I look around at everything. Then the undergrads just look tired from all the studying.

  3. Can't wait to see the rest. We met at college too. I wanted to go back to A&M campus to take our engagement pictures, but there wasn't time. We aren't home long enough over the holidays. So we did our engagement pictures at Duke campus instead where I'm a grad student. Maybe one of these days we'll take pictures at A&M. I'd love to take one on the steps of the old building where we had a class together. I think it would be so cool to be retrace all the spots we hung out when we first started dating.

I started looking at them in the Fall of 06 & there were not a lot of places that sold it. Now, I see moissanite signs all over the mall. I hope their sells continue to increase. It's a really great product. I love that they are so inexpensive, but still something that will last. I stopped buying diamonds a couple years ago so it was either going to be a moissanite or a sapphire. Where did you get your sterling silver band? I'd like a little band to wear when I don't want to wear my e-ring. I have my mom's wedding band & it fits me, but it's really thick. Then I have the band that came with my ring, but it needs to be resized. Mike ordered my ring too big. It is a curved band through & I'd rather just have a straight one to wear alone.

That's what mine is. I love it!! It's so sparkley. People always say "wow your diamond has so much fire" and I tell them what it is. A lady even came from across a store once to ask where I got my ring. I also like that it's lab created in the town I live in.
  6. I don't want a wedding band. I wanted my ering to have the thinest band possible because I don't usually wear rings. It took me months to get used to it. I don't want to add a 2nd band & thicken the size. My FI doesn't care either way. BTW, check out photobucket for posting pictures. You just upload & insert the IMG code.
  7. Have a great time!! Hopefully you can keep up with the playoffs on your cruise because it looks like your team is going far

I had to check to see if I wrote this. I have also been a BM 9 times & have the exact same feelings & experiences. About 1 month before the wedding, the bride always says she wishes she just eloped. I'm less than 3 months away from my wedding & I'm having a blast planning. There have been a few stressful moments (mostly with booking flights, etc.) but over all it's been fun!!! The things I'd hear my friends complaining about doing for their wedding just didn't appeal to me at all. So instead of meeting with florists, caterers, etc. I'm googling pictures of Mayan ruins & places to snorkel (that's what I've been doing tonight). I am so happy we decided to do a DW!
  9. What a wonderful engagement story!
  10. 6. Email your fonts to both email addresses. Put PC or Mac in the subject line depending on what type of computer you have. The font files are different for Macs or PCs. I added this info to step 6.
  11. Quote: Originally Posted by Maura no theyre different. for example on dafont.com, i have to download the mac version. if i try to download the PC file, its blank and wont open on my mac. Here's why: Fonts on PCs and MACs have a slightly different file structure making them incompatible to be read directly by each other's platform machines. There are many fonts that are designed for both platforms but there will still be differences between the two versions. The biggest difference will be the spacing between letters will vary slightly so even if it's the same font it might lay out differently than you intend. I didn't realize. If people have mac fonts, they can do the same thing, but put "Fonts for Macs" or something like that in the email subject line. That way people can distinguish the types of fonts. Currently there are no Mac fonts in the collection (that I know of), but if you add yours maybe other Mac users will add theirs too. That way you can get some new fonts too.
  12. I really didn't want to do an AHR, but I thought we had to. We live in NC & our family is in Texas. So we planned on having a casual BBQ AHR in Texas. Even keeping it casual, it's still expensive. And I feel bad having people drive 3 hours for a BBQ plate & go back home. It was the one thing about the wedding I wasn't excited about. Then on New Years my brother got engaged & they set the date for August. We decided that I shouldn't have an AHR because it would be too much that summer. I was so happy!!! We are still doing our AHR in north carolina, but that is easy & fun. ALl our friends live in the same city so we don't have the problem in Texas where people are driving 3 or more hours to get there. Also, its all friends not family here. So we are getting a keg of corona, stringing up some decorations & a pinata & just having a party. It will be at a friends house. If I started planning again I never would have said I'd have an AHR in Texas. I only did it because I thought we had to.

  17. It's so great to see your stuff! I can't wait to hear about your wedding. Congrats!

You're right, it's a little contradictory but that last paragraph made me realize that we just need to really be good about the prevention measures but not have to take the malaria pills. I traveled to Guatemala back in the 90's and I was the only one in my group who decided to be cautious and take the pills. It turns out I didn't really need them as we were sticking to the tourist routes, but man those pills made me SO SICK! I was so dizzy, nauseous, and tired that it started to affect my trip, so I stopped taking them. I think we'll be ok! Too bad we'll just be missing you in that area! We'll be coming back home the week before your wedding date. Good luck and don't feel bad about worrying abou this! Being in public health, I've convinced myself I've had all the tropical diseases - haha! Susan Great to read your response. I feel even more reassured. As a Microbiologist, I try to avoid taking antibiotics unless it's really needed. I don't want to contribute to any resistance. I will be taking good bug spray. I put it on the guests packing list too. On the beach mosquitos shouldn't be a problem. I went to this island in college that was a reserve area. I was collecting bugs with the science club They didn't allow mosquito repelant & there were swarms of mosquitos. We got bit so much. Once we were on the beach, we didn't get bit at all. Maybe it's the breeze?
  19. Congrats! You work hard for your first 1000. The second 1000 comes easy.

As for cenotes versus ocean snorkeling, that's a good question. Cenotes are part of a vast underground network of rivers, and all that freshwater does run straight to the ocean so all the chemicals travel. But the nice thing about cenotes is that they're often quite shady, so sunscreen might not be as necessary. In fact, I've often used (and recommended) just an extra-large t-shirt to cover backs and shoulders--the areas most exposed when snorkeling. Funny that your guests might not do any ocean swimming. That's always the first thing I do when I get to a seaside hotel: drop all luggage, throw on swimsuit, and walk-almost-run to the water. =) they will definitly swim in the ocean. I guess I thought the sunscreen was just for snorkeling because you were getting closer to the coral. I've never read to use it when you just get in the ocean. I guess I will need to look some stuff up. the cenotes will be right after the coba trip so we'll definitly be wearing sunscreen all day.
