Suggestion - member status & what it means

In a wedding forum, that just doesn't have the same need. So the forum has more stuff than we don't really use. We had some fun exploring what all those features could be used for. You can rep someone & leave a note about what you liked about their post. Then they see it in the usercp. It seems like several things contribute to karma, but no one is really sure. All we know is the longer you've been around & the more active you've been, the more karma you have. There are probably forums where people look at the karma amount to decide if they trust someone. I even went to the vbulletin forum & couldn't figure out exactly how karma works. -

Tammy that's so nice that Fer emailed you! He's honestly the best. I highly HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! I'm soooo glad I worked with him instead of youknowwho! ohhh, there is one in your siggy I don't think I've seen. We watched a slideshow on his website a few days after your wedding. I can't believe how fast he got everything up. Especially since he was traveling somewhere right after your wedding. Definitly a great call going with fer instead of she who shall not be named.

BDW Buy/Sell forum: Use at your own risk!
rodent replied to TammyWright's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Most people on here only buy & sell a few times, so adding a feedback system might not protect anyone. Before I buy anything on a forum, I take a look to see if they are an active member & I get a feeling that I can trust them. I've never been screwed on a forum purchase before & I've done some fairly large transactions buying photography equipment. -

Seiously, why not just leave if you hate this place so much.? Have you ever been a member of an unmoderated or poorly moderated forum? They are usually a mess, especially with this many members. Although, they usually don't get that large because no one wants to use them. Forums need rules. Without them, they don't work.

If he was my friend I'd call him the el crazy groom de esta from now on.

I find drawing stuff to be easier in powerpoint. Before I was comfortable with photoshop, I'd make stuff in powerpoint & use the trick to resize it in photoshop. In Design is probably the user friendly, graphics program. I've never tried it. Illustrator is another one you have to study first. It's complicated.

when you save from powerpoint, it comes out 150dpi. You can double to size of the image & then you have more than 200 dpi. Just make sure they know how large you want it printed. If you save as a pdf instead of a jpg, you don't lose your resolution. but, they might not want a pdf file. Powerpoint wasn't designed for printing, so there isn't a simple way to export a high res image. Another option is to download a free trial of photoshop from adobe's website. Open your jpg & the click image--> resize. Check the box next to "resample" & increase your dpi to 200. What photoshop is doing, is taking a 150 dpi image & adding in pixels to make it 200 dpi.

have they put down deposits? So many people told me they were planing to come, but almost all backed out. The truth is, I was relieved. I didn't really want many more than 30 people. We ended up having something like 24 including us. But, at one point I was panicing that 65 were going to show up. I'd just come up with areas to cut, like OOT bags. You can do just a travel mug with a few things inside it instead of a full blown bag. You can charter a van for a group excursion instead of pay per person. A way to cut down on the reception, would be to have a sunset ceremony. The sun will set late on your wedding day (around 830pm). You can have a 730 ceremony and a party on the beach as the sun sets. Then everyone will just grab dinner at the hotel before the ceremony. I think a beach party with drinks & a band would be much more fun than a big dinner together.

Tying on another woman's engagement ring?
rodent replied to Shommy128's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
When my friends are eyeing my ring, I just pass it to them to put on. I did the same with a friend's ring before I was engaged. Not sure why, but it was fun. We all passed it around & put it on. I also don't believe in good or bad luck.
