I downloaded some free ones from here today black and white photoshop actions I still need to get a little more experienced with CS3, but I do like the way the pictures turned out. I'll post them.
  2. if you see his website, you will understand. It's very bad!
  3. Mod alert! Close the thread. Yari took it too far.
  4. My mom just called to see if the journalism teacher at her school could use this as an example. I'm glad there isn't anything inappropriate for junior high kids on here They are making travel brochures.

You are a wizard! I just know from experience. We make posters to hange at conferences (kind of like a presentation on a poster). If people copy & paste the pictures are messed up. For a presentation it totally doesn't matter. I just wanted to warn people so they don't do invitation or anything they plan to print that way. Most of what I know about designing stuff though I've learned since I started planning my wedding. This wedding has been so educational

I suggested somewhere they people who don't have lumapix should just used the free trial & watermarked version. Doesn't matter for a siggy pic. It's so much more fun to build collages with than powerpoint. I just have the essentials version for $40. If I am not allowed to make something the size I want, I make it 1/2 size. When I upload it, it works fine. I can't always get 300dpi, but i've printed much less & I couldn't tell a difference. I might upgrade to the full deal some day, but there is just too much software I want. And I'm really doing fine with essentials.

There are so many myths about how long hair grows...eg: 1/2 inch every month, but I'm not sure what is true. My brother's a hair stylist and he said it depends on the person hair. So I dunno. I've measured my progress & it's been a little over a 1/2 inch a month. That's probably a good estimation, but people do vary. I wanted to see how much long it would be by june. It should be plenty long. I've never really thought about it, so before I heard the 1/2 inch thing I would have believed anywhere from 1/16th of an inch to 2 inches.

Wonder what the hell that's all about. It would be cool to know where they come from. Hey carly, I can't open something 1K! Wow, you are generous. I give them about 100-200. I don't want people just taking templates & leaving. But if I can tell someone is on their way to becoming an active member, I'll give them more.

  12. I've been letting it grow since we got engaged in june. I thought it would be long enough by now. I think it's the short layers that are making it too short to do what I want. It was at my ears in June & now it's below my shoulders. I just really thought I could try out my hairstyle by now. I'm getting impatient. I'm not sure what I'll do after the wedding. I'll definitly get a trim, but I'm not sure if I'll go back to short.

I think the BDW gnomes are responsible for assigning karma. It might not have anything to do with rep points. Previously I thought you got karma for donating points to people. It's all still a mystery.

I screwed up the question. I always try to type so fast in this game so someone doesn't beat me to answering. I fixed it now.
  15. Mom for sure Would you rather gain 10 pounds but have a significantly higher IQ, or lose 10 pounds & not be as bright as you were before?

He got such a kick out of it that he kept the card. and boy was he pissed when i explained to him that publications wont print Dr. next to your name unless you are a real medical doctor -- phds DONT count as a Dr. salutation. but back to topic, i got really sad the other day because i realized that when i legally change my name i have to surrender my old passport and get a new one with my married name (plus pay the fee for a new one, ugh!) i have lots of cool stamps in there from when i studied abroad and i feel like it contains a record of my life's journeys. also, it will have the passport stamp from our wedding trip.... maybe ill just tell them i lost my passport and need a new one, and i can keep the old one! i am changing my name legally but not professionally. i am already established in my career with my maiden name, and in my business, your name is your brand. if people already trust your brand, and then you switch your brand name, you have to rebuild your reputation and trust with clients just as you would if you were a marketer's product. too many people in my industry know who i am since im in the public eye, so changing my name would hurt my credibility. You get to keep your passport stamps. I think they just replace the one page. I asked a friend this last week because she have traveled all over. She said she is making a copy just incase. I'm getting a phd, not going to med school. Phds do actually go by Dr. But, you have, PhD after your name, not MD.

I'm going to get some free downloads first & play with them. I could see this saving so much time. I have been doing everything manually. It was good because I learned a lot about photoshop that way, but I'm ready for shortcuts. Do you know if you can put it on multiple computers? I photoshop at work & home.

Copy pictures from wherever you have them (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) onto the slide (or right click-copy, right click-paste). Click the corners of the pic to make them as big or little as you like and drag them into place. If you right click the picture it gives you formatting options like borders and stuff. When you're done select the whole thing, right click, and save as photo. Then put that onto photoucket or something similar. That's all I know and it isn't fancy, but it works for me:) Just FYI, copy & pasting the pics is totally fine for a siggy pic. But if you are making a project to print, use insert--> picture from file. If you paste them in you can lose a bunch of resolution.

It prevents you from having to wait between posts, searches & PMs. I have all 3. A trifecta of flood control.
