HELP!!! FI can't dance!!!
rodent replied to PrecisePlans's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I personally wouldn't make him do it. learning to dance should be fun. if it's not fun for him too, I'd skip it. I was at a friends playing board games & her roomate was taching her FI to dance before their wedding. She was getting so mad at him because he couldn't do it. She was yelling at him & I'm sure he felt terrible. It's really frustrating to not be able to get something & the worse you feel about it the worse it gets. it comes natural to some people, but others just can't do it. Just do the 8th grade rock & fade out the song. Have you thought about making a routine with some BMs or guests? I love to dance & my friends & I have a silly routine we do. -
We should have a font exchange. But, we should do it in a way that won't bog down the servers. What about uploading them all to megaupload.? it's a free program I've been using to attach some stuff to the forum. Or should we do it diferently? What if we had say 10-20 people sign up to be in the font swap. Then we burnt CDs of our whole font collection & mailed them to each other. That way it would be easy to put them all on our computer. We'd have to have some guidlines. Like, a person can only do it if they have some fonts to contribute. And we could set a deadline for getting the CDs out. Just an idea that popped in my head. If anyone has feedback about how to do it, or if it's a bad idea let me know.

I thought this might be helpful for everyone who wants to upload their wedding video. I am comparing the options & found two sites that sound better than youtube & photobucket for hosting a video. 1. Dailymotion - Share Your Videos You can upload a 20 minute video at a higher quality. The maximum size of a video per file is 150 MB (compared to 100 MB for YouTube). Video limit is 20 minutes (compared with YouTube's 10 minutes) Videos uploaded by users to Dailymotion are converted to the VP6 codec at a resolution of 320x240. MotionMaker users can upload at a resolution of 640x480 or 1280x720. YouTube uses the older Sorenson Spark H.263 codec at a resolution of 320×240. Audio on Dailymotion videos are encoded as MP3 at 96 kbit/s in stereo, compared to 64kbit/s mono on YouTube videos. translation- better quality video, better sound & twice as long as youtube. 2. Vimeo, Video Sharing For You The resolution is also 1,280x720. The main difference between the site and other competing video sharing services such as YouTube is that Vimeo allows only user-created videos, of a "friends and family" nature. No pornography, TV shows, music videos, movies or anything not created by the user can be uploaded. Vimeo has gained a reputation[1] as catering to a high end, artistic crowd because of its higher bitrate, resolution and HD support. This is funny- as I was typing this I was also making a Vimeo account to test it out. The first video that popped up was Susan & Matt's wedding. How did it know I would want to see that? The internet is scary sometimes. Anyway, the quality is great & it's what Paul Schrank (playweddings) uses so it must be good, right? So there you go, two options better than youtube. I think I'll use vimeo. I like that it doesn't seem like the kind of website people click through looking for stuff to laugh at. Dailymotion is like the youtube of France.
