  1. OK I made mine, but I'll be adding more in a few weeks when I get my new pictures.

Since my friends booked their trip for april 4th, I knew I'd make it this year. Tulips are my favorite too. My first year at Duke, they put so many tulips in the beds around campus too. They still do it, but nothing was a pretty as that first year. I'm going to look for some pictures to tide us over....

  5. They are going to Vail, Co my mom wants to go too. I told she can't tag along on their honeymoon & she said "but I'm going on yours. it's not like i'd share a room with them." mom!

We do have some awesome vendors on the forum that are fun to have around & very helpful. Especially for me since I'm so into photoshop lately. But, I can see the problems, too. There are less vendors so it would be the same ones all the time. we can always show our favorite vendors we love having them around with BDW gifts. I really think having vendors on the forum is a big part of what makes BDW so great. But, I know it makes more work for the mods. So thanks again girls for all your do.
  8. This is perfect. 3 friends are flying to see me the first weekend in april. We are going to the Duke gardens which is full of tulips in april. I love tulips. I'll be sure to take some pictures for my siggy.
  9. I've bought some cute sundresses on sale. I've been stocking up on them for a while. I also got a bright blue swim suit cover-up dress. I thought it would be good to throw on to go eat at the bufett. I'm also taking many swim suits & some casual tops & shorts. My dress has thick straps, but the back is shear. I have tried to find a swimsuit that doesn't tie around the neck, but haven't found one I like.
  10. I would use a bronzer not a tanning cream. That way you have more control with it. If you do want a tanning cream the best I've ever used was by estee lauder. But, even a great tanning cream can look bad in the bright sun. I have strappy suits & I just alternate them and move the straps around. I usually don't get a tan line around my neck. I'm packing tops with thin straps too. If you can't avoid them, tan lines can always be photoshopped out.

I also like the ones with the old school looking picture & it says something about beer. My friend made one for a genetics happy hour that said "beer. helping scientists develop social skills ince 19xx" So maybe something with that type of joke. You could also take a beer logo & change it to have cabo, or your names, or the wedding date.

I was thinking maybe stuff on the front & back. But I don't think it's quite a T-shirt slogan. If they were for my group of friends I'd have kristen cavaliri (from laguna beach) on them & the slogan "what happens in cabo stays in cabo." We always say that in our best kristin voice. There business never stayed in cabo. Video camera were following them around. It was all over TV. My family wouldn't know what to do with a shirt like that though.
  15. I know I'd be nervous too in the same way. I think it's easier to meet strangers than other BDW members because it's like they already know so much about you but don't really know you. If I was anywhere near seattle, i'd definitly go to that meet up. I know it's going to be a blast. don't forget pictures!

You're doing yourself a huge favor by not over-thinking things because I think most of us married gals will tell you that the details aren't what you leave thinking about in the end. Good for you!!! As for the nerves...I suggest meditation and alcohol...hehe I think that's why we start so many "who else has x months to go" threads. It doesn't seem right that it can be so easy. An no one is going to start a thread saying "I have nothing to worry about!" You only read about the worries. So it does feel odd to not have any problems.

The writers strike has made me enjoy not watching much TV. Instead i'm on the forum or photoshopping.
  18. OK, these might be lame. Just brainstorming: came for the beer, stayed for the wedding. or came for the beach, stayed for the wedding what happens in cabo stays in cabo...unless you travel with your friends & family. ...unless there is a wedding videographer My favorite shirt I bought in Cancun when I was 17 said "save water drink beer." I was drunk at the hotel pool & some guy had it on. I thought it was hilarious so I went across the street to the mall (beer in hand) and bought it.

Most of my wedding planning has been using software & getting cool fonts. I wanted to get most of it done early so I can start spending my weekends getting some sun. I've got to get some sun before mexico or I will burn.

I think that's why I kept forgetting we needed to do it. But, we still want to make it fun. Our parents know, but we aren't making it very public. So it's kind of fun. Our own secret day. I bought a cute white lace dress. We started talking about when to go do it & I got tears in my eyes. It's really starting to hit me how quickly the wedding is coming up. I haven't decided if I'll put marriage day pictures in my photobook. I'll definitly post some on here. Maybe I can put them in as the day we went to the courthouse. I mean, all couples have to do that before their wedding.

  22. I'm feeling the same way. I'm so calm & just doing little projects here & there. I felt like I couldve gotten married 6 months ago. Occasionally I do panic that I will forget to do the legal ceremony in NC before we leave. How terrible would that be? Spend all this time thinking about hair flowers & then forget to get married. I told mike yesterday he is in charge of marriage day. He is in charge of making sure we remember to get married legally, finding out what we need to do & planning whatever he wants to make that day special. I know what his plans will include because he looked really happy to be incharge. I'm excited about marriage day because it will be just about the two of us. It's fun to have both. The private celebration of our marriage & the one with family & friends.

I am not going on a site visit. I dind't want to go to the same place twice in a year. i'd rather see something different. I have felt like I can get all the info I need from the forum without actually seeing the place. But, it would be nice to have visited & sort of test run the activities I'm planning for our guests to make things go smoother.

Was the money to cover your trip? If thats what it was intended for I think you should go. With you wedding over a year away a site visit would be nice.
