameras. But, not every guest would use them. I'm thinking about getting a few & then if anyone is going snorkeling I'll give them one. Maybe we can share a few & I'll get them all developed. I think cups/ travel mugs will definitly come in handy. OK, I'll let the brides with experience answer now.

Then, state that due to the cruise ship regulations, ceremony space is very limited, so unfortunately only a small group will be able to attend the actual ceremony but that you are looking forward to everyone joining in the reception that follows. Would that work? Then you can send small cards to each guest who you would like to attend the actual ceremony. Hopefully people will understand (especially those whom you don't even know!!!) I'm guessing that being from Miami is making it easier for many of your guests to jump on board? i think this is a good way to handle it. If they don't even know your daughter they probably don't want to attend the ceremony anyway. They just want to join in the fun of the cruise & really that doesn't hurt. I wouldn't invite them to the reception either if you are paying per person. Everyone can meet up after the reception to party on the boat. There is so much to do on a cruise they don't need to be included in the wedding stuff. They will probably be just as happy to pick their own place to dine that night & own entertainment. I mean, who wants to go to a wedding of someone they don't know? -
i like the hallmark between you & me cards. They say everything i want to say but can't put into workds. I'm always shocked to think anyone else would buy that car because I feel like it's made for just me.

I know sometimes they make a model of the ring before you custom order it so you can see what you like. I don't know much about this. Just someone I used to work with had it done. have you considered no band? I don't want a band. -
Wedding Dress Prices?
rodent replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Mine was $230 off the rack at Macy's. -
I keep my website private too. I don't mind sharing it with BDW members if they PM me, but I don't want to post it on my signature. People can read our posts who are not forum members. I've been searching stuff on google & my posts popped up. My site isn't password protected & doesnt ask for a name either, so I wouldn't know how many people were looking at it.

I am so excited! I just learned that the university athletic trainers have a free clinic for students. I'm going this week or next.

Wow! I don't know what to say to make this better. I hate when people won't RSVP no & say maybe when they mean no. Just say no if you mean no, you know? I can't believe they are sticking you with the deposit money!

The other suggestion, which we did, was if you have any children going could you bump them up to the adult price it could be cheaper then the $300.00(it was for us) and then on paper she has a person in her room, but she then gets a room of her own. Fighting over a small amount of money is just not worth the drama, friends are to important for that:) I think you meant to reply to the other thread.

He said if I don't get it taken care of now I could have a lot of issues later in life....especially with carrying a baby...so it was a no brainer....I'd spend double or tripple! $30 a week isn't near as high as I was thinking. I do agree it's better to fix a problem now than to let it turn into something more expensive & more damaging. That is why after I realized this is really a problem I started looking into what I need to do about it. Thanks for all the advice. I'll call my insurance people this week & find out what my plan covers. I have a decent plan through BCBS, but it's not a great plan. I also have free access to student health because I'm in grad school. That might be useful for getting referred somewhere. I'll see if they look at stuff like that. I've also called the athletic rehab facility on campus, but didn't get a straight answer about anything.

This is what my daughter Nicole has, and unfortunately is why she is now in a wheelchair after opting for a serious surgery to put rods in her back that ended up puncturing her spinal chord. Before this she led a normal life had a fusion of the spinal chord that stopped the curve from getting any worse, and she wore a lift on her shoe, there are exercises that a physio therapist can reccomend to you to help with the scoliosis. Anyway my whole point in this response is please see a doctor before you see a chiropractor and get a proper diagnosis, if you don't a chiroprator could do you more harm then good. great advice. I have been checked for scoliosis. They did checks all through high school. I don't know if it's something that would come up after high school, but if not that is not likely the problem.

Basically, the leg being shorter is a response to something else going on with your alignment. My hips are quite a bit off from eachother (a few centemeters) which will affect your legs and back as well. I also have a few vertibraes that are starting to fuse a bit on my lower spine. I didn't find any of this out until a few months ago after I was having ridculous hip pain on my right side after I would do hard runs or walks/workouts. Squats really hurt alot as well. My chiropractor says I have mild scoliosis and it is possibly something I've had since birth or a very young age. You should go and see a chiropractor asap. I can't belive I waited so long to awknowlege how much pain my hips had. I figured I had just worked out too much. Anyways.....long story, but that is how it started for me too. Every time I go in he measures if the difference in my legs has changed at all. It is helping so much to see him on a weekly basis. I was pissed at first because I felt like the girl who is in perfect health....and then to find out I'm all off in alignment was maddening! Good luck...let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, I was hoping to hear from someone with a similar problem. I also lift weights & I usually like being sore. I feel good & know I had a good workout. Now that I realize the hip soreness is bad it's bothering me. It makes me not enjoy hiking & going on long walks as much because I feel like I'm just damaging my hip. Does your insurance cover a a chiropractor? I really doubt mine does. I'll call though. I don't want to spend thousands on this, but I do want to protect my health. I know what you mean about it making you mad. I workout pretty often so be in good shape & then I have all this pain from just walking 8 miles. I was walking around so much to see Mike running a marathon. And then I limped more than him & he ran 26.2 miles.

venting bride to be about neg. guest comments

Many of us have to fly to other states to attend wedding. Do we expect them to pay for our flight or hotel? No way! I do think it's a great way to weed out the negative people. You know, if they got a free trip they'd probably complain about the room, flight, food, etc. Some people will always complain no matter what.
